I really enjoyed the demo and purchased the game because it's something a little different.
The main story is rather short - especially if you follow the step-by-step hint button (which is almost too useful). There are however several additional objectives, including side-quests, a range of achievements (I only got about half) as well as hunting/collecting and making money.
The game is a mix of adventure with rpg elements but is essentially a resource management game spread over a wide map (rather than level based).
There are multiple ways to acquire the resources you need and you get the opportunity to improve your character's abilities (which as far as I can tell all help resource management rather than actual skill, eg improving hunting reduces the risk of your weapon breaking or the creature escaping meaning you are more likely to get the resource you need - combat itself is always a certainty if those conditions don't happen).
I enjoyed the game and may continue to see if I can unlock all the achievements and finish the side-tasks (but at the same time, this feels a little pointless with the main story complete). If I ever replay it, I'll be more leisurely and use the hint button sparingly if at all.
I think this would be a great game if it were more fleshed out and a little more sandboxy, with greater areas to explore and different paths you can take (character-wise, eg focus on hunting or becoming a merchant).
I still recommend this as I had fun but it was over far too quickly and I never felt there was much point to what I was doing.
I would suggest that others don't play this as linearly as I did. Have fun running around, exploring, finishing side quests and trying to figure out the achievements. It's impossible to make a mistake you can't correct. You can buy and sell resources for around the same value so don't worry about getting rid of something you might need later. You can click through dialogue by clicking the actual text on the screen. Hunting resources eventually respawn, as do fishing/herb nodes and so on. There are also hidden crates and special items to find in each scene and these respawn also and give you free resources or gold. There is no quest log so you have to remember who needs what and where. The hint button only guides you through the main story.
As always, try for yourself and see :)
I recommend this game!

What a delightful soft release, this one really took me by surprise.
Gameplay is similar to Life Quest, Life Story, Magic Life but the look and style are different enough to make this game feel quite unique. Additionally there are little puzzles to solve and the occasional hidden object scene.
Graphics are dark and gothic, leaning towards realism, and suit the theme well. You are a vampire in love with a human and must find the cure for your condition so that your love can be realized.
Choose your gender, your appearance, your hair colour. Change your clothes, furnish and decorate your accommodation. You need to manage two separate energy levels (vigor and mana) but you don't need to sleep (you're a vampire of course!). These can be replenished in various ways from eating suitably vampirish dishes, watching the macabre circus, riding around on a variety of nightmarish steeds and get depleted when you work at your job, learn new skills and spells and attend classes.
My review is based on the demo and I can't comment on the full length of the game but I have a feeling it is on the shorter side. This is fine with me as the experience is enjoyable and promises replay value as there are different choices you can make.
This is something a little different from what is usually offered on this site, and thus refreshing to play and a lot of fun.
Give this a try if you enjoy micro-managing and character development. There are plenty of quests and tasks to keep you busy. The game is easy to learn and ran very smoothly.
I recommend this game!

Really poor game.
The hidden number scenes suffer from a terrible interface and monotonous game play. The numbers are easy enough to find but trying to click on them is a different story. There is a timer and the misclick penalty subtacts additional time from your limit. The numbers don't disappear once found and need to be clicked very precisely (often at a particular point within the number itself which becomes a guessing game).
Annoying music.
Story???
What's the goal or point? You just go from one scene to the next regardless of completing it.
Not even if it were free. Terrible.
I don't recommend this game.

I've played this game extensively online and it's one of the more entertaining tower defense games. Some of the twists include the option to transfer any 3 turrets from one level to the next (including fully upgraded ones).
The maps and enemies are interesting and varied, and there are multiple strategies you can employ in terms of placement, tower types and budget.
The free-to-play but pay-for-bonuses model seems to be new on this site and it's an interesting direction to take with this game. Game play is addictive and the interface is nicely handled, making upgrades and new turrets easy to handle. Towers can only be placed on designated spots, adding to the logistical challenge.
Great game for tower defense fans, and easy to learn for new players. Since it's free to play, I highly recommend giving it a try.
I recommend this game!

This is a Viking themed resource/worker game similar to the RoR and MKftP series. While charming with cute animations and characters, there is little to set this game apart. Fans of the genre may have a lot of fun with this addition.
Based on approximately 20 minutes of play:
- 3 modes of play (normal, multi-click and no time)
- no widescreen
- can replay levels to win up to 3 stars
- loading screen alternates between game tips and facts about Vikings
No complaints about what is offered. It's decent for this type of game but offers nothing interesting or innovative (beyond the multi-click option which I love).
I recommend this game!

