One of the puzzles at the end said I had 2 moves from top or bottom and I would only get one. I didn't get it. In general the puzzles were excellent and different than usual. But my greatest delight was the storyline. Normally I ignore the story for the puzzles but this is the first to capture my interest.
I recommend this game!

I got almost to the end and Elf the dog disappears and I needed him to complete the game. I am starting over again which is a pain. This is the first time I've hit a glitch like this. Hopefully 2nd times the charm. Other than that the game is great but I have to give it 3 stars because I couldn't finish first time thru.

My first casual game was Mystery Case and I was hooked. This one is the best yet. I love the items changing instead of hidden objects and the puzzles are great a very challenging. I skipped 2 out of frustration. The story line was excellent and the old guy playing the son deserves an award as does the villain of the piece Marcus. The only nit is the strategy guide is vague. Can't have everything. Highly recommend.

I play occasionally that is why I do casual games. This one took me 2 months off and on playing. Very good and well worth the price.
I recommend this game!

I have been playing these games for years and I like them a lot. This one is one of the most challenging I've played to date. Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper was the hardest and I gave up as the ingame instructions were miserable. This one provides great instructions and 2 of the puzzles were too much for me and I had to skip. Instead of looking for 1 type of object for a collection this one has several types including phantom objects. Storyline, graphics, music all fantastic. I have to find more games like this.
I recommend this game!

First, I'm in my 60's. 2nd, I've played a lot of these. 3rd, I don't have time to play hour upon hour. Well yes I do but I don't. I like this game but the puzzles were not intuitive and the instructions were vague. I had to cheat a lot to solve them and some I just skipped in frustration. The Logo puzzle did not work as advertised and I skipped it. I am going to play this again and hopefully do better on the puzzles as I understand them. My only criticism is that the instructions for puzzles should have been more detailed. I think the storyline and other things were great. I keep reading how the kids solve these things in no time. I think they are just bragging.
I recommend this game!

I used to do adventure games in the old days and never was able to finish them. The new generation such as Mystery Case Files are doable albeit with a little help from a walkthru once in a while. I've always found MCF superior to others and Shadow Lake is no different. They've stepped it up and the story line was really good. There is a new feature instead of connecting puzzle pieces you connect moving squares as a way to get to another step in the story.
Another thing I liked was that you had to go to various screens to find all the objects and drawings. Lea Thompson is delightfully hammy as Cassandra and I got quite a chuckle out of her acting. Now I'm in my 60's and do this on and off about an hour or 2 at a time and no I can't solve a puzzle in 10 seconds but I hope those that say they do are doing as well in school. The only thing I didn't like was the strategy guide which is lame as you kids say, LOL! I think is was as good an MCF game as I've ever played and look forward to the next.
I recommend this game!
