I enjoyed Rainbow Web 3 so much I purchased this on a 65% off day. This one is good and gives you 2 levels of play one with a timer and one without. Unfortunately if you play without the timer you don't get to build the village which is part of what makes the game fun.
When you play with the timer, it starts out easy but got so difficult by the time I got to level 5-4 I could simply go no further...I must have tried that level 8 times. If you don't make the right moves from the get-go, you are out of luck and there is no "hammer" to help you break through like there is in RW3.
So my only option is to play the relaxed way and not build...which holds no fun for me. Glad I got it on a deal.
I have been playing match 3 for about 6 years and have never run across one set up like this one. It took me quite awhile to get my mind around this one. Definitely a challenge to readjust ones mind to this unique way to play match 3 however once I got it I found it became easier to keep focused. I never did take off the "show me the next move" though.
The game became a gripper and was hard to shut down for awhile. I don't think I would recommend this to new match 3 players though, but for those seasoned players it is a great challenge and I grew to love it.
I enjoyed rebuilding the village and the graphics, color and animations were great. A definite 5 star in my book.
I have played the more recent jewel match games and they are far above this one. Apparently this was the first one produced and it is very mundane compared to the more recent ones. Only power-up was a slow filling hammer. In order to make this game even play worthy you need to use the timer otherwise it is just blah.
Not a builder game and the graphics are just average. I'm really not sure what the challenge is unless you are just trying to build up points.
I didn't complete the game as it was just to boring...maybe something else happens later, but I doubt it.
You've arrived in the peaceful resort town of Aurora Peak to investigate some mysterious local crystals. But the devious plot you uncover there could endanger the entire world!
I followed the fairly good reviews and played the demo which seemed to be OK. However, the game was somewhat boring. I should have know when I chose casual and the hint/skip button would be set at 60 minutes that this was probably going to be a finger-tapper game.
A LOT of puzzles which were difficult and very TEDIOUS! Good grief and with a slooooow skip. A lot of snoozing here. There were also A LOT of HOS which for the most part were OK, but some items were small and they were not real clear. All of this made for a looooong and boring game. I was glad when it finally came to and end.
A good transporter map, which was needed since you went all over for items. I give this game a 3- out of 5. Gamers who LOVE tedious, challenging puzzles and A LOT of them will love this. Glad I got this at a discount and didn't pay full fee.
Well, this isn't one of those games you just hate to see come to an end. Basic match 3 with some really awful HOS which were dark and just blurry enough to cause major eyestrain and also penalized you for using the hint. You do a lot of clicking in dark holes to find stuff. Not fun.
This game was long and got a bit monotonous. I played the untimed mode, but considering the amount of points I got for apparently doing each of the levels faster than expected I would assume the timed mode would not be a challenge.
For those who like basic match 3 and can handle a bit of a blur in the graphics, you will probably like it. This is not a builder game, but has a story dialog that I never read...have no clue why they even put it in; waste of time, but you can at least skip over it unlike the non-skipable statistic box that pops up after each level...really annoying.
Music was fine, hardly noticed it. Not for those that like a bit of action in their match 3 game.
I found this game to a combination of challenging and easy. Very nice graphics and animations, however and this may be because I stopped and started a few times, I found the story a bit chopped. I will probably have to replay it again because it just didn't seem to flow well.
The transporter map was good, but would stop showing the next area to go now and then and I would have to use the hint to move around...this got frustrating. Fairly long for an SE.
HOS and puzzles were good and sometimes creative. The hints to some of the puzzles like the pole in the underwater scene were not clear at all. The hint was in the journal but I could hardly see it and the puzzle could not be skipped. You had to solve it to move on. It was things like this which made the game frustrating at times. Oh well, I used a coupon to purchase. I did like it despite these oddities but it was nothing I would write home about.
I recommend this game!

Jewel Legends: Magical Kingdom
Rebuild the Magical Kingdom, erect magnificent buildings and restore the kingdom’s former glory!
This was a very long game....almost too long and could be very frustrating. I could not imagine playing this on the timed mode. The most frustrating part for me was the placement of the power-ups on the lower part of the screen. If your mouse happened to cross over one of them when you were playing the game, it would activate and there would go some of your hard earned power points. If you were lean on these points this could set back your game. They should have been placed in a different area of the game board so you had to deliberately click on them. Drove me nuts.
Colorful game with some definite challenges. Not sure what the color difference in the bombs made, but I do know the bombs would react differently at different times and positions in the game which was also frustrating.
Basically a straight match three game although building a city game you more power-ups. A little too long for me. definitely not a one-sit game.
I played this with no timer so it was a bit slow at the beginning as it actually is just a straight match 3, but the developers definitely put in a few new twists into the gameplay which made this game, even without the timer a challenge and a lot of fun. Those who like timed games will have a challenge ahead for them. Highly recommend for match 3 lovers and those who enjoy something different now and then. Brilliant graphics and animations and the music is good too.
This game has always popped up in the "you might like this" area and I never even considered it because it just looked like another straight HOS with bad graphics. What a surprise I got when I finally broke down and purchased it on a 60% off day. I now understand why it gets such great ratings.
Yes, this is a straight, old school HOS. But there is so much more to this game; I love the typing sequence the best, but all the other game challenges are a hoot. True, the graphics are cartoon like, but the music is great. Unfortunately I turned off the voices and story and I will probably play the game again just to pick up on all the things I missed hearing and doing.
The game basically takes you through the Great Gatsby story with music and pick up items which are true to the era. Be prepared for a challenge as the objects are small and you really have to search and I believe they change a bit on each level. Highly recommend as there is so much more to this game than you expect!
This was supposed to be the happiest day of your life. But instead of walking down the aisle, you're in another dimension, battling a mad inventor to save your family!

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. A lot of HOS but they were interactive, clear and easy so the game moved along well. Also lots of mini-games which, since I am not of fan of these, I found tedious and at times challenging. Hint recharged quickly but the skip was a finger tapper which made skipping the mini-games slow.
Fantastic transporter map that indicated where action was needed so you didn't have to guess which "active" site was the one to go to. This was needed as the game was all over the place. Great voice-overs, animations and the graphics were clear and well colored. The game ended well and was long for a SE. This game sort of covered all the basis for great gameplay. A definite 5 star.
