Marie has been arrested for murder and calls on Alex whom she broke up with three years ago to help her find out what the Downtown Secrets involve. The dialogue is quite adequate but tends to be a little overdone in some cases, but does not distract from the game too much. The graphics started a bit on the dark side at the beginning of the game but they seemed to get a little brighter as the story moved on. This made the hidden objects a tad hard to find at the start but with concentration and a bit of effort improved a good deal and made the task of locating the bits and pieces a lot easier as the game progressed. The pulsating ring invoked scenes from the past and made a pleasant diversion from the standard search and click genre. This was an entertaining game laced with a bit of intrigue and contained a dash of drama just to top it off.
I recommend this game!

I thought this game was like Venus's tennis career at the moment - a bit flat. The game to me, was a disappointment, I don't know what I really expected but it wasn't how the game turned out. I have never really been a fan of Venus or her sister and this game did nothing to improve the status. The dialogue was adequate but the music became rather monotonous. The graphics were clean and bright and reasonably well drawn but the puzzles especially the picture taking was a real drag, the spot the differences were ok but some were a little hard to spot. Some of the hidden objects were very small and hard to find. In one instance you had to find chicken, fish and chips etc on a small table which was disappering in the distance. Not one of the better games but I rated it 3 stars mainly for the hidden objects.

When I first started playing this game I thought it was very vague and confusing trying to figure out what to do and the built in help did not add much assistance but I carried on with it, worked it out and found it wasn't a bad game after all. Anna had to solve an ancient riddle while travelling around the world searching for an amulet that will save the world. The dialogue was ok, just enough to tell you what's going on but some parts seemed a bit trivial and became a nuisance. The intro scenes were a bit primitively depicted but the actual game scenes were clear and colourful and decidedly better. Some of the puzzles were quite involved and took some brain power to solve them but others were more on the easier side. Some of the hidden objects were to find fragmented parts of statues while most of the others were clear and bright and reasonably easy to locate. In the end I quite enjoyed this game as it seemed to get better as it progressed.

The plot is to investigate the rumors that four young girls are missing and have been afflicted by witchcraft but no one has as yet been held responsible. This game has the lot - a slice of the macabre, a dose of witchcraft, a load of intrigue and a host of drama, not to mention mystery and secrecy. It is a very infectious game- once you get caught it's hard to stop - you must go to the next room or solve the next puzzle just to see what will happen next. The dialogue is clear, helpful and to the point. Other helpful aspects are the map which is an enormous help in guiding around the various scenes and buildings and it shows where you are and what areas need your attention. The journal can be refered to if you need to gather previous facts and formulae which had transpired earlier in the game. The task page is also a great help, not only listing the tasks required to be done but also reaveals a subtle hint on where the item is located, or how the task could be done, but it does not tell you exactly what or where, you still have to do some work. The graphics are clean and clear, but not very colourful as you might understand or expect from a derelict town shrouded in fog and mist. This did not distract from the game as there were glimpses of some colour through the gloomy, browny, greyish scenery. The puzzles were very different from any other game I have seen and were quite to very challenging but also held my interest making it almost impossibe to press the skip button as by solving these it gave you a sense of achievement at the end. The hidden objects were not too difficult to find in the relative gloom and some were small but with a bit of dedication and concentration could be located with minimal assistance from the hint button. This game unlike some other games of the same ilk, does not have to be played in a set regimental order and you are not restricted to completing any patriculay task in any set sequence - sure the items found do trigger a required amout of travelling around and are part of a set task but in the end all will come together and all will be revealed. Great game- well worth the mone - bring on some more.

