I am at the end of a long line of reviewers for this game, so am in no doubt that this review will go unseen. No matter, I'll still put it out there. First tried this game a long time ago - couldn't get out of the main room. At that time I was a match-3 player and just could not get my head around what the game was about.
Things have changed a bit since then, guess you'd say I've graduated. Moved from match-3 to HO but after a while that just gets so TEDIOUS! Constantly looking for badly drawn junk in junk piles. Then moved to straight adventure and that was why Drawn - Painted Tower was so appealing. No HOs!
Drawn is indeed well drawn - pun intended, but it could have been so much better. The fact that you have to wait for each and every scene to "load", even though you have been there before, gives a clunky quality to the game which surely could have been avoided. Have never experienced that before. The mini games are good, but again, fall just short of the mark. For goodness sake, is it so hard to give us directions about the puzzle?? That is so annoying! You look at it and have no clue about how to approach solving it.
Franklin is not really helpful either. He has "set" responses when you hit the Hint button, it's like he is not really "looking" at your game play so see where you really are. Grr. For saying all that bad stuff though, I did enjoy the game - it's just that it could have been so much better. Will probably use a game credit to get the next Drawn in the series, hope it's a little better than this one though.
I recommend this game!

The original Gardenscapes was one of my first games - so pleased there is now another version. Currently playing it at a mate's place while on holiday, will absolutely purchase when I get home. The REAL fun for me is utilising the $25 bonus when you click on objects quickly, one after the other. If you can earn over $2000 per round then you are playing it smart.
Actually, having said this was one of my first games, it took me a while to realise that other games did NOT have a "camera" or a "thermometer" in order to quickly locate items. Hey, where's the camera, I'm thinking.
This is not a hard game by any means, it's value is entirely in the fun of it - and the challenge you set yourself to beat your dollar value of the previous rounds.
Would love to see Austin and Trevor #my name for the doggie# back in another version, this time perhaps the back yard, swimming pool, tennis court, a pavilion#?# and #dare I say it ..# a stable with a horse or two. Come on devs, keep this wonderful game going
I recommend this game!

Elephant has set the bar pretty high in this game. Graphics are awesome, story is brilliant - can't comment on music as I always turn the music way down, just a preference.
Intriguing that you have to walk away from some HOS without completing them due to an item not being in your inventory. That's right, some of the stuff you collect is actually required to be added to the HOS, what a clever idea!
I was aware that I had to be red-hot about collecting the red flowers, but I still only found 59 out of 60 (ggrrrr). You fall about 10 flowers short at the end of the game - ah ha! The remaining flowers are in the bonus game! I don't quite see how that's going to work with the SE though, unless you get bonus play with that edition also.
Forced myself to walk away at the end of each chapter - one way to prolong the pleasure of this game I guess, when what I REALLY wanted to do was stay at the computer and continue to follow each new development until I passed out from exhaustion.
This is truly one of the best games I have played and in a few months I'll play it again - this time I'll find ALL those flowers!
I recommend this game!

First up, I loved the LOGIC of this game. I always knew pretty much what I had to do and set about doing it. The graphics are brilliant, as they are in all the Echoes of the Past games, and the music is good too. The actors' voice-overs got a bit cheesy and lost a little creditability. After all, we are talking Kingdoms, and Princesses right? Why then voice some of the castle occupants in broad, twangy, southern american accents. Nah, not believable.
The CE gives a bonus adventure which is pretty good - warning, no extra mirrors from HO scenes on the bonus, so at the end of the SG, what hints you have, that's all you get to keep. Found I didn't really need them fortunately, just took a little longer to look and think it through.
This game should appeal to beginners and intermediate players - the experts would probably breeze through it fairly quickly - though hopefully spending some time to appreciate the beauty of the graphics. Actually these graphics are on a par with those from the Puppet Show games - which says a lot!
Will DEFINITELY be on the lookout for more Echoes games, surely there's a few more miles left in that witch!
I recommend this game!
