I was disappointed in this game, as I really liked Dark Romance: Vampire in Love. The story line was tired (royal wedding hampered by villain) and it had a juvenile feel to it. The HO scenes and puzzles were easy, Perhaps it is aimed more at kids as the graphics and dialogue are very simple and straightforward. It's not a bad game, its just not very good, and nowhere near a CE. I'll look at it again when the SE comes out, and see if I think it would be worth a punch code.

After having played some disappointing demos lately, I was very pleased to come across the latest Chimeras. This is a flat out 5 star game! The story is interesting, the characters are unique, the puzzles are a little off the beaten path, the graphics are wonderful, and the voice overs fun, An absolute pleasure to play. As well, the CE features are actually worth the extra cost, with 18 good wallpapers, achievements, and 3 types of collectibles (tarot cards, chimeras, and morphing), This games shows a lot of attention to detail and doesn't skimp on anything!

I have bought all the earlier CE games in this series, and liked them a lot, but this one is a swing and a miss! It is very dull to play, boring story, dull voices overs, tedious music etc. The puzzles are very easy as well, so no excitement there either! It really feels and plays like someone took a bunch of odds and ends from other games and dumped them into this, I couldn't have cared less about the heroine, the alien, or the darned harmoniium, so please play before buying in case you feel the same.

I was surprised at how much I disliked this game. Every bit of information is spoon fed to you, and there is no option to play on a more challenging level. I have no idea why there is a hint button! The graphics are flat, and when the characters "speak" they just bob slightly up and down during the voice over. This is one of those games where you can choose to have the characters ask different questions, but really that just slows down an already boring game. There is nothing new or interesting here...not even worth a free punch code.

After playing the demo, I just wanted to keep on playing! I liked the story line, the voice overs, graphics, and the puzzles and HO scenes. I would say this is a medium challenge game, and I think it would be a good one to play on the hardest level. I got quite involved in the story (which in some games is just an excuse for HO scenes) and I really liked the "black bird" feature where every time you find a black bird you can chose to watch a video containing more background information!
I recommend this game!

By about the third minute of the demo I was clicking through dialogue and wondering what game I was going to play next. This is an old school point and click adventure that is very talky, It looks and plays ok, and maybe if you are feeling nostalgic for gaming in the 80's you might like it, but definitely give it a try first. By the second time I had to watch 'Joe' 2D walk all the way across my screen I was bored, and ready to move on.

I enjoyed playing the demo, but I found myself clicking through the dialogue a lot. Otherwise, the graphics are great--I felt cold looking at them--and I liked the custom difficulty levels and the side to side scene changes. The challenge level is good, and I think the storyline is ok, but again there was a bit too much talking for me. The extras are fine with all the usual things we now expect in a CE.

I liked playing the demo of this one, as it had a nice creepy feel to it...no cute little elf helpers here! Basically the heroine is trying to escape through the rooms of a dungeon loaded with all sorts of creepy things. Like the heroine, I hate spiders, so I will be playing this one with the light on! I really like the look of the main characters and the kind of old school feel of the whole game. It could use an inventory lock, and a bit more difficultly, but otherwise is fine, and great for a punch code purchase!

I was about to write my review of this game from the demo, but I just read Arnold 1049's review, and he said it all! Good game, nice HO scenes and puzzles, not overly challenging, excellent use for a punch code free game!

I enjoyed playing the demo, and will pick this up on a bonus punch Monday! As other reviewers have noted, there are no HO scenes, and it has an Indiana Jones type of feel. It looks good, plays well, and held my interest. With so few SE only games available lately, it is nice to see one that is fun to play even without all the CE goodies we've become used it! This is not in the least bit an edgy or innovative game, just a good solid one.