This is possibly one of the worst Big Fish games that I have ever played. I found that it had no plot, no direction and no interest. I gave up playing after about 30 minutes. The dialogue was indecisive and vague, the graphics were dark and unclear. The hidden objects were small and unclear and in some cases undetectable with out using a hint which was rather slow to recharge. Not a very inspirational game and definitely a miss for me.
We all know that Ebenezer Scrooge was a bad tempered miser who hated Christmas, so the age old story of a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens goes. But Scrooge a murderer!!!!?. Jacob Marley is dead at the bottom of the stairs with a knife in his back compliments from his partner Scrooge. The ghosts of Christmas present, past and future insist that Marley take his revenge on Scrooge and make him pay for the misery he has instilled on the locals and to make Christmas a happy occasion. A novel twist to an old story. The presentation is quite good and the story easy to follow. The dialogue is interesting and to the point revealing what must be done. The graphics are quite good, clear and colourful in the main but some areas and scenes are a tad dark as a macabre and eerie game might suggest. The clock puzzels which are used a number of times to travel between times are all the same and the hidden objects are not too difficult in fact rather easy most of the time. In my opinion a good game, well presented and well executed, I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

This game, I feel is strictly for kids, but having said that any kid that still believes in Santa Claus would not have the attention span to digest or comprehend the massive amount of superfulous dialogue associated with this game. I got bored reading the continuous voice balloons so I would not be at all suprised if a kid got bored a lot sooner. It appears that Santa had gone missing and a detective had got conned into assisting a Yeti, a talking reindeer and an Elf to help find him. The graphics, though, are good and colourful and quite well drawn but this I feel is where the plusses end. The hidden objects were simple to find and unappealing for a Christmas game and the puzzles did not even present ripple. Sorry Big Fish but I consider this game to be unappealing, uninteresting and uncharacteristic and not one of your best.

A little bit out of season but I found this game amongst my games archives and dug it out to play it. I thought it was a fabulous game for the family to play on Christmas eve whilst waiting for the old feller to come. Santa and his helpers are struggling against time to ensure that all is ready for the big night...Christmas Eve when he delivers all his goodies to the multitude of kids. Quite a good little game based on the carol the twelve days of Christmas. You have to find, amongst other things, all the hidden subjects related to in the song. For example three french hens, eleven lords a leaping etc. The graphics were just enough to explain what is happening or about to happen but it was not overdone. The music was a modern interpretation of Chrissy carols and other songs and was quite well done and catchy. The graphics were good, bright and colourful and well depicted. Some of the puzzles were a bit tricky and the kids may need some assintance here. The hidden objects were quite easy to find but a few were a bit of a problem and well hidden. A drop down window was a feature whenever you found a subject of the song which let you know how you were doing. Quite good... I enjoyed it for a pleasant change of pace and a bit of light heartedness.

This game has a few different new twists which make it a bit better than average. The plot surrounds Audrey whose husband has disappeared mysteriously and the only traces are a series of letters. She has to find these letters and other clues with the help of a dead postmans ghost. Going by the title I imagined this game to be another mushy romantic type presentation but I was pleasanty surprised when an eerie mystery unfolded. The dialogue was not too intrusive but just enough to enlighten you during the progress of the game. The graphics were clean, clear and colourful, perhaps a little dark in some places. The music was eerie and haunting which added to the theme of the game. The puzzles needed you to 'think out side the square' as some of them were doozies and a couple of times I had to use the walk through blog only to find out how simple and logical the solution was. The hidden objects needed concentration on most items and some had cryptic clues and/or needed two parts to the one item. Some of the h.os. were in the most unlikely places, like a siutcase in a birds cage or a shuttlecock in a lantern to name a few. All in all a good solid game which I thoroughly enjoyed and now I must purchase the sequal "Letters from Nowhere 2" to find out how it all ends.

After playing this game I was quite amazed at some of the negative reviews. OK, I found it to be a bit mushy and girlish but I really enjoyed the story and the intrigue always expecting the Marquis to appear unexpectedly. Florence had to explore a manor, look for documents to restore her family's fortune and to find out the truth about the Marquis. The dialogue was adequate enough to guide you through the game and was valuable and interesting for the story. The graphics were clear, bright and colourful and the music, although much of a sameness was quite pleasant and soothing in the background. The puzzles and mini games were reasonable and quite good and manageable and the hidden objects were not too difficult to locate. All in all, I thought it was quite a serviceable and pleasant game to play with a bit of mystery and intrigue and the romantic stuff did not really go overboard. I enjoyed it.
