I have to agree that this might not be the most challenging game around, but the storyline did keep me interested. I was glad to have a game where one does not have to go back and forth to different locations to pick things up to use elsewhere. In this game, you have to find things in a scene and then other area opens up for you to find hidden objects and then you are returned to the previous scene. No need for a map which is a nice change from current games. Some of the hidden objects were hard to see, but the hint system refreshed at a reasonable pace. The music did not appeal to me so it was turned down. Puzzles were repeated, eg. tansgrams, matching pairs, arcade type, but they were spaced apart so I didn't mind re-playing. The little bear was rather annoying at times, but I found it interesting that the heroine also found him to be a pest at times!

I felt this game had a relaxing feel to it as you move through the game to find the missing relics. It never did have a sense of excitement to it even when Penny was confronted by the villian in the story. As a daily deal, it did give me value for my money. It is a game that you could where you could play a few "chapters" and then come back several days later and not worry about having to remember everything that happened previously. Some of the puzzles could have had directions. One feature did annoy me though. As you moved from scene to scene, the screen would black out as the next part was loading. The first time it happened, I thought the game had frozen my computer!
I recommend this game!

Escape Whisper Valley
A sudden rockslide has left you trapped in an abandoned mountain village. Can you find the clues that will lead you back home?
This game is like the Mystery P.I. games. You play a number of hidden object locations before having a puzzle to solve. The hidden object scenes seemed a little too dark /grayed for me, making it difficult to see some of the objects. The puzzles are easy to solve- a mixture of jigsaw puzzles, match three, word search. As you move through the 25 levels, you gain a piece of a photo which is used to bring the game to a conclusion. I don't think there really is a story to this game. However, it was an enjoyable game to play when I only had short periods of time to devote to game play... didn't have to worry about keeping track of things. One different aspect of this game is that you are not always told exactly what to look for, but are given a hint, e.g. you find this on an envelope, or used to measure length. Makes you do a bit more thinking before searching.

I had just finished playing Azada Ancient Magic and decided to continue on with this Azada game. It isn't the hidden object kind of game that Ancient Magic was; rather it is an adventure game that uses the idea of Azada. I enjoyed this game more. There is the idea of evil controlling different worlds, but very little violence (if any) is shown in the game. Although you do have to go back and forth to use objects that you have picked up, your journey is not so complicated that a map would be necessary. Some of the puzzles were challenging for me and I was grateful for the skip button. Sometimes I just want to continue with the story rather than spend the time trying to solve puzzles. It would have been a nice feature if you could have gone back at the end of the game to try to re-visit the puzzles.

I thought the story for this game was great. You can relate to the mother's fears for her family and the fact that she would not abandon them on a sinking ship. Although there are numerous hidden object scenes, I would have classified it as a Hidden Object/Puzzle/Adventure game with more emphasis on the adventure aspect. There is a map to help you move from place to place, but it is not interactive. I didn't find the diary to be as helpful as it could be. When you have to play the game in several sessions, it can be useful to re-read a diary in order to recall what has gone on before. This diary just seemed to list goals and whether or not they had been achieved. The hint system is really only useful for the hidden object scenes. In other parts of the game, the hint system just gives general ideas on how to play the game. I found the video cutscenes to be very good as well as the other scene drawings. I had more difficulty though with the hidden object scenes. I found some of the objects to be too small and not as crisp as I would have liked so I used the hint button more than I usually do. I wish the hint button had refreshed faster than it did. Puzzles/ mini-games had brief directions and a skip button.

Trying to find the treasures to break the curse of the ring got a little tiring after a while. I wasn't able to play the game in one sitting and a journal or diary would have been very useful. Going back and forth to find things was made worse by the fact that the pictures of the items you were supposed to be looking for were very small and at times hard to determine just what they were. Some of the hidden objects were okay, but others were really small or too well blended into the background. I found myself using the hint button more and more because I wanted to finish the game. The different scenes/locations were visually interesting except for the fact that they seemed somewhat cluttered. Items that were hidden were time or place appropriate. The music added a sense of urgency in places, but it was repetitive and I ended up turning the sound down. Voice acting was okay.
There were times when I just wanted the game to end which, for me, indicates that it wasn't as good a game as others that are available. I don't regret purchasing it, but I doubt that I would replay it. I would suggest doing a demo to see if the size of the hidden objects might be a concern for other players. I'm not going to recommend the game because I didn't experience the feeling of enjoyment or success that I've gotten from other games.

The story was not really very exciting. After a while I didn't care if I found the needed crystals and runes to help save the wizard. The hidden object scenes were rather cluttered and many of the things were small or so well blended into the background so I was using a lot of hints just to move the game along. The music was appropriate, but repetitive to the point of becoming annoying when I was playing for a long stretch. It was a nice change from the games that have darker themes, but in the end, I couldn't wait for it to end. In fact I considered deleting it a number of times, but was just too stubborn to do so.
I don't recommend this game.

There are 16 cases for Sherlock and Watson to solve as well as four bonus stories to read. Each case has a hidden object scene, a spot the difference game and a puzzle. There are a variety of puzzles such as sliders, putting messages back together, connecting pipes and others. They varied in difficulty and there is a skip button. At the end of each case you need to sort the suspects into categories and then eliminate them. The graphics are a little grainy in places. Although the hidden objects are small, most are easily found. There is a hint button and you can collect more hints by finding Sherlock's pipe in each case. The items that need to be found are period related. Voice acting is appropriate to the characters. I like this game because you can finish each case stands alone so it is great when you only have short periods of time available for game play.

I must not have done my homework (do the demo, read reviews) before buying this game. I tried to stick with it and completed 6/8 chapters, but finally gave up in frustration. I can usually find something interesting/worthwhile in a game, but I have to say that this is one game I regret buying. The scenery was simplisitic and gameplay was clumsy and slow. I could have overlooked those facts except that there were a lot of other problems for me. Hidden objects were fuzzy, small, or just too hard to find. The puzzles had little or no direction. If there was a story, it certainly wasn't memorable! In the end, I just didn't care what dark mystery needed to be revealed.

Although I am generally not a fan of FROG type games, I was captivated by this game. I found that I wanted to play for as long as possible. The story was interesting and the characters (although you do not interact with them a lot) seemed to have some personality. I appreciated that there was a map that indicated where there were hidden object scenes that needed to be completed. The map could have been improved by naming the various rooms, although not having the map labelled added another level of challenge. I found some of the FROG aspects difficult because some colors did not seem to match, or a piece had been rotated a bit from the list showing what you needed to collect. Fortunately, I was able to adjust to this style of gameplay and improved as time went on.
I think this would be a game that would be best played when you have large periods of time to devote to it. When I came back after a break, I sometimes found that I had forgotten which areas I had already visited and wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing next. I must confess though that I probably didn't use the notebook as well as perhaps I could.
A couple of the puzzles were challenging for me. I wasn't always sure what I needed to do. Although you can skip the puzzles, you are penalized by having the hint button disabled for a short period of time. This wasn't a problem for me, but it could be annoying for others.
Some of the scenes in the game are so beautiful that I spent time just admiring them! Looking forward to playing the next game in this series.... The Snow Queen, I believe.
