Mostly because of the story, scenery, graphics. I played the first Cadenza and liked it so I got this one. I was immersed in the story, I felt like I was part of the investigation. The mini games were easy but pretty, voice over was great. I'm glad I purchased it.
I may be biased but I couldn't wait for this sequel, I loved the first and to date I'm not disappointed. I don't understand the bad reviews, just maybe the mini games are a bit easy. I also love this developer, Cateia Games, I really enjoyed Red Crow Mysteries - Legion, Tales from the Dragon Mountain both.
I recommend this game!

Played the full game, loved it, sometimes some games just get to you, I'm always looking for something different. This one I enjoyed, cartoonish, good graphics, dark but clear, personalities, loved the detective, appealed to the detective in me, didn't know who did it till a lot later.
I recommend this game!

I liked the game, a couple of things made for a 4 star instead of a 5, but no reason for a bad review. Lea Thompson was bad, the other actors were a lot better. I liked the plot, couldn't stop, kept me going all day, the way the map plays in the game, the video clips, the way the hidden object lists are played out, placing the drawings, the moving puzzles, connect wires, some mini games I hadn't played before. I had to consult the walkthrough, some things had no reason. blooper: School right beside the house, why take a bus ? bad: no instructions for the last relic mini game
I recommend this game!

European Mystery: Scent of Desire
Several young women have gone missing in Paris. Now only you can stop a maniac's murderous trail of fragrance and deception!
Good game, good puzzles, good story, good graphics, good to see something different from castles and mansions and dark and grizzly. I liked the collecting of smells to create recipes also quite different. Glad to give 5 stars

I timed out on the demo, so I immediately bought. My type of game Hidden Object Adventure and it's long. After 3 chapters I thought it was finished but it goes on and on. Different from the norm. Great puzzles, good clear graphics, good characters, good voice over, good story, different mini games lots of them and you can replay them again from the main menu. There's a map with what to do and you can jump. The type of game I'll play once a year, played twice already. I usually don't like 360degrees but this one I don't get dizzy. The developers JetDogs really added to the first one Emerald Curse.
I recommend this game!

Really fun, in an unreal fantasy world, long, a bit drabby colors. I love it when there is a jump map and bonus it lists the tasks in each place. I reserve 5 stars for exceptionnally great. But enjoyed playing.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed it, fun game, but not the quality of the first one (the first one on my top 5 list for fun and beauty factor). It's like they ran out of time to finish it. I liked the graphics. I would give it 4 stars for fun, graphics, new creatures, but I'll give it a 3 because of missing components and bugs. The fireworks were there in graphics but the special fx sounds were almost absent. Sometimes there was vo sometimes not. There was no map. I ran into a couple of snags/technical glitch/bugs/crash. I will mention in the forum technical issues. I was able to finish the game. I missed Tinkerbell but I liked the owl.
I recommend this game!

I loved the first 2 Secrets of the Dark, I get the feeling they ran out of imagination for this one and just profiting from a successful concept. Pros: Graphics were not bad. Story was ok. Nice addition to HOS, you have to put things in the main scene. Cons: Story could have been better used. Nothing ever happened with the eclipse. Some running around was ridiculous. You have a puzzle in one place, get an object at another place far away, come back to the first place only to find out you have to go back yet another time, and this happens many times. I call this 'making the game artificially longer'. It didn't need it, it was long. Mini games (usually my cup of tea) had no instructions at all. Some I had to skip. Some mini games were ridiculously easy.
I still recommend it but at DD price or a free game coupon, it had a lot of gameplay.
