This is one cute game with some great features. Relaxed or timed mode that can be chosen each level just before pressing the 'play' button - no need to go into Options. Levels can be replayed if desired. The timer button is great - it counts down so time left on level is always known. The board is bright and the different tile types are clearly seen, not just a jumble of similar colours - love the adorable voodoo doll. I like that the power-ups can be bought as part of decorating the yard. Even better there's lots of free decorations too. Gold can be collected several ways: clear the gold tiles; drop the gold skulls off bottom of board; plus coins and sacks of gold to click on during game. There are two types of power-ups, ones from M4's and M5's #line only# that appear on the board plus ones bought from the "shop". Took me a while #no instructions screen# to work out that making a match with a "glinting" tile powered those ones up. All in all a very good game for those times when the brain needs something to divert it from a busy day.
I recommend this game!

Jewel Legends: Magical Kingdom
Rebuild the Magical Kingdom, erect magnificent buildings and restore the kingdom’s former glory!
I deleted this after 8 minutes. It seemed to be very similar to the 7 Wonders series - same cursor and collecting bricks to build with - but with atrocious boards and such similar looking jewels that made for hard to see matches. The artwork was lovely but that was about it - have no idea about the sound as I never play with sound on. It does have untimed mode.
...but it wasn't. Most of the time I had to refer to the SG (in easy mode too# to find out what to do next which was most annoying as I really like working it out for myself. I enjoyed collecting the poltergeists but missed most of them as I just didn't see them, I was so busy trying to work out what to do next without having to resort to the SG and failing dismally most of the time. Thankfully I could skip through the extremely irritating bad-tempered gnome person's antics. Most game baddies are amusing with their "I'm going to take over the world" rants, he wasn't!
The achievements which I normally love to collect were not worth the bother plus I had to search all over the game to try and find where they were listed. The gardening thing was weird and not in place with the storyline. Needless to say I also didn't bother with this part of the game.
Provided I wasn't in a scene where something needed to be done, once I had the tool to use, the hint button worked well. If I was in one of those scenes then all the hint button did was highlight it rather than taking me to where I could do something straightaway. I got all bar one ring but would the hint button take me to the missing one - nope.
The map was woeful, way too large and would have been helpful if it had shown where something needed to be done rather than just be somewhere to leap to but without a reason to do so.
This would have been a better game as a standard rather than a CE though with that map and hint button perhaps not. I don't know what the bonus chapter was like as I'd had enough at the end of the main game.
I will end on a positive - I enjoyed the puzzles once I worked out what to do #though sometimes with the SG's help# so much that I did them all without thinking of skipping them at any stage.
I loved the Group Tiles sections of Hidden Depths so tried this game on the recommendation of it being a similar type game. It has proved addictive and I play it again and again trying to better my score of remaining money at the end of Level 60 when I've bought everything for the garden. It's a very, very simple game graphics and story wise but quite challenging trying to work out where to put that bit of fruit to its best advantage with Level 60 being the biggest challenge of all. It has a timer but only for a money bonus if level is completed within the time otherwise the game is played time-free.
It's quite an easy little game - well for the first few boards - then it gets harder and harder and HARDER. An example - making twenty lots of the same shape in either a limited number of moves or limited time as well as collecting seventy jewels of one colour is quite a challenge and one I have enjoyed so far even though I hate timed games. However I can replay the board as many times as I like trying to complete it and collect the "money" needed to upgrade the power-ups in the store - took me a while to realise that to choose one I needed to slide them along. When I replay I try to complete only one of the tasks. There appears to be money for each task completed so I think - not sure - if I play twice and complete one task each time I can get all the money. I'm on the second lot of 20 boards and I've managed to get three stars -$30- on the early ones and only one -$5- or two -$15- on the later ones. I think there are five lots so it'll keep me going a while.
I have finally finished the 100 levels after 9 months of playing off and on. While at first I quite enjoyed playing, once I got all the buildings it then just became a tedious job getting it finished. Even the challenge of clearing 100% of tiles became boring and I got through the last 10 levels as fast as possible. I am rating it okay as I did enjoy it at first, it was just way too long and would be much better if at least 20 levels had been left off.
I enjoyed playing this one except for one thing - the game board pieces were quite hard to distinguish at times especially the blue and the ice - similar shape and colour. There were different modes of M3 to play and they changed after each board which kept me interested. This one for me would be a DD or special price purchase rather than full price because it just didn't grab me unlike the Cradles or Puzzle Quests. However for newcomers it's not bad.
I really enjoyed the first three Awakenings but this one not so much. It felt like I spent more time in the Strategy Guide than playing the game - VERY frustrating and I was playing Relaxed. I found the mini game instructions to be very poor so had to consult the SG to try and work out what was required. The diary was irritating as I wanted to keep it on the tasks page but it would keep returning to the diary which I'd already read. I finally finished the game but can't start again under the same name to get some of the achievements I missed out on - Grrrr!! I thoroughly enjoyed the story and characters and will probably frustrate myself further in the next instalment to come.
This one looked like good fun at first sight but then the first levels made me very queasy. I couldn't even look at the screen to do the section where there was a match the screenshot to their picture, I just had to wait for the timer to run out so I could continue playing and that's the first time I've been grateful for a timer. That said, it's a pity there is no untimed mode. The obstacles and powerups were quite enjoyable to play. The graphics for the most part were very good but the developers need to quit the heaving sea thing as there are a lot like me who will not be able to buy because of it.
Storyline ok. Match play very similar to Rainbow Mystery except couldn't match 3 on frozen tiles which was extremely irritating as was waiting till the tiles stopped before being able to continue. Way too much waiting around with loading and then having to skip stuff to get a move on. Did not enjoy this one at all and deleted before trial halfway through.
