Through this game I could learn about American history and get a glimpse on what the people and life looks like back in the 1940s America. There are 4 characters with unique personalities, one is wackier than the other.. the puzzles are unique, sometimes weird (not sure if people really play golf in 1940s) and many of them revolves around that sport. I don't really like that we use bird eye view when driving, and there're not many places to explore.. Some of the conversations are not that useful and don't make much sense with the game, and unfortunately we cannot skip them. Still, it is an exciting game to play :)
This game has a lot of potential.. lots of interesting characters, good storyline, exciting ending, but too bad the length of the game does not really measure up. I can finish this game within 4 hours and it is just way too short for a large file game. It should have been better .
The Good: - Great storyline - Cute marine mammals, and we can also learn about them - Good sound quality, not much with the visual, but I don't expect much from it since it is an old installment of ND games - Interesting puzzles connecting with the storyline - Characters with unique personalities - Great (and rather funny, too) ending
The Bad: - Nothing much really. I do enjoy this game and play it over and over!!
The Good: - Interesting storyline and story background - Lots of characters to interact with - Opportunity to learn about US geography - Variety of puzzles and mini games
The Bad: - Redundant music.. it plays over and over and gets boring - Not many places to explore or go to - Ending puzzle is weird and doesn't make any sense - Too many tasks or duties on behalf of other people, so not much snooping going on
Still I think it is one of the best new ND games :)
The Good: - They're getting better!! with soundtracks and more puzzles, the best Ravenhearst so far! - more interaction.. lots of things to do and more places to explore - Creepy atmosphere - Variety of puzzles and mini games - Great game length
The bad: - Can't really find any aside from the very slow recharged hint button..
The Good: - Although the detail is not as intricate as Syberia 2, I can still feel the coldness :) - Quite a lot of interaction with characters, although mostly with the phone's - Interesting storyline and characters personality - Variety of puzzles and games - Great length, I played it for 4 days with around 2-3 hours each time - Unexpected ending
The Bad: - Nancy is doing more household work than snooping.. the lodge owner seems to treat her like a worker instead of being thankful to her for helping her finding the culprit, making it a bit depressing and annoying - No skip button.. the Fox and Geese game drives me crazy at times
I think this game will be perfect for summer, at least I feel a bit chilly while playing this game! ^^
The Good: - The graphics are excellent, very well detailed (always what you expect from 'Play Pond') - Music is creepy and really fits the story - Nice narration
The Bad: - All are HOG scenes, very very few mini games, and most of the items are junks piled up together - Scenes are either too dark, blurry,or too bright, making it difficult to find the items - Storyline is not that impressive, you are basically playing the characters who are the victims of the headless horseman. When you are done with the game, it feels unfinished and no sense of accomplishment after finishing the game - Mini games are repetitive, and there's no skip button
I hope the game could have been made like Penny Dreadfuls: Sweeny Todd or Phantom of the Opera. The 'legend of sleepy hollow' could have made an interesting story, too bad this game cannot go farther than a hidden object game
PLUSES: - great storyline and unexpected ending - setting in Europe, my favorite for a game! - nice graphic, very well drawn - good voice overs although it's just Dana narrates her steps to next level - variety of puzzles and mini-games, although some are repeated on different levels - very minimal backtracking
MINUSES" - SO MANY puzzles and mini-games! There are very few HOG, which I think I can count with my ten fingers, and mini games like every 5 minutes and consecutive, even 3 times in a row. It is exciting at first but then it gets frustrating and annoying. - Hint recharge very slow

BFG surprises me with this game for weekend. I immediately buy it after 10 minutes demo and here's why: + PLUSES: - it gives you a CE version of a SE; it has it's strategy guide, extras, for the price of an SE -> biggest plus - excellent graphic, the scenes look so real - voice overs, and they're pretty good too! - spooky music, although some are repetitive during the HOG scenes - creepy atmosphere - lots of HOG and few mini-games, my kind of game :D
the downsides are: - the setting, which is used over and over again: abandoned asylum, former or current patient, etc.. - abrupt ending with no clear conclusion - some chapters are long, the others are not, making the game length quite short - mispelling of some items in the HOG scenes, like I'm looking for 'hummer' and turns out to be 'hammer' - HOG scenes are dark and items difficult to see - a lot of backtracking and no map
Still, the pluses are more important to me so that's the reason I'm buying it. Try the demo and hope you'll like it too!
