Okay, first off, if a lot of walking about irks you, you may be bothered by this game off the bat because there is no map, period.
The hint was extremely useful as once in a while I got stuck majorly, and needed it charging quick...the puzzles were fairly easy, though, so I didn't need skip.
The graphics and music are both good. I found no particular problems with them. However this was an odd game out where I wished there were more cutscenes.
The story was fairly simple- your sister in law has cast a love spell over your husband that went wrong. Now, everything's chaos, and you have to save your niece. I wish they made the story more....I don't know...they mention what's going on maybe five or six times during the entirety of the game, and that's just the other characters mentioning the plot.
HOWEVER, because the puzzles and hidden object scenes were okay...and the cutscenes they had weren't bad...I think I won't go merciless on the game.
It was okay, and for beginners I'm betting it would be a good choice for a game. Even for people who have played some HOG's, they'd probably like it.
I recommend you try the game a little before condemning it, that's what I recommend.
C*
I recommend this game!

Graphics are surprisingly good in this game, in the cut scenes as well as just overall atmosphere. The music is very pretty- I'm sure it was a repetitive score like most games are, but I didn't notice it. It was a light and airy sort of (I almost called it haunting) melody.
The voice- acting was well done, in my opinion, when you did see it. No out of sync lips or anything annoying like that.
So, the story- think Snow White. Except, not just asleep Snow, frozen Snow. The apple concept is almost the same. Poor Snow White was the first, and now your sister has been invited to be the Queens' successor- and you're now on a trip to save her.
You get a pet to help you, there's 3 difficulties....there's a map that warps you place to place if you don't feel like the walking.
The one thing that did annoy me was that the journal didn't jot down some mini-game puzzle hints that really would have been useful while solving. But, I got through the puzzles by going back and writing them down on paper.
I liked the game enough to buy it, but as usual, I recommend you try it first before buying.
I recommend this game!

First off, you have to understand that some of the cutscenes are a little different. Not bad different, just as in at first it takes a getting used to because they talk but it just shows their image standing there.
Music is very...my best word would be pretty. It goes with the game, wherever you may be scenario wise. The voices are good as well.
Graphics are beautiful, not too vivid but not too dull...not shady either.
So, we come to the game, which I can't say much of except it's a forbidden romance. Fantasy abounds, and the huntsmans' daughter has fallen in love with a magical creature that the humans despise. I really, really loved the concept of collecting the notes and memos, and the ending of the game was sweet.
You are given a cauldron to make potions in- a very fun add in to the game. Each potion you collect your ingredients and do a 'minigame' of sorts to create it.
This game really isn't a HOG game, though. You collect items, yes. They're hidden, yes. But not in the piles most games do...these ones you do something to get the item, or you try to find it.
I liked it, and recommend. I think if you're a sucker for romance ones you may like this, but I also think you should try it first, as usual : )
I recommend this game!

I like the ERS games, they're mostly good graphic wise and sound wise, and are always fun to play. This one, though, I was a little skeptical on. I saw some reviews talking about singing mushrooms and thought, "oh man, not for me. that's a little TOO childish".
I put the thought aside, and was glad I did. In ERS you often have a helper, in this one you have two...one you can dress up. You have the achievements to collect.
Extras for the game:
Wallpaper
Screensaver
Mini Games
Hidden Object
Concept
Movies
Music
Bonus Chapter
Strategy Guide (in game)
The graphics are good, as well as the music. The game is whimsical- you have elves, fairies and such.
You were at the King and Queen's wedding party, and came back to find the place a mess- just how I won't say : p
The game has a map that shows you where you need to be, as well as a strategy guide. The strategy guide hasn't really been needed so far, though.
I recommend that you give the game a try. I'm a child at heart, and like most these games- I just wasn't sure on this one. ERS delivered again, though.
I recommend this game!

This is much like the other Awakenings, with you as the Princess Sophia trying to save her friends/ people/ parents in the story. The princess has been kidnapped though (sorry yet again to those who didn't do the bonus quest on last game....you're in the dark, like I was ^.^) and is now being sidetracked because of someone in the past.
The game has beautiful graphics, per usual, and serene music most the way through. The game features three level hardships, achievements, cutscenes theatre, concept art, wallpaper, a mini-game called "glass works", a built in strategy guide and a soundtrack. So, normal CE stuff.
The bonus chapter was...I found it dark, compared to most the things I've seen in this game. But, that's just my opinion. I liked it because of how it worked and it was interesting.
I got this game on CE because recently with Awakening, I've been 'waking' in areas of the game that are not recognizable after playing the 'whole' version of the SE game that was before it. Well, that and it was a two-for-one sale.
But, like I say, try before you buy it. It's always worth trying it for a little bit, to save yourself the money if you don't like the game.
I recommend this game!

