The story is fine; colours and scenes are nice but oh did I have trouble with placing my cursor in the EXACT spot needed to continue the action eg getting the helper to do things and in the "replace items" HO just clicked over and over moving the cursor just a little before the item would move into place. Some never did until I hit the hint button (there goes my achievement) to be able to finish it. This one is just not up to the standards of previous ones especially the first two which I loved.
I don't recommend this game.

The Adventures of Mary Ann: Lucky Pirates. While the storyline was interesting in the 15 minutes I played, the game itself just didn't grab me. The board is nice and colourful and moves properly. It has relaxed play - always a must for me now - as well as timed. Good for a beginner.
I recommend this game!

Maybe it was just my computer but everything on the boards moved so slowly and that took away all the pleasure of trialling this game. I lasted two boards before uninstalling. However for other computer users where the boards move properly it looks a good game.
I recommend this game!

I have played this a lot over the past few years and enjoy it each time. It is a challenge at times trying to make the three of a kind and the thing at the end of the cursor is the wrong type but that just adds to the fun. It is timed which is not for all but there are no lives to be lost and money and experience gained, in fact the three top of screen game power ups reset themselves so are still intact ready for the next attempt. This all helps as I try to make the 999,999 total by end of level 100. I've also worked out what I have to do to end with no extra people on the island which has also added to my fun.
I recommend this game!

Tried it for 15 minutes and lost interest, it was more boring than irritating. I didn't like the graphics though it was a fairly bright and cheerful looking game. The dog doing its "Woof woof woof" every few minutes was annoying as I then had to use the "X" to get rid of the dialogue box to get back to the game. I liked the storyline which I thought could be more interesting as the game moved along it but that was about it. It compares poorly to similar games like Gardenscapes and Dream Inn and is simply not worth paying the same price to purchase it. I did like using the magnifying glass to move in closer to the scene, at least that made it a bit more interesting. Not for me perhaps more for someone just starting out playing these games.
I don't recommend this game.

but - the Strategy Guide drove me nuts. I kept having to go back into the chapter I wanted, then I'd automatically try to get to the next page by looking for an arrow at the bottom of the screen only to remember it was at the top and then if it was the wrong chapter I'd have to back out, go into the right one and arrow through to the right page - so annoying especially in a modern game like this.
Next - why do I need to complete a section in speedy time to get an achievement for it? I like to take my time but I also like achievements and with this one I can't do both. Last, why Romania?? This has me a bit puzzled - I've been there, fantastic place with wonderful castles but really this could have been any country in Europe.
I recommend this game!

The boards are lovely to look at, very colourful and clear with achievements to attain and that's it for the positives. Negatives: The tutorial couldn't be turned off which for a seasoned player could be extremely annoying. However, the most frustrating thing which stopped me from playing and buying was the cursor. It was so slow and a bit wobbly at times so I couldn't make matches as fast as I needed to get the points for the 3 star rating. I tried system and non-system cursor with no difference. So I did level 2 about 8 times trying to improve from 1 star to no avail. If the level doesn't attain at least one star then then next level doesn't open so I dread to think of trying the later levels. Could have been a good game and at least I got to try before buy.
I don't recommend this game.

After playing Seven Seas and Chronicles of Emmerland with much enjoyment I was looking forward to trying this. One of the things I most liked about them was the Replay function if a Perfect wasn't achieved which is completely missing from this game. I enjoyed the challenge of replaying until I could get the Perfect (not always achieved but fun trying) so without that function I couldn't be bothered to play this game.
I don't recommend this game.

... which will stop a lot of players from buying this - developers pleeeease take note of this. Normally I would be one of them but I have two other Cubis games which I've managed to play with the timer. The visuals in this one are very good; bright and colourful and they don't blend into one another. There are three challenges within each level, one to complete the number of tiles required, the second to try and get rid of all the star tiles and the last to finish with no tiles on the board. This one is the hardest but I've managed it a few times. Each level can be replayed either immediately or later. There are achievements including all perfects for each level of each world section (not attainable by me). Each level has a score but I haven't found where to see the list of them. All in all a good game to while away the hours with enough of a challenge to keep me going onto the next level.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed playing the trial of this game, for me it's an improvement on No 3 as the timer is no longer an issue. It's still there but only to gain a gold, silver or bronze rating for the level and if you're slow like me then actually getting the level completed is more important anyway. There are the same power-ups to be bought in the store. I have a small problem there as I like particular types of power-ups and cannot buy them when I want to, rather the game wants me to buy them in a certain order. There are some new parts to the some of the levels, drop the gold, catch the frogs which make for a more interesting game. I could choose to play in Casual or Expert mode which I haven't come across before in M3 games. The thing I absolutely hated is when the screen did its circle around thing as I suffer from motion sickness so I had to skip that bit as fast as I could whenever it came up - not a good idea developers as there's a lot of us out there. I also had trouble finding the Achievements as they were not under the Options, High Scores etc. screen. Don't know about the sound as I never play with sound on. However I enjoyed the game playing itself so plan to purchase it.
I recommend this game!
