I love felines of any species and really wanted to like this game, but couldn't get beyond the lack of reason behind game actions.
To start, the vet leaves--unrestricted--a sick cat in the same room as her pets, then gives it milk (which causes digestive upset in most cats) plus medicine in an open dish in the same area. She keeps her vet kit in the barn, not close at hand in the house, which she then uses only once. It's "eternal winter" with snow falling and there's a huge hole in the cabin window after the leopard attack, but there's no effort to repair or cover the window, just a comment "I hope that leopard won't bother me again."
When not playing challenging strategy and/or TM games, I like fun, relaxing games, and I usually like games from Blam, but I wasn't interested in continuing to play this simplistic game, even with the Daily Deal.
My title says it all. Note that you can turn off tutorials if you are annoyed by excessively explicit instructions.
This is definitely a strategy TM game, not just click-and-drag. And it's not as easy as some reviewers indicate (I wonder how many levels they actually played). I've completed about a third of the game and had to replay several locations in order to get all available stars. This is definitely a challenging game, but not frustratingly so.
I like having multiple stages at most locations, with different goals and strategies at each.
It's not a perfect game--very few are!--but I will definitely replay it at least once, my personal requirement for a 5 rating.
Hidden object games are not my favorite (I purchased it because of the lack of TM games), so I was delightfully surprised at much I enjoyed this game. Among other things, I appreciated the flexibility of being able to customize my settings.
Although I usually select HO alternatives whenever offered (in this game, Match 3), because of the diversity and quality in this game -- no dark scenes with tiny, barely recognizable items -- I found myself opting to play the HO scenes most of the time. Must admit I was happy to switch to Match 3 if I hadn't quickly found the last couple items.
I enjoyed the quality and variety of the mini-games, including some types I had not seen elsewhere.
I'm not sure why other reviewers were unhappy with Harlequin, as I appreciated the "heads up" about a needed future action.
Finally, I appreciated the game organization: three "chapters" plus a concluding section. This type of organization allows me to play one section then, when I come back later, I don't have to rediscover what went on before. In this case, however, I played straight through and truly enjoyed doing so.
My favorite type of game is time management. This is the first time I have absolutely detested a TM game. It's boring -- bad enough -- and even when you meet all stated goals (as displayed on the game counter), the game doesn't necessarily accept that the level should end. At least on the first few levels, there's little strategy involved, just click and drag, click and drag. I lasted five levels before I uninstalled the game. In case it isn't obvious, I definitely do NOT recommend this game.
...but I really enjoyed this one! Because there aren't enough time management and strategy games available (IMHO), I rarely play hidden object games. This is an extremely good one, though, and I'm happy I bought it.
I played on Easy for a relaxing game and actually found myself enjoying many of the HO scenes, with their "builds" -- not the usual find-the-tiny-object exercise found in most HO games. I truly enjoyed the mini-games. The variety and quality of HO scenes and mini-games is excellent.
Minor quibbles: The game could have used a journal, for players who want to limit their use of hints and the map. The small amount of background information in the tapes could have been covered in notes, as other info was. The map should not abut the hint button (too easy to click the wrong button). Finally, the ending was a bit hokey. However, these are all minor and overall, I enjoyed the game (although I won't replay it, which is my personal measure of a 5-point game).
I agree with all of the negative comments made by other reviewers. I'm glad I purchased this at the Daily Deal special price, but for me, even that was a waste of money. This game is at best "ho hum," but I kept playing, thinking it had to get better to have rated the 4 and 5 star reviews. It didn't. If anything, it got worse.
Although I'm an expert gamer, I often play games at easy or normal levels, for relaxation. I replay good games when there are no new games I want to buy. I've already deleted this game from my iMac because I would never want to replay it.
Its only redeeming feature -- if you're a beginner to this type of game or want an easy game to play and like collecting objects, it's worth the sale price (which is why I rated it as a "2" rather than a "1"). Otherwise, forget it.
I don't usually go for games based on love stories (often too saccharine for my taste), and hidden object games are not my favorite -- I love time management games but sometimes play more relaxing games when I want to "kick back."
I was immediately drawn into this game. I probably wouldn't have tried it if it hadn't been today's Daily Deal. After playing for 20 minutes, I bought the game, and I'm glad I did. It was immensely enjoyable, moderately challenging if you don't want to use hints, and very relaxing. Truly a "feel good" game!

I really wanted to like this game (which isn't nearly as good as others from ERS). The lack of a notebook as well as numerous problems I encountered playing mini games -- perhaps because I'm Mac-based -- resulted in a lot of frustration. Although there is a map, if you don't keep lots of ongoing notes, you will need to use the Hint button frequently.
I had to retry one mini-game a couple dozen times because I could not complete the mini-game or continue with the game (the Hint button indicated "I've done everything I can here" but the game would not continue until the mini game was completed). I get *very* determined when challenged, or I would have quit the game at that point. I wish I had.
I felt there was also somewhat of a disconnect between the "cutesy" aspect of a lot of the game and the darker aspects, such as shooting birds.
I'm sorry I wasted the time I spent playing this game. I have deleted it from my computer, as there is no way I would ever want to play it again. Some may like this game. I did not.

Well done! I rarely buy Match 3 games -- I'm not particularly dexterous and usually stick to strategy and adventure games -- but I enjoyed playing the trial so much I immediately purchased the game.
The instructions were adequate, and the games challenging -- especially when deciding whether to right-click or left-click to quickly achieve desired results. I appreciate games such as this that I can play for as little or as much time as I chose without losing the thread of the game.
If you enjoy time management games, you should try this one. I've played 15 levels so far and found the game to be challenging on the timed mode of play (assuming you're trying for the gold star on all levels). The game played quite smoothly on my iMac.
A nice touch is the ability to click on the "?" icon if you need help with strategy to reach gold. I agree the dialog translation could have been improved, but this is par for many of these games. I suggest skipping the introductory dialog at the beginning of each level, as you don't learn anything further about the game.
There were a number of complaints about the plethora of goblins. Tip: if you click immediately before them, you rarely have to click more than once or twice to send them running.
Perfect? No. But then, I don't expect perfection in such inexpensive games (especially with special pricing) -- I pay much more for a movie that lasts a fraction of the enjoyable playing time provided by a majority of the games BF offers. If there is a sequel to this game, I will definitely try it.
Note: there really have not been many good TM games released for us Mac users lately. Adelantado Book 1 is my current favorite, but that's only because the several sequels aren't available on Mac.