I rated it the four because, right off the bat, I was wondering what was going on. I was crash landed somewhere, and was like, "how? what? when?"
It turned out that it was because I hadn't bought the CE of the last game, so I didn't get the bonus gameplay, thus didn't know what was happening.
So, I had an annoyed beginning. But, the gameplay perked me up, as usual. You have a map, which transports you room to room. You have your dragon and owl friends, as usual. And this time, you get to meet your people...well, not YOUR, since your kind of the only one with no magic....but the gist.
The music is good, voices fine, but at least for me #and this is why the game really annoyed me, and made me rate lower# the game was really, really choosy about where you click to place/ choose/ use an item from the inventory, to the point where I thought that my mouse battery may be dying so I replaced the batteries and found that it was still making me click the same thing five, six, seven times in the same place. I was using the owl to see if it was in the right area, and it was...but it may have been my pc just doing this. Who knows.
The storyline....the Princess is in her land now, but evil has been here in form of a sorcerer and a basilisk...and now the poor Princess has to go through another journey.
I'm playing the SE hoping that I didn't miss out on something too huge- I know the Princess herself mentions one or two things "I'll do once that Sorcerer's gone", so she hints at some things in the CE, I think.
But anyway, it's a good game, I DEFINITELY recommend you try it first in case you have the same error I had with the clicking and it annoys you too much.
I recommend this game!

An impressive sequel, but I'm greatful- like a lot of people are saying- that I waited for SE. Don't get me wrong, if you like your wallpapers and such go ahead, but I'd standard-bought the original and thought the same would be sufficient for this.
The games graphics and audio were somewhat better in my opinion, but it's been a couple years, so they've had time to improve.
The challenge level was mediocre for me. I thought it was easier...but that's opinion.
You have a different plot, one that seems overused but is different this time. The eeriness is there, just like in the first Stray Souls...as well as the doll house. And the dolls.
The Hunt's are mentioned, but only in passing- and only if you can find the right journal on a place- this isn't a "family member" sequel, if you're looking for that.
I recommend. I also recommend, though, that you try before you buy any game, as usual. While you're playing the tutorial, though, a thought- it's much better if you don't speed to see if you can get as far as you can. It's better to just go along and enjoy the music and gameplay : )
I recommend this game!

but I loved every minute of it!
~based on completion of all but HoM, but that's a bonus for collectors' edition~
First off, I'll admit it- I've really never been a fan of the Grim Tales series. I tried The Bride, because it sounded nice, but it didn't suit my tastes.
This game...the graphics and sound are amazing. The voices are good as well.
The story is one we all know. Or do we? The game gives it a twist on the interesting. Bonus chapter can only SEMI be described...um...it's what supposedly drove Mary, I'll put it that way.
Usually extras- screensaver, wallpaper, collectables, puzzles, concept, bonus chapter, and as I mentioned I'm on the "hall of memories", which seems to be a mini-chapter for each missing teacher....I think. I JUST got there, and clicked on the door, and it brought me back to the game, so I think that's what it is.
The downside for the audio, though, is it may be a bit loud for you. I use my laptop with earphones, and had to fiddle with some of the audio because background just roared at some points...and you didn't hear all the creepy things you were meant to.
Definitely recommend, but as usual, I say try before buy. I got this for a two for one CE, which made me quite happy to buy it. I usually wait for standards, but am glad I got this one in the CE.
Now, I can't wait to play the second game I got, Nightmares' From The Deep: The Sirens' Call.
I recommend this game!

My favorite character in this game is the doll, or hint button. But the dollhouse you fill in with your husbands' past ranks a close second, though.
The graphics in this game are almost as if you're playing a child's game, which you're definitely not- the game is creepy. I can't elaborate much except wife-rescue-husband without ruining the fun of seeing on your own.
But back to graphics- I think they intentionally planned it the way they did. The graphics are clear, and good.
The music is alright, as well. It's not annoying.
Overall, I highly recommend the game. Or at least giving it a try, because it is a good game and shouldn't be overlooked. I have it on my kindle- not computer. It's one of the games I go back to.
I recommend this game!

Graphics, good during play. Even when your "helping" people...but good grief, during some of the HO scenes it was hard to see, even on my laptop. The scenes were done well- not jumbled messes- they just wanted to stick with the dark theme, and it blends things in a bit too well.
Music, fine. It seemed to be on the same loop, but you really don't notice it unless you concentrate on it. What really creeped me out was the little kids chattering #singing?# in the background of all the effects going on noise wise. The first time I really stopped and heard it my hair kinda bristled, it's that creepy.
I played through the full version in three hours. I had to use the blog walkthrough for...one or two things, because I happened to miss them.
I think it's a good game, and recommend it.
As a side note, I also recommend the game F.A.C.E.S. to those taken by this game. It's also creepy-asylum, with a few added twists and better graphics.
I recommend this game!
