this game had me at the first puzzle. A lot of the puzzles and mini games were quite unique. the HOs were top notch.
the map was great but to be honest I didn't really need to use it till towards the end of the game, I didn't really consider it a lot of backtracking,just enough. but the map was great at reminding you of where something was.
big plus the game had COLOR! [very tired of games that are all gray ] .
only had 1 problem in chapter 3 I lost the indicator arrow for the rest of the chapter- very wicked game playing lol ,so unfortunately I had to skip 2 games cuz u had to click on things specifically and quickly and I could'nt blindly find them that quick. I will definitely try again may have to reinstall.
point is I liked the game so much that even that didn't deter me!
now I'm wondering if I might've missed a good CE

thank you BF for the bundle opportunity! I almost passed, sure glad I did'nt! I never played the first 2 games, so I looked them up and read the reviews and decided to try .
these games are beautiful . major eye-candy!
wonderful HOPAs I think they intricated every type of mini game / puzzle I've ever come across and some are in the HO scenes. very clever,absolutely loved it, but I'm a huge fan of the mini games and puzzles.
loved the storylines , keep you thouroughly entranced.

hint button though rarely needed tells you what to do next
limited running back and forth in each scene then off to the next [new] scene.
good narration and voice overs not too much talking in fact didnt need to skip it like in some games [cant shut em up lol]
thanks again big fish for the bundle, hope alot of people took advantage of it. these games stay in my keeper file.

dont know how the ratings got this high, it was like being in a black and white movie, the art work so so bland and non dicript everything ran together in the HO'S a big blurry junk pile. my fault I didn't try before buy glad it was only a DD. I had to delete as soon as I finished.
I don't recommend this game.

I waited along time for this SE guess I should have played the demo first. the story was good but the artwork was'nt, it was grainy and bland no eye candy here, maybe I'm spoiled by ERS and elephant and blue tea. I bought it, played it, and deleted it. not a keeper for me. I think you should try before buy with this one. on the up side the HO's were interactive and good combining with things and the hint button was helpful. the puzzles and mini games were fine. sorry I just didnt care for the scenery.
I don't recommend this game.

this game was so visually engrossing that I can't tell you how long it was or what the music was like. I can tell you I didn't really need the map, it was easy to remember the layout and easy to navigate, unlike the snow queen,which was gorgeous but hard to remember the rooms and the layout, also did'nt need the stradegy guide, the hint button will point you in the right direction without telling you what to do. I enjoyedthe puzzles and mini games just wish there were more of them. love morphing objects! I only found 13 of twenty so I'll have to keep playing till I find them all LOL. I did'nt buy the CE, I usually don't,except maybe ERS games cuz I can't wait, because its twice the money for one more chapter, don't care about the wallpapers or screen savers or music that I can turn down if I dn't like it. but reguardless of CE vs SE I hope you will buy one of them , I can't imagine anyone regretting it. enjoy!

this is based on demo only had ahard time getting thru the demo, everything is green green green! I rated this just the opposite of most games. it was very challengeing because everything is green and looks alike. no difference in where you've been or going, cant remember anyway I found the game very frustrating. plowed thru and deleted it. sorry but no buy for me
I don't recommend this game.
An evil villain is luring people to his beautiful mansion and preparing them for a terrible ritual. Can you keep your head on the shoulders?

I knew it was ERS when I saw the artwork, and with a $10 special ,I bought it on merit alone and glad I did. nobod draws like ERS, people are nicely done good voices , music nondiscript but good sound effects.[ Hate real people in the games] there are no HOs in the game which is fine with me . this game is all about adventure and puzzles and mini games which I am a huge fan of and I think ERS has some of the best , they range from easy to medium difficulty. folks of all ages will enjoy this. Its a little to easy for expert as far as challenging goes, but I play expert and this was just pure pleasure for me. I gave it 5stars but it should be 4.5 cuz it lacked morphing objects and I love to collect them. so if your an ERS fan you wont be able to resist. this game is easy to follow , dont need a map u wont get lost , so not too much backtracking and not an overfilled inventory. bonus chapter is 1.5 hours long almost like a game in itself. I liked the ending

there is just something about the artwork from ers , I can't resist it . they have the best mini games. I have to admit I liked the first grim facade a bit better, but am so glad they gave this sequel. ERS might be a bit harder for the beginner cuz the hints are vague , you really have to work at them, which is what I look forward to in all thier games. A nice blend of HOGs, with shadows, inter active and junk piles. thank you ERS saving my credits for the next one!

for me this HOG had it all! I'm a huge fan of the mini games and puzzles and this game is loaded with them. the hogs are a good variety of junk pile, all one item and interactive. the only thing missing is morphing objects. music is fine the artwork is great. It's a nice long game. I loved every minute of it. I have every game in this series and each is better than the last. money well spent.
I recommend this game!

glad it was free. the usual it seems of late,buy, play once and delete. started hopeful but that quickly changed. I am NOT a fan of real people in these games, and the close ups of these people were hiddeous! didnt care for the music or voiceovers. would somebody please turn on the ERS beacon !!! I'm dying for a great game
