This particular Puppetshow in the series meets expectations and is a good addition to the series.
PROS:
-Storyline is different from others in series, but not too different which allows it flow well with its previous competitors.
-Graphics excellent. Music goes well with game.
-I liked the added change to game that allowed me to select the character I wanted.
-Map available, hint works just as good to know where to go next.
-Good amount of HOS, not too many and not too less.
-Good number of puzzles.
-The conversational scenes were not too boring.
-The puppet that helps you throughout game was a nice touch to game.
-Plenty of Bonus content, a lot more than other games recently played.
-Bonus chapter helped the story continue.
CONS:
-many of the puzzles were a good challenge, but several were way too easy.
-Had a lot of trouble finding the bonus chapter as it was not labeled as bonus chapter in bonus contents. Ended up using forums to find it.
-Length was a tad short for me. Main game took right under 4 hours for me (about 3.5-4) and bonus too about an hour. I prefer longer games.
I recommend this game!

This game is good all around, not the best of the Surface series, but still very good.
PROS:
-Excellent graphics
-Interesting Scenes, not boring
-Storyline is different, but good. All the adults in town have disappeared because of a girls wish that a being known as the Wishmaster (?) messed up on purpose (he is evil) and tries to take over the child. Bonus is also interesting, as I made it to the end of the bonus chapter, I found out it was actually a prequel.
-Music fit the game and storyline pretty good.
-Plenty of puzzles and decent amount of HOS (not too many but not too little). The HOS varied in type which was nice so you werent playing the same type all the time (matching like pairs, conversational HOS, etc).
-Map, although I never used it. The hint worked faster to jump to the locations needed.
-Good amount of bonus content (music, wallpapers, etc).
CONS:
-A little to short in length for me. I finished in about 2.5 hours to 3 hours for main game play and about 1-1.5 hours for bonus play. I prefer games that take me longer than that.
-Most puzzles a little too easy. Able to complete all without skipping.
-HOS way too easy. Finished each scene in under 2 minutes, no hints used at all.
-In bonus content, there is a secret room. You have to unlock each person by finding those flowers (like other surface games) throughout game. Once the person unlocks, you can do a task for them. A hidden object scene and a puzzle that you all ready did in the game, so nothing new. Secret room seemed pointless in that area since you were just redoing HOS and puzzles.
-Ending of main game seem kind of weak.
I recommend this game!

This one in the series is good, but not as good as the first ones.
PROS:
-Great graphics
-Lots of Bonus content
-Enjoyable for those you like short adventures
-Map that tells you where you need to go (hint button can actually allow you to jump to location instead of using map as well).
-Good amount of varied HOS.
CONS:
-Way to easy compared to previous games. Was able to complete all puzzles with ease. HOS very easy.
-Storyline not the best
-Game to short in length. I finished main game in about 2-2.5 hours (I prefer games that take over 4-5 hours). Bonus was about 1 hour.
I only recommend this game to those who want very easy and short game play. Otherwise if you want more of a challenge and longer game play, I do not recommend.
I recommend this game!

This game was good, but not great. There are things the developers could have added to make the game much better and much better rating.
Pros:
-The storyline was very good. Blackjack's ghost is killing everyone in Deadwood after some men dug up his remains (he had killed in real life before his death as well). A boy named Billy is being chased in town by the ghost and you have to save him as well.
-Graphics and sound was very good.
-HOS were not hard at all and not cluttered.
Cons:
-There is no map at all so you are backtracking a lot.
-The hint option is ONLY available in HOS. So it is not useful when trying to find out what you have to do next. Game not clear on what to do next, so did have to resort to the walkthrough on BF site. That is extremely rare.
-A little too much dialogue.
-Journal was absolutely useless. It only keeps track of the other people/ghosts you meet and the story about them. It does not keep track of certain diagrams or codes or anything for puzzles.
-Too much of the same puzzle. Most was jigsaw puzzle. A few were combination,a couple where you just rotate the pieces into the right spot, and there were at least 2 puzzles were instead of jigsaw, you had to move the long pieces horizontally or vertically until you get the image. That takes a lot of time, too much time. Ended up skipping that particular kind.
This game really had potential. The developers could have done better.

