I love tm/strategy games and am always looking for a new one to play. This game is wonderfully fresh and unique in its approach...lots to do with new and varied tasks to perform! The dialogues are not long and drawn out and can be skipped through quickly if you prefer. Little hidden owls are fun (and not always easy) to find. All the mechanics of this game have worked flawlessly for me and I was easily drawn into the storyline. I usually play on the relaxed or easy mode as I like going at my own pace but I can see this would be a challenge if you prefer timed. No Vikings or witch doctors in Golden Trails and I suggest you give it a try!
I recommend this game!

Oh how I wait for these "gems" to show up, especially as standard versions so I can use up my free game codes! I love HO adventure games and this one sure did not disappoint. I became immersed in the storyline right from the beginning. I am not much of a puzzle lover and I ended up skipping many of them in this game for they were too much brain-draining but I thoroughly enjoyed the HO's and finding all the collectibles (not any easy task!). There is no map and you do have to travel back and forth among scenes (I ended up using the hint button...a LOT). I couldn't stop playing Adera and get the impression there will be more Adera released in the future, which I will be eagerly awaiting. I very much recommend this game for the "more experienced" player looking for good long challenging gameplay.

I bought this game, hoping for a little more "pizzazz" than the last couple of Argonauts games. Alas, it was not to be. This game is just more of the same - gathering, building, more gathering, crush the golems and banish ghostly figures. No challenge here. There are no hidden caches to find, no attacks to quell, no surprises. I also found the "spin to add bonuses" portion of the extras very tedious and entirely too time-consuming. Though the colors and graphics are very clear, I agree with the previous reviewer this was very much a let-down after the latest Roman Adventures adventure. I really cannot recommend this game to anyone other than those looking for something with which to pass the time. Sorry, Developers, but you need to step up your game with this series.

I have been waiting for Season 2 of this game! I bought it immediately, am not even through with the 4th stage and I'm am not disappointed!! There is so much challenge and things to do...not to mention finding all those hidden caches. I love they've added the button at the top telling you how many caches you have found (I don't remember if this feature was in the Season 1 game). This is such a superb game and ranks right up there in my book with the Hero of the Kingdom series! Don't be intimidated by all the complexities and tasks...once you get into the game you won't want to stop. Many thanks to the Developers!!

I was so excited to see a new TM, especially with "Rome" included in the title, but I'm about 2/3 the way through and my hopes for a challenging, fun games have ebbed away. There is nothing new about this game, actually find myself just trying to hurry through. Guess I should have paid better attention to the initial reviews. Very frustrating to have to wait so long for chests to refill and it would have been nice to have bonuses available to pick up along the way. The graphics are cartoonish but well-done. Guess I'm just spoiled with my other favorites...wish I'd see more of Moai, Roads of Rome and, all-time favorite, Hero of the Kingdom. And am awaiting a new Roman Adventure - Britons. I'm only recommending this game as I think some will enjoy it.
Just a quick review from someone who doesn't often review games. My title "They can't make these fast enough" is exactly how I feel about all the Vacation Adventure, Park Ranger, Christmas Wonderland and Cruise Director games. I buy them as soon as I see them released, have bought ALL of them and am never disappointed! I get hours if not days of pleasure out of these HOs. They're not for the easily frustrated nor if you're in a hurry. Each scene is virtually "littered" with items and I am always especially challenged to find the Wildlife and Recyclable extras. Keep cranking them out, please!
Got this with a free game coupon (games to use my free game codes on are few and far between), looked like a fun, relaxing little HO/puzzle game (and be able to toy with home decorating to boot). But I'm a little confused...apparently I'm supposed to be able to sell off items and where are the pictures, mantle and low table decorations? I have not found the option for selling anything or buying the aforementioned items. Maybe I'm missing something but I can only change chairs and couches so many times before I get bored. This game is relatively average in length. I found the HO scenes are very cluttered with some very tiny, obscure items to find...challenging to say the least. I liked the variety of puzzles mixed in with Match 3. Was a little surprised to see the "you've finished the game and can continue playing if you choose" so I kept poking around to find more decorations and came to the conclusion that that was all there was. I only recommend this to beginners and those gamers looking for something to pass the time (or use a free game code).
I have purchased all the Mystery Tracker games and have thoroughly enjoyed them. This was a good game...not great but good. It has interesting mini-games, good HO's and I always enjoy the more "modern" games...no castles, ghosts, witches, vampires. This games was long but I have a big problem with not being able to complete my achievements by going back to the collectibles I've missed #I don't like having to consult the strategy guide all the time#. I've gotten quite used to other developers allowing you the ability to do that. Also the "secret room" was a let-down for me. All in all, decent game that I'm glad I got on a two-fer weekend.
I usually am on the look-out for the new Collector's Editions, have been let down too many times by the stand-alone SE's but this one is really good. Bought it with a free game code and am glad I did! No collectibles or morphing objects...easy to continue out of conversations...and you do get a helper! The map is very interactive, easy to jump scene to scene. It's not just one HO after another, the few I've come across are not so cluttered and confusing, variations between lists and outlines. Puzzles pretty easy but challenging. Plenty of interactions you have to complete to fill out your object list. The game is pleasantly long enough so you don't feel like you've wasted your money. Graphics are very good, colorful. Glad I looked twice at this one...I recommend it!
I have been waiting with somewhat bated breath for the next Surface (I own all the previous Surface games) and I felt an extreme let-down with this one. I thought the graphics were beautiful but the game itself was TOO short, rather childish and the ending left me flat. I kept waiting for it to get better but I found myself hitting the hint button and skipping puzzles just to get to the end...not my usual gaming style. I used a couple of game credits for this one and wish I'd held onto them. I sure miss the days of The Soaring City and the Noise...if you're a Surface fan, I'm sorry but I don't recommend this one.