Elephant Games set a particular standard in interactive story-driven HOPAs and previous players begin each new tale with certain (rather high) expectations. In Four Aces, the developers have once again produced a quality game to satisfy fans but also offer enough "tiny extras" to stay on top of their field and delight players with an excellent adventure.
This review is based on the demo (which I didn't complete).
Basics:
- set in an abandoned town (oh dear) but very well done, with strange animals (both mythical and extinct) running around
- excellent cinematics and frequent interspersion of well-integrated cut-scenes to progress the story
- 4 difficulty modes which can be adjusted during play. I played on the second mode.
- artwork is similar to Raincliffe (i.e. awesome)
- lovely animations and other details such as clear labels on paths you can take
- "extra clues"
- a dog companion called "Elf" who is a persistent inventory item and can be used to solve various tasks
- collect special coins to upgrade Elf's home
Other settings:
- 4 volume controls
- custom cursor
- fullscreen/widescreen
- special effects on/off
- GAMMA !! (love this option but didn't need it)
Hidden object scenes:
- interactive in a fun way that doesn't feel forced and fits the setting.
Puzzles:
- creative, easy to learn, take a little long to solve in my opinion but overall well done
Map:
- interactive, hover to see mini-views of the location, offers descriptions of the task that can be completed (if you find an inventory item in a different location) and instant-teleport
Strategy guide
- did not view as I was able to get by on hints when stumped. MT games are always a very decent length.
Hints:
- Let you know exactly where to look, what to try, and have a touch of personality. Very useful.
Overall this game is a winner. It promises to be long and involving and I'd recommend playing it when you have a solid block of time to sit and sink your teeth into it. I'm a little disappointed at the setting, although beautifully done, but it suits the Mystery Trackers series.
I recommend this game!

While games that combine TM and HOGs have been done before, they don't always work. In this case, the merge works well and the resulting game is a refreshing change for fans of either genre and a delight for fans of both.
Hidden object scenes:
- fun to do, with optional bonus goals
- artwork is pleasant
- choose from multiple available scenes
- items are easy to find
- plentiful hints
Farming:
- upgrade your farm with money earned in HOG scenes
- plant crops, raise animals and sell goods at the market
- easy to navigate
- icons and indicators are clear so you always know what needs to be looked after
- manage the prices of your goods
- no menus, every action can be done with direct clicks
Definitely worth a try if you like either style of play.
I recommend this game!

This is a wonderful resource management strategy/sim game and an excellent standalone follow-up to it's predecessor.
The basics:
- drag workers to various tasks such as clearing trash, gathering resources, farming, researching and so on
- craft recipes to sell in a market stall and use the funds to upgrade your estate
- grow various crops
- research/study, complete tasks, learn new recipes
- manage limited inventory space
- take care of workers' individual needs
This game will appeal to fans of Virtual Villagers, Artists Colony, Gemini Lost and other similar resource based worker sims.
Graphics and sound are great. The setting has changed considerably from the first game. There is plenty to keep you busy with multiple simultaneous goals to achieve. The game runs smoothly. It's easy to learn how to play as the tutorial is integrated into the early game and gradually introduces different aspects.
Improvements to the interface and artificial intelligence makes this a sequel worth getting. It looks and plays beautifully. You don't need to try the previous game to play this one. I bought it without trying the demo and I'm not disappointed! It's exceeded my expectations.
I recommend this game!

Cut-scenes, voice-overs, a kindly wizard, an evil villain, set in an enchanted forest, this reworking of solitaire is more than just a card game.
- 2 difficulty modes
- store for upgrades
- voice-acted cut-scenes
- story progression and mini-games
- magical theme is beautifully presented
- pleasant music (I did turn it down after a while)
- tutorial windows are not skippable but kept simple
- hint and tips pop-ups can be disabled
It's a lovely rendition of solitaire (the kind where you play down to a central pile, not up) with mini-games and a fairytale story. If the theme appeals, you will probably enjoy this. Cards are clear and easy to distinguish. The game looks stretched on widescreen but not too bad.
Disclaimer: I demo all the solitaire games but have never purchased one. This is probably the nicest one I've tried.
I recommend this game!

Very addictive game. Try it even if you don't usually like arcade game. This is fun for all ages - a great unwinder for adults yet playable by very young children too.
I bought this game without trying it because I accidentally used up my demo time. I usually detest arcade games but this one hits all the right notes. Enjoy.
