It's really surprising that players are so enthusiastic about this kind of games. I've played much better games with only 3.5 stars. I can't believe this one was given 4.5 stars. It offers nothing original whatsoever. The same old HO scenes that make your brain a blur, the same old screwdrivers and crowbars... I often wonder whether the authors of these games think we are some kind of electricians or handymen. Nothing exceptional in the design or look of the game. Half way through you've already forgotten the story. It starts OK, but then they just loose it. Not below average, but nothing special either.

The best points of this game are:
1. Excellent graphics, music and voiceover (British/Scottish accent for a change);
2. Enchanting story, fairy-tale atmosphere with a plot that doesn’t require the use of the good old crowbar, wrench or screwdriver;
3. Interesting characters who always have something funny to say;
4. Different and quite challenging puzzles and surprising tasks.
Really refreshing!
I recommend this game!

I hadn't had much hope for this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. The story has sense which is not always the case in these games. The graphics, music and voiceovers are excellent. There is some talking to reckon with, but I didn’t find it as annoying as in other games, maybe because of the British accent.
There is some exorcising to do, but otherwise the game is not as scary to give you nightmares. Possible spoiler: I really loved the scenes where you have to attack the spirits with the cross, quite funny.
The puzzles are neither too easy nor too difficult, but still challenging and innovative (the search for lucky clovers in a field of clovers). The HOGs were not annoying at all, the objects were clear and not difficult to find. And they were limited in number.
The hint button got confused a couple of times and wasn’t sure where to send me next. And the cursor movement was a little wobbly in the last chapter; for a moment, I thought that the game was going to crash. I was going to give it 4 stars because of this, but I really liked it, so I stuck to 5 stars.
I recommend this game!

I've tried this game three times and gave up (not finishing the demo!). I can't comment on the storyline, but I've really hated searching for small particles of things in badly lit rooms. It got a little bit better after adjusting the brightness, but it was still annoying enough to give up the game. I've had some technical problems as well; the cursor wasn't moving smoothly and the loading took ages.
I don't recommend this game.

I've played this game I couple of years ago and haven't finished it then (maybe it was just a demo, can't recall). I remember liking it, so I've bought it to finish it. I couldn't. I loved the story and the atmosphere and wanted to find out who the killer was, but the horrible HOGs prevented me from doing it. The game is simply too old, not at all like the games they make nowadays. It's based on HOGs that destroy your eyes completely. And you have penalties for clicking. Some of the puzzles are very complicated, not at all intuitive, some of them are OK. So, I still don't know who the killer was!
I don't recommend this game.

I expected an average game (since it's not a shiny Collector's Edition), but was pleasantly surprised. True, it's just another ghost story, but the storyline is interesting. The epilogue at the end was a surprise. I wasn't sure how the story will end. The game is quite long. There is a right amount of creepiness, not too scary. Loved the music!
The objects in the HOGs are easy to find, a relief for me. The HOGs are interactive and imaginative, as well as funny. I was not in the least fed up with them. Nice change! They even have sparkles, if you wait long enough, and explanations for the interactive bits. (I played the easy mode.)
The hint button recharges fast and is helpful when you get stuck. The challenge level is quite OK; sometimes it’s actually not that obvious what you have to do. The puzzles were rather easy, though, maybe a little bit too easy.
I recommend this game!

Apart from some freezing up on my older cumputer, this game was perfect. It’s beautifully done, lengthy (including the bonus chapter) and challenging in a good way. The HOGs are clear and the puzzles pretty tough, but there is always the Skip/Reset button if you get stuck or you lose patience. The game offers three levels of difficulty, achievements, and very useful hints. The storyline is decent and there are some creepy moments when you are startled by demons, ghosts or werewolves jumping towards you (usually, I don’t like to be scared in this way, but I didn’t mind it here because it’s repetitive and it becomes funny with time). The search for objects and the application of them is challenging as well, but more or less logical (the crowbar being particularly useful). I really recommend this game if you like puzzles.
I recommend this game!

I didn't and lived to regret it. I was looking forward to this game so much that I bought it straight away. It started great: amazing graphics, eerie atmosphere, just as I love it—but then it turned into a nightmare. The morphing objects I didn't mind, although they are not always easy to find. Some of them are definitely too small and the “morphing” is not the only movement in the scene. You have rainfall, wind and other disturbances to reckon with. And forget about random clicking, because the MOs you’ve already found return to the screen if you exaggerate.
What this game really lacks is the story, the logic and puzzles you can solve without pen and paper. I didn’t miss the HOGs because I’m not a big fan of them, but what I can’t do without is a chance to use inventory items in a logical, intuitive way. Here, the gameplay rarely made any sense. I played the Casual mode but still managed to miss sparkles on many occasions (I could swear they weren’t there at all), so I didn’t have the clues to what to do next and I had to check the Strategy Guide. Eventually, I simply stopped trying and just followed the SG. Not that it was much help anyway, because it’s awful (only screenshots of what to do). What’s the point in playing, then?
The puzzles made no sense whatsoever. There were no instructions what to do, but for the insufficient explanation in the SG. A bunch of numbers you had to write down on a paper (they were not recorded in the diary) and use them to calculate another bunch of numbers. I have neither the patience nor the time for things like that, but they may still work for some people. I solved some of the puzzled by accident, the rest (90 %) I just skipped. And the door tokens after each chapter, was that some sort of a sick joke? You had to find tiny images (e.g. door hinge) from the tokens in the game scenes and align them.
Is this really a CE? There is no extra gameplay (I’m not sure whether this is a pity or not), but apparently you can play more morphing/hidden objects scenes in the journal—I’ve managed to miss that somehow, but just as well.
For me, playing this game was a very frustrating experience. A BIG disappointment!
I don't recommend this game.

Good points: beautiful graphics, some cute and original twists and puzzles, 5 hints that recharge quickly
Bad points: non-responsive objects in the HOGs and in general; difficulties finding the inventory objects, necessary to proceed with the game (non-responsiveness to clicking); some of the puzzles are quite nice, others completely illogical; difficulties finding objects in HOGs, especially in underwater scenes where screen panning is available, so you don't even know in which part of the screen you should search; a lot of the objects appear as shadows or reliefs (at the end I stopped searching and used hints instead, otherwise I would have stopped playing); exiting the HOG scene after clicking an object (some of them are so close to the edge); confused and childish storyline; the game is quite short (not sure if this is a good or a bad point, considering its quality)
In general, playing this game was more irritating than relaxing. I bought it with game credits I had to spend and had no time to try it out first.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is simply amazing. Intriguing storyline and overwhelming atmosphere keep you on your toes all the time. The graphics are good, the settings and the music beautiful. HOGs are not annoying, which is always a relief for me. There are not interactive, but the objects are clear and you can find them quickly. Mini games and puzzles, on the other hand, are challenging enough to keep your interest going. There are a lot of them as well. The chapters of the story (levels) take place in different situations, so you don’t have to return to the same scenes all the time and you don’t get bored. No wandering about, searching for missed objects and trying to make sense of it all! The bonus chapter in Collector’s Edition is quite long, indeed, and quite creepy as well, so definitely worth buying!
I recommend this game!
