I am fairly new to this series. I just discovered it the other day while looking for a new game. Although I don't own any of them (yet), I have played the demos for all three. I can't believe how different this one seems from the first two in the Shop-n-Spree series.
The basic premise is the same: you are essentially trying to build a fantastic shopping destination. You open up new stores and new malls by filling customer orders in your stores and earning stars that enable you to build new stores. There are also mini-games to play that also let you earn stars. Can't comment on the sound as I played with it off, but the graphics- just like with the previous two games- are clear and objects are easy to identify.
The thing I really disliked about this game is that the hidden object element is pretty much gone. Yes, you have to look for the objects your customer wants, but they are not hard to find as the stores this time are more organized. The emphasis in this game seems to be concentrating on the number of items someone needs as opposed to really needing to search for things. It made a huge difference for me in how much I liked the game, and not in a good way. Although I also like time management games, the change has still made this one that I'll pass on.

I really do love the Mystery P.I. Series of games. If you're looking to do a game that is strictly about hidden objects, look no further. This is not a hidden object adventure game. All of the Mystery P.I. games are very similar in that you have a storyline giving you an excuse to search for clues in a bunch of scenes. For each clue you find you will do several hidden object scenes followed by a puzzle that ultimately gives you the clue. At the end of the game you will use these clues to figure out the mystery laid out for you in the storyline.
For what they are these games are very well done. The graphics are very crisp and clear- you won't be agonizing over finding an object that looks nothing like what its supposed to. I guarantee if you have to use a hint you will kick yourself for not finding the object you were looking for. Speaking of hints they are very helpful. When you use a hint you will see a sparkly area right around the object you are looking for. Nothing vague at all. While the game is timed, you really do have more than enough time to finish. If you prefer no limit at all, you do have that option.
This series entry in particular was very good. Although the puzzles between hidden object scenes are very easy, they are at least varied somewhat, which has not been the case in all of these games. This is a fantastic game for hidden object lovers who just want to entertain themselves without having to think too hard. Although scenes do repeat, there are a lot of them and I feel there's enough variety to keep your interest. I like this game as well as the other two I own, and would not hesitate to buy another one in this series.
I recommend this game!

I have really enjoyed this game. I had never played the original Gardenscapes, but I had a free game credit and this game had great reviews, so I went ahead and bought it. Great decision on my part. I have been playing this game a little bit each day, and it has lasted me hours. This is not a short game. Just when you think you're almost done, something new comes up.
In this game you are a property owner who has a beautiful garden (from the first game), but a mansion-specifically a main hall- that needs a lot of work before some guests are scheduled to arrive. To earn things to buy for the mansion, you sell things found in different rooms of the house. People will show up and tell you what they want to buy, and you have to find that object in the room you're in. In between searching rooms for objects, you can buy things to decorate your main hall. The decorations get more expensive as the game progresses.
This is a pretty straightforward hidden object game. There are only so many rooms to search in this mansion, and as the game goes on you will see each of these rooms many times. That is one of my main reasons for giving the game 4 stars. I do appreciate the length of the game, but it does get a bit old after awhile. I have found that playing just a little each day helps it seem fresher. The game does try to move around the objects in each room a bit and give you new things to find each time. The graphics are nice, and objects are very easy to pick out. That doesn't mean everything is super easy to find, just that there's nothing unidentifiable. The hidden object scene rooms aren't exactly junk piles, but they're not neat either.
A real bright spot in this game is the butler. He is taking care of the mansion and main hall while you are selling things. In between selling, you can interact with him and have him do things around the house. There are also times when he'll give you tasks to do. It's worth it to just wait a minute between room searches to see what will happen next. Overall I really enjoy this game. Later in the game I would just recommend trying to pace yourself to keep the game from getting old.
I recommend this game!

While I didn't feel this was a bad game, I can't consider it a great one either. This one is primarily a hidden object game with a few pretty easy puzzles scattered throughout- usually one per location. Most of the puzzles are traditional in that you fit pieces of something together to make a whole object. There are also a few other types as well.
The storyline is as follows: a wizard has fallen into a portal and the only way to save him is to collect crystals and runes. Pretty basic. There are several different locations that you go to, and several of them are repeated later in the game. Each location has three or four scenes. You go between these scenes looking for hidden objects, and some of those objects help you to manipulate other objects in the scenes to find crystals and runes.
I thought the graphics were good, though they do have a cartoonish look to them. That I didn't mind, as all I really care about is being able to identify objects I'm looking for. There were a few cases where I used hints to find an item, but hardly any instances where the object I had trouble finding was impossible to distinguish. The sound I'm afraid I can't comment on- I played with the sound off. Overall the game was okay. I thought the hidden object portion was a bit challenging, but the puzzles very easy. I would recommend if you can get it on a sale like I did.