I had actually purchased this in 2010, but forgot whether or not it was good since I didnt write a review on it. So I played it again. This is not a game that I will play a again. The tombstone puzzles were ok for the first 2-3, but having to piece together ALL tombstones (and there is a lot of them) was just plain ridiculous. On top of that, you had to find four of the same image on each tombstone (such as a pickaxe or bottle). Those were very hard to see.
In order to go to a new building, you had to complete a tombstone. When you go to a building, you need to find 3 flies outside so you can get a hint. Then you have to open the door with the key that you get from each tombstone. Then complete the HOS in order to get the next bag of tombstone pieces. This is the same routine for every single house and every single tombstone. That is the entire game. You dont go walking around from area to area either.
The graphics were "ok", def not the best. The sound/music was good. The HO scenes were ridiculous. Many of the items you cannot even see because it is stuff in a dark part of the area or blends in too much with other objects. Example would be a black bowtie. In one of the HO scenes, that was finally found on an object that was also black. Had to use a hint for that. Some of the house had one extra room where you had to find differences in 2 photos. The photos are all black, white, and tan. Very hard to even see the differences. If you exit the scene before finishing HOS or matching, you had to start the whole scene over. You are only given 2 hints in the beginning, and then once they are used, you have to find 3 flies outside buildings to get 1 hint. If you use the hint in the HOS, it takes 2 long minutes to refill to get 1 hint. So basically you walk in the building with 1, and for the most part walk out with 0 and have to search for flies at the next building. Pretty screwed up way of getting hints and reloading hints.
No adventure or "real" puzzles in this game. Piecing together the tombstone which is much like a jigsaw puzzle and and finding differences in photos in only a few of the houses is the only type you do in this game. I dont recommend this game. Boring.
I don't recommend this game.

Grim Tales: The Vengeance is not nearly as good as the previous ones. I really don't understand why it has such high ratings.
Pros:
-interactive map (hint works just as good for going to a location)
-excellent graphics
-some amusing scenes
Cons:
-Storyline was not good. I dont mind storylines being different in sequels, but this was too far out different. Your nephew is accused of killing his sister and you have to go back into the past somewhat to a specific time/event to find clues leading up to what really happened.
-Puzzles way too easy.
-HOS way too easy
-Too short. Main game took approximately 3 hours to finish. My kind of games take 4-5 or more hours. Bonus chapter was about an hour to 1.5 hrs (average).
-Many of the scenes seemed boring
-how you defeat the one who did it was really lame. No challenge at all.
-Game seemed slow when clicking on things or moving from one area to another....kind of buggy and sluggish. Other games worked fine on my computer so I have concluded it was the game.
The developers did not do well with this one in the series. I had high expectations since I have played so many, sadly this one did not really meet them.
I don't recommend this game.

Rite of Passage: Hide & Seek is a relatively good game, but not the greatest game.
A girl is playing hide and seek in the forest when another girl shows up asking to play. But instead of counting, she wants you to read this poem-like charm instead. You read it, and all the children including the brother disappear in fog that came with the girl. The father goes and looks for the brother and rest of the children and is never seen again. Many years later, you are an adult whose mother has just died (you moved from Greystone) and find a letter that was recently written and sent by her father whom she was told was dead by the mother. Apparently he and the mother agreed to never tell you while he was still searching and agreed for the mother and you to move away from the town. And then your adventure begins.
Pros
-Excellent graphics
-Interesting storyline
-Plenty of things to do
-Interactive map
-Lots of bonus stuff (more activities, wallpapers, music, etc)
Cons:
-Some of the scenes did seem a little slow.
-Puzzles were a little too easy
-Ending of main game seemed weak.
-Bonus chapter was too short compared to other games; the doll used throughout bonus was weird.
-The mini game where you had to find and place 4 items in the right place to continue the story (describes the story) was used too much. Was used every single time the background voice was talking about certain events that lead to the next event.
I recommend this game!

