I like match 3 games, a good break from the adventure/HOS games now and then, but this one was a bit dull and frustrating. I guess I misunderstood it as a "builder" game because it wasn't in the sense of some match 3 builder games. I also really disliked the fact you had to wait for everything to fall and end before you could continue making matches. This was VERY frustrating especially if you run with the timer. The "power ups" were VERY slow to fill...almost useless.
The whole aspect of the game was slow and boring. I got to the second puzzle and left. There are better match 3 games out there to spend your money on. This is a no buy for me even on sale. Animations, color and sounds were good though.
Wow, I bought this game on discount without demo because I had the first one and enjoyed it. More challenge etc. I found this one totally boring, even after switching to timed mode, which wasn't much of a challenge either. I got to the very end and what appears to be the final puzzle was nearly impossible to finish as timed and there was no way to skip it. Since the game was not a game I was really caught up in I just checked out. Odd for such an unchallenging game to have a such a impossible puzzle at the end.
Graphics, color and animations were good, but it was just the same-o after level after level. The constant dialog interruptions drove me crazy and the hidden object levels were annoying. Totally had to turn off that awful music. Glad it was on sale. As far as intriguing, challenging and fun match 3 games go, this one was a loser.
I don't recommend this game.

The Torment of Mont Triste
No one dares fall asleep in the village of Mont Triste... for when sleep arrives, so does the mysterious Lord of Nightmares.
Animations and graphics were very good, voice overs? Passable. HOS interesting, Puzzles? A nightmare of tedious games with bad instructions....skipped almost all of them, and there were a lot of them. Toward the end I just waited for the skip to fill I got so tired of them. I guess puzzles lovers would love them.
Story a bit different than I've seen before but the game seem to drag on so long that I lost interest and was just waiting for it to end....not a real gripper.
I would recommend for a DD or on sale, but I don't know if I would go full price. Demo and decide.
I thought since this had such high reviews and I had purchased two others of this series that I would purchase without demo (its was only $2.99). Boy, what a mistake that was. I could only make it about 20 minutes or so into the game before the frustration level with the choppy, over-narrated, slow gameplay got to me. I don't have a clue what so many people thought was so great about this. So glad I only spent $2.99 for it. Skipped the two puzzles I encountered and the HOS was just plain odd. Between the cat voice and that whiney girl, well the whole game for me was a loser.
I purchased this as a DD and I'm glad it only cost me $2.99. Right off the bat it didn't download. Finally BF must have fixed something because a few days later it did.
Long game which became very tedious to the point I almost forgot what the beginning was like. A lot of jumping around which the transporter map helped with, but I ended up using the hint a lot in this game...not a smooth flowing game.
HOS were pretty standard with minimal interactive play, but they were easy. Puzzles/mini games were either tedious, difficult or without good instructions. I skipped almost all. Voice overs drove me nuts...and that Teddy Bear, he was the most annoying of all and completely unneeded. Why?
Animations were good, but the colors were dark and some HOS you just had to click in dark spots to find things. Awkward game that I found myself just playing without thinking..mind wandering. I sure wouldn't spend full price for it.

Purchased this with a credit that was ready to expire, but if I had paid $$ for it, I would have been disappointed. The demo gameplay was very easy and continued so for several levels then it became increasingly hard (I played on normal which has a timer). The "cons" to this game began to really pile up after that: 1. Any power-ups fill VERY slowly to the point they almost become useless. 2. You can buy items for your room, but only with money earned on the level you complete which often is not enough to buy anything because there is no way you can earn enough AND the money does not roll over...so I asked "what is the motivation here". 3. Since you often can't earn enough on each level to get the reward of earning room décor, you end up playing a fairly monotonous match 3 game for basically nothing. I guess you are earning points but what good are those? 4. Music was refreshing at first until I realized it just looped the same carol over and over again...finally shut it off...it was getting annoying.
Anyway, I stopped on level 45 I think, 3 or 4 scenes into the game because I was beginning to fall asleep and the levels were getting difficult and frustrating since the power-ups which there were only two, hardly filled in time. No rewards for multiple matches like other games. I've played better match 3 games....there are better ones out there.
Not sure where all the good ratings came from but I found this game outrageously slow and boring. Voice-overs, animations were very stilted. A lot of the scenes were very dark which made searching around difficult. Story and gameplay were awkward. A lot of dialog. Not a smooth flowing game. I gave it 2 stars because I don't like the word "hate", otherwise it would have been a 1 star.
Transporter map was good, but the hint and skip recharged very slowly and it appeared if you touched them when they were recharging they started all over. Did not have a custom setting so you were stuck tapping your fingers waiting for the skip. HOS were standard HOS...nothing unique and the two puzzles I ran across were tedious. Couldn't even complete the demo on this one....Yawn.
This had such good reviews that I made the mistake of buying without demo because I had to get another credit in before losing them all at the end of the month. Good thing it was on sale.
Boring, boring, boring ridiculous fantasy game with horrible narration. The only thing good about this game was it was colorful and the animations were good. Slow moving and dumb. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 star is I really dislike the word "hate".
HOS were adequate but the puzzles were awful. I just cannot believe the ratings. Transporter map had these little lightening bugs...good grief.
You've come to Mexico to explore a mysterious mansion. But this is no vacation. Your cousin is missing, and the house is crawling with bizarre and deadly creatures!
I knew from the moment I heard the first voice-over that this game was going to have to been taken with tongue in cheek. What fun the developers must have had making this!
From the Christopher Lloyd looking scientist to the fun time game play, it was 5 star. Graphics and animations were great, HOS pretty much same-on, but the puzzles were somewhat unique and fun to play. Transporter map was kind of useless since it didn't really tell you were the next action was so I used the hint to move around.
There were some challenges, but for the most part, just fun to play with its odd storyline and fun characters. The only downer was that dumb raccoon. He was fairly useless and not sure why he was put in. Nice length for a SE and you can Customize the gameplay. Good job devs!
A definite 5 out of 5 for me. Don't be so serious about it, just "chill" and have fun! Definitely recommend.
Well, I have played all three now and Rainbow Web III is the one to buy. All the Rainbow games are a unique match 3 challenge. However, both Rainbow and Rainbow II have no way to progress if you don't hit the exact combination of pre-programmed moves. Rainbow III provides a "hammer" that allows you to break free if you get bogged down which makes the whole game exciting to play. I have restarted and restarted several levels trying to complete it. Very frustrating and tedious. These are terrific fun games...but get Rainbow Web III...don't frustrate yourself on I and II.