I love hidden object/adventure games, and I'm always looking for games that are bright and colorful with a low creep factor. I found this one on a daily deal, so I went ahead and bought it. This fits the bill, but I did have some issues that made me a bit unhappy.
This is a fractured object game, and on each level you'll have a few scenes to find pieces of objects, and once those objects are completed you can use them somewhere in the level. I've played games exactly like this before- one of my favorites, Snark Busters comes to mind- but for some reason this game just didn't pull me in. I finished it, but I found the longer I played the more I wished it would just end.
I think part of the reason for my dislike may be how easy the puzzles were and the fact that most of them repeated several times throughout the game. Most weren't even puzzles- they were things like memory games and matching objects to outlines. Very simple.
Another thing I absolutely hated was that there was nothing to indicate when you had found all the objects you could in a scene. In each scene there are fractured objects laying in plain sight, but there are also several that are hidden behind or within other things and can't be found until you do something in another scene. Problem is, since I didn't know when I'd finished finding the objects out in the open, I just sat there and kept looking for object pieces that weren't even there. It wasn't until I used a hint that I found out there were no objects left to be found at that moment. I ended up wasting hints in every level just to make sure I wasn't looking for things in vain.
The hint button, by the way, is not all that helpful. It will help you find objects that you may not be able to see, and it will tell you if you've found all the currently available objects in a scene- the thing I mainly used it for. It will not tell you how to use an object or what the next step is that you should take in the game.
I think the game could be cute for beginners of this genre or younger folks. For me it was just too simple. The graphics were so-so. It is an older game so I wasn't expecting too much, and the graphics were good enough that they didn't hinder gameplay. The game overall was okay, but not one that I would go back to.

Despite the fact that I loved the first two Snark games, I was a bit hesitant to get this one based on some of the reviews. Since I had some game credits I had bought for half price, I went ahead and purchased it without trying the demo. Although this one is very different from the first two, I have still enjoyed playing it.
As far as the game play, I did prefer the first two games where the objects you need to find are shown at the bottom of the screen. In this one a wheel pops up in the middle of the screen with multiple objects to find. The objects are not fractured like in previous games, but they do still combine to form one large thing that can be used to further the game. In each level you're ultimate goal is to find a photo that will lead you to the area you are to investigate next.
I am a bit baffled by some of the reviews I've read. Some mentioned blurry graphics- to me the graphics appear very similar to the first two games and I've had no trouble finding any of the hidden objects because of them. Others have mentioned the lack of a skip button for puzzles. I saw a skip option directly below the puzzles that I've completed, although the puzzles have been easy enough that I haven't had to use it. Someone else mentioned difficulty with the photo development scene. Honestly, it's not that hard. It took some trial and error, but I didn't have the problems others have described.
Overall I do prefer the first two games to this one. This game doesn't have the same quirky feel as the others- the music is the most notable difference, although the game also doesn't seem as playful. While the other games were focused solely on looking for the Snark and the outside world wondering where the main characters had disappeared to, this one has the added story of a stolen locket and trying to find out who framed the main character's fiance for that crime. There are also voice-overs in this one. Honestly, I could have done without those. The voices were fine, but did not synch up well with the scene.
Despite the differences between this game and the first two installments, I still recommend it. Unlike a lot of other hidden object games out there, it is bright, colorful, and not at all creepy. It's still fun to play, and is great when you want something lighter, easier, and stress-relieving.
I recommend this game!

I love playing HO/Adventure games, but a lot of the ones I've seen are very challenging and dark- both in storyline and graphics- and sometimes it's nice to have a break. This game was great for that. Although there were a few challenges here and there with the hidden object scenes, nothing was impossible to find, and the puzzles were fairly simple. As other reviews have stated, the story does have a nice fairytale theme to it, which is refreshing.
The graphics on this game are lovely. The hidden object scenes really were well done- as I said before, none of the items are impossible to find. No poorly-drawn objects or things so tiny you need a magnifying glass to find them. All of the scenes are interactive as well, as there are certain objects that can only be found by moving or manipulating something else in the scene. Again, the puzzles were pretty simple- no need to reference a walk-through for these. There is a hint button that will point out hidden objects, let you know if there's anything left in a room to do, or point out what to do next if you're in the right place.
If you want something that really makes you use your brain, this probably isn't the game you're looking for. If you want a game that's just fun to play and on the relaxing side, this one is perfect. The length of the game was okay- I was able to finish in two evenings, playing a couple hours each night. The storyline started out promising, but to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed by the ending. I just felt it was a bit anticlimactic given the build-up at the beginning, but it didn't ruin everything for me. I enjoyed this one and do recommend it!
I recommend this game!

