Loved Rune Fall and now Silver Tale. A match three game with extras - quests, puzzles, bonuses, and great characters, including the leader of the Craggy Marauders from Rune Fall. Lots of tongue in cheek humor, challenging levels and great fun. Can I call in sick to work today so I can keep playing?
First time in a long time - a game I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was great quality - the story line, the voices, the puzzles... I especially loved the HOPs - which were puzzles in themselves. Collectibles & morphing objects were not overly difficult, since you could see on the map if you were missing anything. I also like the little "extras" hidden throughout the game. Often I find that something irritates me in a game but not in this one. Thank you!

I usually really like these games and bought this one without playing the demo first. (Bad move on my part, but the sale was ending in a few minutes.) So, on to my thoughts: Game was way too short. Ending felt unresolved and unexplained. Bonus game was also too short. Sequencing was jerky. Bonus content was not worth playing. Some "puzzles" were just plain strange and made no sense. Altogether it was a creepy and unsettling game and not in a good way.

The last couple games in this series were so-so but this one goes back to it's roots. You are the detective called in to pursue a masked avenger. You even die a few times - I'll let you find out how you come back to life. Fun and suspenseful game. I did figure out the identity of the 'villain' early on, but that didn't take away from any of the entertainment value. Good HOPs and puzzles, good hint system and map, custom skill level, great bonus content, and even a twist at the end. Glad I bought it.

I liked: Storyline Puzzles HOPs Bonus finds Infamous helper
I did not like: Map only showed current area zones - no way to scroll to other sections of the map Bonus content somewhat lacking - no collectible or souvenir room
If you can work around the irritating map features, it was a pretty good game.

I did not expect to like this game. It is an old school FROG with some comic-book style scenes. However, I got hooked in the demo and used a free game credit to buy it. I found the game play to be easy with a map you can use to jump around and find active zones. There was even the obligatory twist and hint of things to come at the end. Puzzles had just the right level of challenge and the hint system works well.

I was excited to see another in this series but just played the demo and NOT buying: - We can't go anywhere without oars... OMG - If I saw that message pop up one more time when clicking on something I was going to scream. Apparently quality control took a pay cut. - Map only shows areas to be finished, not where tasks are waiting. Not helpful. - I'm not a fan of super-tough puzzles and HOPs, but even I found them pretty easy and boring. - Another ersatz-broadway-singing character with absolutely no tone quality. I thought mermaids and sirens were supposed to lure you in, not scare you away. - Annoying sound effects when clicking or finding items. ...and the lost shall be forgotten, just like this game.
I was really looking forward to playing this game but after playing the demo, 2 things stopped me from buying: 1 - Unrealistic timer. When I have to replay low levels to finish before the timer runs out, it's no fun. I understand that you don't have to beat the timer to finish the level, but it's still stressful. 2 - I can't use the touchscreen on my laptop. Timed games like these are much easier if I don't have to use the touchpad and can just click on the screen. No such luck with this game. Unless at least one of these items is fixed, I'll pass - even with my free game code.

I was really excited when I saw another House of Doors game and downloaded the trial immediately. Unfortunately, I just wasn't hooked on it.
The good: - The HOs are very interesting with just the right amount of challenge. - The puzzles are fun and inventive - Love the steampunk theme in the first door. - Cute cat helper.
The not-so-good: - Hand of Light - Emily's special power has to be used frequently and is a PITA! Not hard, just the same thing over and over and over and over... Give me a break! - Emily - not a terribly interesting character plus her voice and dialogue are annoying. Very distracting from the game play. - Extras - yes there are collectibles, but even though I checked the tutorial for special features, these were not mentioned. I only found them by accident and then it was too late to go back and collect them all.
Overall - I'll wait until this is an SE and use a free game code. Then it may be worth the price.

Okay, I'm not usually swayed by storylines and dialogue, but this is just too sticky sweet. The opening with the phrase "my beloved wife" should have tipped me off. Too bad because the game looked kind of cute. The music is nice and the alternate world is pretty. However, the cloying and annoying dialogue is just too distracting. This is a no buy for me - even with a free game code.
