The artwork is very clear but the hidden object scenes are still very challenging which is a nice change. This game doesn't hold your hand like recent big developers' game do so it takes a little more thought to figure out where and what to do next.
There are little Russian dolls to find scattered throughout the game to collect and lots of interesting USSR tidbits to see.
This game is like being served a hamburger after a steady diet of candy and soda. Give it a try, you might enjoy "eating" something a little more substantial.
Granted, the graphics are muted in color and rather drab compared to other strategy/time management games but it kind of adds to the feeling of an Autumn harvest in a fantasy kingdom. Also, the scenes don't give me a headache from all the competing and jarring colors these type of games commonly have.
I played this repeatedly after I bought it, eventually decided to remove it to make room for other games and yet... here I am downloading it again because it keeps popping into my mind after nearly half a year. I enjoyed it so much and want to spend time with it again.
It's a challenging game and the graphics are easy on the eyes. It's a perfect way to spend some time away from reality.
I had seen these being sold here over the course of several years but never checked them out because I thought the graphics looked goofy. They *are* goofy looking but that adds to the charm and the game logic and mechanics are probably the best match 3 I've ever played. Their mini-games are great too, especially their find-the-difference that are surprisingly kind of difficult (which I like).
These are fun, challenging and definitely replayable. Every version has slightly difference mechanics so they're not a carbon copy of each other. Hours of fun here if you like match-3.
They've chosen to fill their clutter screens with a lot of browns and blacks this time around and it's really difficult for me to even see the boundaries of the objects, much less pick out the same ones. I liked the earlier colorful objects, these monotone ones not so much.
It's a really well made game and you can tell they put a lot of effort into thinking of new twists to keep things interesting but I regret buying this since it's so difficult to see.
Your mileage may vary depending on your vision, I guess. I grudgingly recommend this game.
I love horror movies and have watched them since I was a child but this game is so unrelentingly grim, I didn't finish it and deleted it off my computer.
For one thing, it's basically shades of brown throughout. The HOS were impossible to see things since they were all the same color... dirt.
For another, I don't need a game that shows me a corpse dissolving in acid or a rack of taxidermied faces from murder victims.
Fun story, beautiful visuals and a couple of times, I actually got goose bumps. As I get older, it's harder to keep my attention on things but I was riveted during the entire demo. It's definitely worth a look.
I've played it and the bonus chapter three times in the past week and I've never done that with a game before. There's no running back and forth for 15 different keys, all the actions are logical and *not* frustratingly inane.
I think Collins was a fun addition and he kind of softened the lead's crankiness. I'm not fond of that voice actress but overall, she did a good job. The visuals are very pleasing, the puzzles and hidden objects are challenging but (again) not frustrating and there's a lot of good stuff in the bonus area. Just a really great game.
The artwork in this is some of the best I've seen but it's the faces of the characters that really impressed me. Very realistic with amazingly life-like expressions and I appreciate that they had more mature characters. The game play was fun, the story was very clever and I didn't lose interest the entire time I played which is unusual lately since my interest in HOGs has diminished over time. Just a really well made and visually lush piece of art that celebrates the season.
It's a beautifully made game and it's very challenging the further you go but part of that is stopping to collect resources before they disappear in a few seconds and the items don't pick up instantly, sometimes you have to "wave" over it again. If you've got lumber, food and several houses that are spitting out items, that's basically all you have time to do. I'm not very good at this genre anyway and I find this kind of frustrating.
There's no untimed play although you still get one star no matter how long you take. The narrator's level of enthusiasm diminishes with each loss of star so it felt like she was disappointed in me. DON'T JUDGE ME, GAME!
You expert players would probably love it though and it's well worth a look.
A mysterious plague casts a dark shadow on the people of Persia. The young apothecary Tara must discover the cause of the illness before it's too late!
I'm really impressed with this game. Beautiful graphics, good story, very good voice acting, challenging game play without being frustrating or boring... there was even a transporter map. I look forward to seeing more of these if it's a series.
