WOW it is SO REFRESHING to see the more computer (Playstation-like), more computerized graphics!!!!! I also adore games that have the find the "object in the bubble" to complete a further task. This game has a feel of many of the ADVENTURE GAMES of the past, but you've added fun things like HOP.
I have played just about every demo BFG put out since 2008-09. This game gets AAAA+++++ ACROSS THE BOARD. Except for the storyline. Cutscenes were off the hook. Voice overs perfect. Graphics refreshing and gorgeous.

Although, as beautifully as it was done.... the storyline dragged down the entire feel of this game. It was bland and boring.
GEEZ, IF ONLY.... I wish so bad THIS DEV could make a game like Mysteries of the mind: COMA, or Reincarnations- Back to Reality. Those 2 have it perfected, story-wise but due to the older age..... are lacking with cutscenes/maps etc. of the newer games. Where you are playing to save different storylines & characters in them....

Total gameplay for SE around 4.5 to 5hrs.
Total gameplay for BONUS play took me 2 hrs. Total= around 6.5 to 7 hours for all gameplay,
plus the secret room, I wasted 35 more minutes in trying to obtain enough stars for the 2nd SCREENSAVER. I never did unlock it, as you needed all the flowers and to replay the minigames & ho to collect stars for it.
Total gameplay for BONUS play took me 2 hrs. Total= around 6.5 to 7 hours for all gameplay,

IF YOU WANT THAT 2ND SCREENSAVER, YOU MUST COLLECT ALL THE FLOWERS, SO GO BACK BEFORE SE ENDS! Because after the end of SE, there is no way to go back.... The "secret room" has 6 characters. Each Character asks you to re- play a ho game and a minigame. I only had enough flowers for 3 characters so I played and played until each character had 100% completion next to the stars. It wasn't enough, and it was frustrating.
THE first SCREENSAVER is great though. Its of the area where the kid is in the tree in front of the orphanage, birds fly & wind whips....really cool, and the BEST thing is IT STAYS IN THE COMPUTER AFTER YOU REMOVE THE GAME!!!

And I always "send to" D:\ and save the opened screensaver to a disc from your documents file, where the scr. saver is loaded to.
Which is brilliant, because as I've mentioned before to developers.... It will be a reminder to me, EVERY time my screen sits idle....how much I loved this game and want to buy the next one....even if its a subliminal message!

I have to admit, I actually liked the xtra bonus gameplay BETTER than the main game. It is worth the extra credit to go back and purchase the CE if you decide initially you only want the SE.... but remember you will be missing out!!
DEAR ELEPHANT GAMES.............. First and foremost, you hear so many people complain, and you obviously put SO MUCH love, sweat and tears into these games in hopes to please us. I just wanted to take the time to let you know how great this game was-- and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am a HUGE fan of SCREENSAVERS and 9 times out of 10 I will buy a game that has them. But next time....pretty please let us have all the screensavers up front #like in Grim Tales, bloody mary#. Also, we want to see BEHIND THE SCENES... so instead of the secret room or concept art.... please introduce yourselves to us, we big fishers see you as stars and want to know you! I am one that NEVER replays the ho or mini-gm in a CE because I just have way too many games I've purchased to play instead of re-doing ho & mini games I've already done....so keep in mind your target audience -- the members who buy and buy..... and I hope you will take these suggestions to heart. Also, the best storylines are the paranormal type, best I've seen is the reincarnation series, paranormal pursuit, & Mysteries of the mind-COMA... CAN YOU GIVE US MORE LIKE THAT??

All in all, this IS one of those CE's worthy of the money.
all bonus gameplay is new or revamped and the interviews, pictures, and screensaver made this one a BUY for me, here is why!

The full SE took me around 3 hours, and bonus play approx. 2 hrs. I bought the CE for the SCREENSAVER it has. You have to complete all play to unlock it. It saves to the documents file of your computer, and what I do is save the screensaver to a CD so you don't really have to replay the entire game to unlock them for other computers you may own. This SS is cool with Rose standing in front of the lake -its same as the boot screen- and lightning strikes and her dress flows in the wind.
OTHER EXTRAS: a walk through guide,wtg, which I used a lot because this is an older game with no map and a lot of back and forth. The wtg has 53 pgs. The SE is pg 1 to 37 and Bonus play is 38-53.
10 wallpapers, 20concept art -and 11 of these are 3 levels of a how a character is drawn. I'm not usually a fan of concept art but I loved how they added those 11 characters so I put them in a file, under my pictures and set them to change pictures via making a "theme" in control panel. There are 6 music tracks that you can save.
INTERVIEWS: There are 2, approx. 2 min. interviews in Russian -assumed-with English sub text. I LOVED the out of the box thinking with these great little videos that show us in the first one, a tour around Kislova, and the 2nd is a tour of the cemetery which you see in bonus play- and the people, places and things that inspired this game. Next time would be cool if we could have an English narrator because a video is visual and its hard to read and see the video at the same time. I still adored it and just played it twice to see everything. The graphics in the first addition of Vampire Legends weren't nearly as good as the 2nd, which has since come out and I bought that CE too.

The story is all about Rose, and helping her. I loved her character, so that was great. We only briefly meet her in the SE, so it was fun seeing a lot of this beautiful character.

