I finished this game with the expert goal on all levels (not on the first try!) and found it to be addictive and entertaining. The sound effects and visuals were good, with a reasonable amount of variety to the play (4 types of games). It was not very difficult, but there was a challenge in trying to achieve the expert goal. There was a story line, which was fairly minimal but pleasant and amusing. The music was fine. The best part was the little girl vampire. I usually don't care for voice-overs, but whoever did the little girl's voice was AMAZING! So charming and matter-of-fact and just plain lovable. She made the game special. A few glitches - I am pretty sure that I never used the lock talisman but they didn't give me the trophy for that achievement. And the bat talisman showed up maybe once in the whole game and I don't remember ever seeing the diagonal talisman. Maybe when they do the next version they can fix these small issues. But it really didn't detract from a charming and polished game.
I recommend this game!

The developers did a great job keeping this game from getting boring like so many M3 and marble popping games. While most of the levels were marble popping, there were a few other types thrown in for variety (memory, and an easy shooter, and a different type of marble popping one). Even among the usual levels, though, the pattern of the marble stream, the opponents' skills, the available marbles and Evy's upgrades made each level different. For those of you worrying about your aim and time pressure, stop worrying. You have all the time you need to plan your moves, and I only missed my aim twice in the entire completed game, which I did on normal. As someone said, yes, "spheres" was mis-spelled once or twice and there were indeed two proof-reading glitches, but there was a fair amount of dialog--pretty interesting for a game of this type, actually--so I can't really hold that against them. This is one of the best games of the year for me and it has great replay value. Please, developers, give us a sequel.
I recommend this game!

I can't really add anything unique to the positive comments that others have made here but I do want to add my five stars. The game ran smoothly, the music actually added to the story (in my opinion), I loved the mini-games, and the story was entertaining. There were very few of those "how does THAT make any sense?" moments when you are supposed to use an item on another item, and a lot of the problems had creative but not crazy solutions. The hint system worked well. It basically just told you where you needed to do something and it did it gradually so as to give you the maximum opportunity to use your brain. Plus the game is very long. I don't usually re-play games but this one is going to be an exception.
I recommend this game!

Although this game would be enjoyable for children, its appeal is not limited to kids. In fact, it is actually quite difficult in places. It kept me occupied for 5 or 6 hours although I really try to avoid help and I don't skip puzzles. The game play was varied with plenty of different types of mini-games. There was one HOS in each of about 10 chapters and they were far more entertaining than usual. The plot was cute, the artwork was extremely creative and VERY colorful and the game made me smile constantly. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the kind of repetitive music. I would love to see more games of this type.
I recommend this game!

This is a good follow-up to the original. Maybe I am getting better at these games, or maybe it was a teeny bit easier, but I had no trouble with any of the HO scenes, or figuring out what to do next, or even the puzzles. I would have liked a tad more of a challenge, but all in all, the excellence of the graphics, and the many different locales, made this a five-star game for me. There was a good deal of interactivity in the HO scenes, the music was pretty good, the plot was interesting, the scenes were creative, and it was very gratifying to be able to finish the entire game with virtually no use of the hint button. I can't think of many games that are as mcuh fun as this one was. If it took you maybe 4.5 hours to finish, that's a little more than $1.50 an hour - a bargain!
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game even though I found many of the mini-games too difficult by which I mean either I just plain couldn't do them or I didn't feel like spending the time to do them when I wanted to get on with the game. The story was not ground-breaking but was better than average and held my interest throughout. One thing I thought was really outstanding was that the individual scenes were so well-done and so individually memorable that I had no trouble at all remembering how to get from one place to another even without a map. I play this type of game in spite of the HOS, not because of them, but I found that the HOS in this game were much better than average - one or two of the objects in each scene required some interaction (more toward the beginning) and they were sometimes pretty cute, especially the zebra and what happens after you find the zebra. That kind of whimsey really appeals to me. And the objects weren't too small or too dark to find. The voice-acting was a bit slow but I don't care about voice-acting that much. This game definitely has re-play value and I highly recommend it, especially to those who like difficult puzzles and don't want their hands held too much.
I recommend this game!

I just finished this game on the timed mode and I must say I think it is seriously under-appreciated. It can be very challenging but you can make it easier by using your accumulated jewels to buy yourself out of trouble. I didn't have much trouble figuring out what to do for any of the 14 types of game - the help was rudimentary but reasonably clear and if you just went ahead and started to play, it would become apparent what was going on. Contrary to some negative reviews, I did not find it repetitious at all, since there were 14 types of games and only about 8 or 9 of each type so it would be pretty hard to get bored. The graphics and music were outstanding. The only thing that was a little weird is that, within each type of game, the levels did not get harder as you went along - sometimes they got easier. I have played many many M3 games but this is one I know I will come back to. The first Cursed House was fun but this one is a huge improvement. I can't imagine what they could do to make Cursed House 3 better but I look forward to finding out.
I recommend this game!

This is a nice change from the usual M3 game. It is all about the game play and not so much on the visuals or the sounds, although they are fine. The game does not hold your hand, but it is doable if you keep at it. Some of the levels are harder than others, especially the icky spider one, but it felt like quite an accomplishment to finish that one. I think developers who go outside the box should be rewarded and I recommend this game. Cursed House 2 is even more challenging and much longer, well worth trying.

This review is based on my actually finishing the game. (I have noticed that quite a few people think they can submit a useful review based on playing for less than an hour, and I think they might be missing out on some really excellent games and also perhaps causing others to miss out as well.) This game had a very interesting story line, a space adventure, much much better than average. It really pulled you along. Very good sound effects, music not annoying. There were not that many HOS, which to me is a good thing, and they were interactive and not that hard. I have pretty terrible eyes and I had no problem. But the HOS were the least interesting part of the game. The puzzles were very innovative - there were actually quite a few I have never seen before, and some were moderately challenging but certainly not insanely difficult. Mostly, though, it was a point and click adventure game - find something, figure out where to use it. This part was very well done - logical in hindsight but took a creative leap. It was very long and loads of fun and I am sure I will want to play it again.
I recommend this game!

I really love this game for 3 reasons: First, although it IS an M3, it is played differently from other M3's - as well-described in other reviews - which in and of itself is a plus just for the novelty. Second, it is insanely difficult and requires strategy as well as luck and very fast reflexes, which means you really feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish, say, level 91. And third, each level has different goals, whether clearling the entire board, clearing a specific tile, collecting a (large) amount of a specific type of tile, or a combination. As a result, there is less of that "here comes another level just like the last level" feeling you sometimes get in even the best M3 games. There are a limited number of power-ups and in the later levels, if you are very lucky, you will finish with two seconds left.
The M3 gameplay is accompanied by village-building using your collected resources. This requires a little bit of strategy as what you choose to build will determine the available power-ups. This was not implemented as well as it might have been since the course of the game doesn't seem to vary too much if you follow a predictable and obvious building strategy. Furthermore, this part of the game is more or less abandoned toward the end since you run out of things to build and then you just accumulate money, citizens and reputation with noting to spend them on. In Caribbean Hideaway II - PLEASE make a sequel, developers - I would like to see this remedied, but it really doesn't effect the gameplay, which is seriously addictive. It has to be, to get you to play level 91 35 times before you beat it!
I recommend this game!