Very good game, but not worthy of 5 stars. The first Nevertales was better.
Pros:
-Interactive map
-Excellent graphics
-Loads of extras that seemed more entertaining than the main game
-Not too many HOS like other games
Cons:
-Puzzles seemed too easy. Hardly any challenge with them. Was able to complete all puzzles without skipping and under 1-2 minutes.
-Storyline seemed thin. Not the greatest storyline I have played.
-Main game too short. I finished main game in under 3 hours.
***The biggest plus in the game is the extras found in main game, bonus game, hidden chapters, etc.
You have the main game with the main storyline. The bonus chapter follows a slightly different storyline from Pierre's past where he met Belle (Alice's mother). Then you have 3 Hidden chapters can only be opened once you complete main game, bonus, and the puzzle where you find pieces throughout the main game and bonus. If you miss any of the pieces to this puzzle, after completion of main and bonus, you can click on the puzzle piece you need and it will take you to the location to find it.
There is also treasure hunt that also has to be completed before the hidden chapters open. When you click on the treasure hunt in the extras, it takes you through every single scene you have so encountered in main and bonus in which you have to find a specific item shown in lower left (cupcakes, jewelery, etc).
There are also many wallpapers you can use for desktop screen if you wish along with the music and concept art.
The extras made the game worth the price (I paid $7.99 with the summer deal) of $19.99.
I recommend this game!

I use to play Monopoly all the time growing up with family and friends. Each time we all had a fair chance at winning. With this one, you really have no chance. It seems like the computer pieces cheat every single game.
They can land on your property with less than 2 houses a lot, but as soon as you have a hotel, they never land on any of them. I had 9 properties all with hotels, not a single computer piece lands on them at all.
I also notice the pieces do not go the same number shown on dice. If one piece is on the chance between the red properties, and the dice says 10 or 12 (which would bring you to green properties...which I had hotels on), the computer piece will go 11 and land on the community chest and every single time is rewarded, mostly with advance to Go.
Seems like the makers wanted to make this unwinnable. At least with real people (4 players), we each have 25% chance of winning. With the computer version, seems like chances are like 1-5%. I have played this over 20 times, so far only managed to win 1.
I don't recommend this game.

This was an enjoyable game, but the length was too short in comparison to other games.
The storyline was interesting, but not the greatest. The baron hanged a well-known pirate. The pirate threw a necklace into the crowd in which a boy catches. The boy gives it to you. You are called in by the baron who wants you to find the treasure of the pirate or else the boy will suffer. You find out from the baroness that the baron wants proof that there was a relationship between the pirate and the baroness. As the game progresses, your crew turns on you wanting the treasure for themselves, and the baroness appears with a different look and you later find out she wanted the treasure for herself.
There weren't too many HOS. I didn't care for the HOS in this game for one reason. There is an extra HOS within the HOS itself. Example: you need to pick up the bundle of roses. You click on the roses and a new window pops up. You have to find several objects within the roses before picking up the roses.
If you don't like the HOS, you can play a matching game instead, which I liked much better. If you have ever played Bejeweled (on facebook or wherever# or Candy Crush Saga #Facebook#, this matching game is played much like that where you have to move some pieces around to get at least 3 matching things. There sometimes are bombs that explode when matched in which items around it disappear. There are also lightening ones that destroy all items in a "t" form #or cross#. Everytime you get rid of matching items, more falls down from top. Game is pretty easy.
The puzzles were way too easy. There was really no challenge in them.
The map was very useful since there was a lot of backtracking. It highlights which areas have an immediate task and you can transport yourself there using the map.
The bonus play was ok, not a very creative storyline for that.
There was quite a few bonus content available #wallpapers, concepts, minigames, bonus game, etc).
I did notice that when you are in the main menu of game and you click on extras or some of the other tabs, it seems to take a little longer to load than most games.
Length was too short for me. Main game was less than 4 hours. Bonus play was less than 1 hour.