2. Bedroom NEW 3. room off bedroom 4.Churchyard OLD but revamped 5. I've been playing these games for years, and the kingdom games just aren't for me, this story has been done to death.
There are some adorable animals in this game and I think it would appeal to the younger set.
The bonus had a lot of concept art and only 4 wallpapers (in 4 sizes) Concept art, and music to save really aren't on my list of go out of my way to buy for a CE.
Really wasn't a fan of the hand drawn- or hand painted aspect of this game either. I prefer more computerized graphics that are crisp and easy to see your way around a scene, especially if your hunting for hidden objects.
I don't recommend this game.

I just love the more computerized graphics that this game has, rather than badly drawn room perspectives that are off.... so this dev is one of my favorites for perfect art. Cut-scene, voice acting all get A+, this developer has that nailed, too. Lighting, special effects, maps, hints all of it perfect.
I'm actually one to love helpers, that is if they aren't too far fetched. Demon looking helpers, elfs and robots of any kind are a flunk. I am a lover of dog helpers like in the new Dark Dimensions or, Elf in Mystery trackers, & even the little ermine in Sable Maze was adorable!
But yikes.... a dress up Barbie? I wonder how many meetings they had thinking maybe not a great idea UNLESS you are a 7 to 10yr old girl, this is probably a game you will LOVE.
Usually I can get by a bad story if the gameplay is good enough, but I kept finding the story getting weirder and weirder with flying witches....and her broken "essence" it just wasn't for me.
I so wish they would just bring back the "list" type of ho scene, and I love lots of them in a hidden object game. I find it so weird when big fishers complain there are too many hop in a ho game,,,,, Ever hear of Adventure gaming? These folks would probably prefer something like Nancy Drew.... its never meant to be a hidden object game.
But yikes.... a dress up Barbie? I wonder how many meetings they had thinking maybe not a great idea UNLESS you are a 7 to 10yr old girl, this is probably a game you will LOVE.
Usually I can get by a bad story if the gameplay is good enough, but I kept finding the story getting weirder and weirder with flying witches....and her broken "essence" it just wasn't for me.
I so wish they would just bring back the "list" type of ho scene, and I love lots of them in a hidden object game. Storylines are hard to be creative with-- with the AMOUNT of games out here, but these are by far, the best storylines I've seen out of 100's of games...... Mysteries of the Mind:Coma, The reincarnation series, Redemption cemetery series, especially the first ones.

I wish so bad they would write another story like Mysteries of the mind:Coma,,,, the game was so fun when you got to reverse the outcome! Geez, I just noticed that is a theme with ALL the games I like above,,,, you can reverse a bad outcome for your character and play different landscapes with each new story!!!

So drop concept art--add a screen saver, from all reviews I've read meeting the cast is always a hit, you guys are superstars to us-- we want to meet you and see behind the scenes!

For those of you that love the SE enough and decide to go back for the CE.... this is one that's worth it.
This game, like the others in the series, just can't let you down. Every second I was playing I couldn't wait to see the next beautiful scene.
SUPER ATTN TO DETAILS... They managed to add little things to the story that come together a little at a time with care taken to the cut scenes and when you watch them, to travel into the past....a blast...
SE: took me close to 5 hours. I LOVED the end to the SE and it stands on its own....BUT.... if you did love this SE like I did....it IS WORTH EVERY PENNY TO GO BACK AND GET THE CE. Here is why....
CE goodies and Bonus.... In each scene you hunt for a morphing item. Approx. every other scene you hunt for STATUETTES and each one is a character in the game which can be viewed in a separate area to know the character and storyline better. Each time you collect 4- You are able to return to the bonus area and view a little movie that explains the story more. It was just ingenious!
I am not normally one that tries for all the acheivements but they made viewing the ones you did get by clicking the Achieve...and it comes forward to pat you on the back. Loved it.
THE SCREENSAVER ALONE IS WORTH THE PURCHASE OF THE CE. It shows Elizabeth up on the cliff with her dog and birds fly in and out and wind blows....Initially I bought the CE for the Screensaver (Its my thing#.... and it even stays in the game after you remove the game! More ingenious.

the CE bonus took me 1hr33min.
I noticed there are 4 re-used areas, bonus starts in the "backyard", to "Lobby" to "gallery" to Workshop. But there are also 4 new areas.... when you travel back in time again. they are called, Castle porch, Hall, armory, and the gorgeous "forest edge" at the end. I found the names to these areas in the bonus's map. Is the CE worth buying.... In my opinion, YES!!!!
IF YOU LIKED THIS GM FOR ITS BEAUTY & FUN: You will probably like:
-All of the Grim Tales to date are great, especially The wishes.
The Rite if Passage series -they are all great too... and another beautiful series Dark Dimensions,
and Sable Maze: Sullivan River -note the bonus on this one is as good as the whole game put together.-

This is by far one of my favorite games of all time. I bought & played it 6-2012. I play so many Big Fish games I actually keep (up to 3 now....)notebooks. This is what I wrote: The graphics are crystal clear and the cut scenes are beautiful. The SE took me about 5 hrs 50min
BONUS PLAY: took me 2hr 45min (what some games as se play time....) I noted I loved the ending to the bonus and that it is needed to actually understand the past of the house.
The only changes I would have made....to drop the concept art and give us a SCREENSAVER (that stays installed after the game is removed) it would help you to remember how much you love a game and need to buy the CE of the next one.....
ps.... I have also finished and adored H1000d family secrets and loved that one too.