I actually stumbled across a review for this game while looking at something else, and I'm so glad I did. It's incredibly original- I honestly can't think of another game like it. When you first start, you are shown the main map for the game. At first it just looks like a green vine, but as you play games, buds will start to form on the vine, grow into flowers, and eventually turn into the boxes that you can open to find a new level or scene. By finishing or getting to a certain point in each scene, you will win an object that helps you open up the next box.
The levels that I've played so far have been primarily hidden object scenes, but there are other puzzles and games mixed in as well. I have found the hidden object scenes to be quite challenging, but most of the other types of levels to be pretty easy. Despite this, I still love the non-hidden object levels. There are many different types of games included in these levels, and although they're not difficult, most of them are still cute and fun.
The hidden object scenes themselves are some of the most challenging, but also some of the most original I've played. They're very different from most games I've seen- no random rooms filled with piles of junk here. The scenes are vibrant and fun to look at. There were several times when I looked at a picture and thought "how on earth am I going to find anything in there?" Yet once you get acclimated to what you're seeing, objects just start to jump out at you. If you have trouble there is a hint button that refills very quickly.
The beauty of this game is that you never know what to expect next. There really is no storyline, and none of the levels or scenes have anything to do with each other. While the non-hidden object levels are easy, they are so varied that you still get the excitement of doing something a bit different, and therefore, fun. This game also seems to be very family-friendly, and children and adults alike should be able to enjoy it. Overall, great game!
I recommend this game!

Although I prefer regular hidden object games to fractured, this game still kept me entertained. When I saw this on a daily deal, I decided to play the demo and was so into the game I had to buy it when the demo ended. I loved how vibrant everything was. After playing several creepy and dark hidden object games, it was really nice to see something with some color and humor in it. The graphics were nice and the music upbeat. No creep factor here. If you're a steampunk fan, you'll absolutely adore the graphics.
If you want to play a fractured hidden object/puzzle game that doesn't leave you pulling your hair out in frustration, this is a great game to go with. Some of the object pieces were difficult to find, others pretty easy. The puzzles weren't super difficult to figure out, but there was enough thinking involved so that they weren't gimmes. Another thing that made it a little less difficult is that with very few exceptions, the objects you pieced together had to be used in the room you found them in. No traipsing over dozens of levels to figure out where your object was useful. If you do get stuck, the hint button is great. It recharges fairly quickly, and will point out object pieces you may have missed or point you in the direction you need to go next.
Again, this game is great for someone looking to be entertained and not overly challenged. I had a great time playing while it lasted. That is probably my biggest issue with the game- the length. I was able to finish in one afternoon with no problem. Because of this I'm not sure I would pay full price for it, but for getting it on a daily deal I'm very happy with it.
I recommend this game!

Unfortunately, this game did not appeal to me at all. Normally I wouldn't even consider a game like this, but when I saw it on a daily deal, I figured I would try the demo. There are times when I love to have an easy, casual game that doesn't take much thinking, but even so I'm afraid I can't recommend this one.
In this game you're trying to find artifacts hidden on an island that you inhabit. A hurricane has hit, and you are trying to locate the artifacts to make enough money to rebuild your home. You find the artifacts by playing mini games. There are several different games, although all of them involve matching of some sort. For those familiar with it, one of the games is similar to Bejeweled where you are trying to make lines of three matching objects. Other obstacles such as wood blocks and ice are thrown into each game to help keep them varied.
I don't believe that anyone over the age of 8 would find this game to be any kind of challenge. If you can match shapes, you can do these mini games. To be fair, I did relaxed mode and not timed, so that may give a better challenge. Quite frankly I was so bored by the games that I don't care to try it again either way. I thought the storyline was weak. What doing these mini games has to do with finding artifacts I still have no idea. If you have young children you may want to consider this one, otherwise I'd recommend steering clear.
I don't recommend this game.
