This game sucked me in during the demo. It is so intriguing and different that you can't help but love it! Great artwork, great storyline, and the music was perfect. It wasn't the easiest game to play by far. The strategy guide provided only pictures, which didn't always give you a complete solution. At times I had to look at the walkthrough when I was stuck. You really had to work to get through this game, but it was worth it. I loved the actors. The main character Charles, looked as demented as he acted, which made it all the more real. The hint button was unusable for the game itself, but it worked for the hops. All of the hidden object scenes were made up of morphing objects. I enjoyed the novelty of it, but I wouldn't want that all the time. Some of the scenes were truly funny and bizarre. Just when I think I've seen it all in these games, something else comes along that blows me away. I see so many comments from players about how easy and humdrum some of the games are. Well here's your chance to be challenged. Give it a try, and you too might be as entertained and intrigued as I was.

I have to say that this is one of the spookiest games I have played thus far. The artwork was fabulous and very fitting. If you're looking for pretty, you won't find it in this game.I had a lot of goose bumps while playing. The music is great, and fits right in with the story. There are also periods of silent interlude throughout the game. I do have one complaint. There doesn't seem to be any instructions for the mini puzzles which I thought was strange. Seems you have to figure them out for yourself. It did work on my nerves at times. The main game is quite long, and continues with the bonus game. I was a bit let down by the ending which didn't end with any concrete conclusions. I assume it's because the developers intend to follow up with a sequel. I guess I will be anticipating the next one for now. If you don't like gore and blood, as well as a totally spooky theme, then this one isn't for you. I loved it!
You thought this would be just like any other investigation. But now you find yourself lost in a mysterious mansion brimming with strange creatures, comatose colleagues, and mysterious tentacles around every corner…

After reading one of the reviews, I expected to be a little disappointed with this one, but I wasn't. Yes it is a bit silly but in a good way. I loved the crisp graphics and beautiful colors! Not all games have to be so serious and morose for me to like them. This is so cleaver and well put together. I laughed out loud a few times. This is the kind of game that intrigues and makes you want to keep playing. The animals don't bother me a bit, and the fact that they are so cute enhances the atmosphere. I really want to buy this game, but will wait a bit, as I just purchased a ce. I used the strategy guide quite a bit during the trial, and I consider myself an intermediate player, so it's not a piece of cake for those of you who like a challenge.

I bought this game without trying first based on the good reviews. I normally steer clear of "fairy tale like games because I don't care for them but this one was good. It is about a duke who falls in love with a commoner, and wants to marry her. That's all I will say so as not to spoil it. The colors were nice. Most of the art was crisp and clear. The music was pretty but was on a loop so after a few hours it kinda wore on me. The hos were all the same. They involved finding pieces and putting them together to make an item to be used in the game. The mini games were so so. Some were ok while others were mundane and childish. The hint system worked well for me, and I used the strategy guide very little. There is a map albeit a childish pop up map which I didn't use. There is quite a bit of back and forth in this one. A lot of different areas to explore. I liked the story line in spite of the fairy tale theme. On the other hand, the bonus game was just a silly waste of time and not needed for a conclusion to the main game. I think if I knew then what I know now, I would have preferred to purchase the se. The ce is just not worth the money unless you really rely on the strategy guide.
I want to start off by saying how impressed I am with this game. I was blown away by how well done it is for an se. The premise of the story is not original but it is well done. A prince must go back in time to protect Alura, a would be princess who was turned into a witch by an evil entity. The graphics are beautiful, as well as the music which I could have listened to all day. There are a total of 5 chapters to complete. The game is quite long and took me about 6-7 hours to finish on casual mode. The hint system is very good, and actually shows you where you should look by way of a pic of the area. You can teleport to that area by simply clicking on the hint. You also get a journal. I was also impressed by how many areas there are. I never got bored with the scenery because there are so many. Give this one a try fishies, I think you will be as impressed as I was.
I believe I have played all of the "Midnight Mystery games, but this is my favorite so far. You are asked by the late President Lincoln to find a cache of valuables and money that is geared toward helping the confederates cause. Along the way, Abe gives you info. as to what to look for and where to go next. This game was great fun, and the graphics were superb. There are also others in history who play a part such as Jessie James and John Wilkes Booth. I also learned some facts that I didn't know about certain people. The main game is a decent length, and the bonus game was also great, and was a continuation of the game. I also liked the mini games very much because they were different then run of the mill for the most part. The hint system worked very well, and kept me from even having to use the strategy guide for most of the game. Not too many hos, but just enough in my opinion.

I think this game could have been enjoyable had it been designed differently. I could not enjoy this game because of the constant search for inventory. Actually there are about 5 different inventories going at once. You can't pick up anything until you are allowed which is irritating. I felt no freedom or relaxation playing this game. In fact it wore on me so much that I couldn't even finish the demo. The music was pleasant, and the artwork was mixed. The outdoor scenery was blurry and amateur looking, while the indoor scenes were quite nice and colorful. The hint system seemed to work well. If you want a game that is basically dictated to you step by step by way of restricting everything but what the game wants you to do, then you might like it. Not my cup of tea.

This was a daily special priced at just 2.99 so I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed playing it. It's a little different, as there is no hint button for the game itself. You have a journal and a straight map which doesn't allow you to jump. You do however have a hint button for the HOS. The game starts when a lady wakes up in an institution, but has no idea how she got there. From there she has to discover for herself why she's there, and the mystery of why strange things are happening. An excellent storyline that will keep you playing to find out what happens next.
It should have been a tremendous achievement, but the tunnel through the Ridge of Leviathan became the site of a great disaster. What really happened that day?

I played the trial version and liked this game, but for some reason the game really irked me. I think what really got on my nerves was the hos. Some of the objects needed to complete them were from my inventory. I didn't always have all of them so I had to go on a wild goose chase to find them to complete the hos. The story line was confusing because I never really understood why part of the family was taken. It seemed that the aliens wanted the child because should could be productive for approximately 75 years according to their study of the human race, but why did they take the father and the other adults?I didn't care for the hint system, or more to the point, the continous same remark that came up everytime you tried to use something that wasn't right. It was "silly me,what was I thinking. Geesh, they could have changed it up a bit now and then. The art work was nice, and the music was pleasant. Other then that, I can't say much about the game. In my opinion it is forgettable, and not one I would replay.

I tried the ce version a few weeks ago, but didn't like it quite enough to pay full price. When the se came out, I decided to buy it. This game was so off the wall it was comical. It seems to take place in Mexico, and the whole time I was playing it, I couldn't help but wonder if the developers were smoking something from Mexico when they put it together, lol. The premice of the game is DNA and docs playing God by combining animal and human DNA to create half man, half beast species. Some of the combinations were so funny. The graphics were very good, clear and colorful. The music was appropriate and enjoyable to a point, as it was on a loop and got old after a while. The game itself was long which I liked. The hint system was very good as well and filled pretty quickly. It took me about 6 hours to play this game which isn't too shabby for an se. The hos and games were ok too.
