Matchmension: House of Mist is another in a string of match 3 games that are not very challenging or even all that much fun. The gameplay simply didn’t grab me and although the story is good it simply isn’t enough to keep me engaged.
The match 3 portion of the game seemed nothing more than removing the tiles and although there were power-ups to earn they only exploded a set number of tiles. There was some variety with the varying tasks but not really that much that it made the game exciting. So although some of you might really enjoy the game, for me it is a pass. As always, please try the demo to see if House of Mist is a game you will like. Happy gaming!
I don't recommend this game.

Match Three Pirates Heir to Davy Jones is a run-of-the-mill match 3 games that I didn’t find very exciting or interesting. I didn’t last more than 4 levels before I decided the game is not for me. I am guessing the game would appeal more to pre-teen boys who are quite taken with a pirate theme.
Perhaps I didn’t understand the mechanics of the game but I couldn’t find an exit button and after several attempts at finding one, I finally hit CAD and exited the game that way.
If you are crazy about pirate jig and cannon explosions you might enjoy this game far more than me. There are some absolutely excellent pirate based match 3 games to be found here at BFG but this isn’t one of them. Heir to Davy Jones seems rather simplistic and light, a very easy game that, as I mentioned earlier, is more suited to younger gamers and that is okay because kids need to have some computer fun time as well. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!

I have a hard time believing that this is Fantasy Mosaics 33. I know, thankfully, that we never seem to have to wait too long for the next game in the penguin saga but it is hard to imagine that game 33 is here already. There is another mosaics game that I love now as well, but I still feel a certain fondness and loyalty to Fantasy Mosaics.
When I began playing FM 33 this morning I was surprised at how it began with a bit more challenge than is usually the case and I was happy to see it. I also love the seemingly new mechanics of the way we enter the next set of puzzles.
For all of you who love Fantasy Mosaics I am sure you will be happy with this game and it will most likely be an instant buy for you. After all we lovers of mosaic puzzle games can never seem to get enough of them. The great thing is that we can play a few boards when time allows and then pick it up and begin again. The only thing I would love to see in future games is that if we must stop playing at some point, we have the option to save the current board so that we could come back and pick up where we left off rather than having to begin again.
All in all, Fantasy Mosaics and the penguins are still a long-time favorite game with me. As always, please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!

Kingdom Chronicles 2 is the follow-up game to the original that was released seven long years ago. Since I wasn’t playing TM or Strategy games at that time the wait hasn’t been as long for me as it has for those who absolutely loved the original. Because of the solid 5-Star rating for the game and because I have in more recent years developed an interest in TM games, I decided to give this one a go.
Okay, I don’t generally even look at a TM game that has a timer but I didn’t let it stop me with Kingdom Chronicles because once I began to play the game I found out what others said was true. This is such a fun and excellent game! Okay, there is a timer but whoop-de-doo, it only really matters if you are someone who must have all 3 stars or you sink into desolation. Since I don’t really care whether I get all stars or not, I plodded on into this very fun game.
Everything about Kingdom Chronicles 2 is quite entertaining and even though I am generally rubbish at playing this type of game I have had so much fun figuring out the strategies that will allow me to move ahead. Even though I won’t get 3 stars on most of the higher levels in the game, I can at least continue playing after the time runs out. Since I have enjoyed playing this game most of the morning, I went back and looked at the original Kingdom Chronicles game and decided to try it as well. The original game had an almost perfect 5-Star rating and I can see why the game has such a large following. So now I have 2 new TM/Strategy games to play.
The graphics are very cute in Kingdom Chronicles 2 and I am enjoying the sound effects as well. I always play games with the sound no matter the type of game and it is rarely that I ever mute it so I was happy to find that I the sound effects in this game are very good and add to the fun in the game.
Even though I am by no means an expert in playing TM/Strategy games I am having so much fun with Kingdom Chronicles 2 and have no hesitation in recommending the game even to beginners. As always I recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!

Phantasmat Remains of Buried Memories is the 13th game in the series and it is nothing more than a gasp at keeping a series that should have been nothing but a “Buried Memory” alive. Honestly, when will BFG or developers realize when enough is enough.
The game begins in an odd manner and I wasn’t sure if I had done something wrong but at least the beginning, strange as it was, is probably the best part of the game. I am not a fan of the Phantasmat series and Remains of Buried Memories reinforces why I dislike it. That being said, the best parts of the game are the HOS and the Puzzles. The HOS are excellent and creative in their presentation. My only complaint with the HOS is that some of the items are very small and blend into the background making them almost invisible. Although we have seen many of the puzzles before it is a good thing since the instructions are terrible.
Of course with a Phantasmat game I expect dark and dull graphics so the graphics in Remains of Buried Memories live up to my expectations and that is not a good thing because I hate dusty and decrepit old houses or hotels. I don’t think it was too long ago that the monster in a game was a tree-like sort of thing so here we go again.
In the end there is nothing about this Phantasmat that makes it stand out from all of the previous games in the series. The exception being that the original Phantasmat was incredible and one I still play today because, IMHO, that was a game that was hard to beat. If you love seeing tree monsters, cobwebs, spiders, and an old house in shambles then you will most likely love this game. For me the game is a definite pass and another that is going on my list of non-purchased games. Thankfully, we have had a few wonderful games to start off 2019 and those will be the ones I play. As always, please try the demo because Phantasmat Remains of Buried Memories might be perfect for you. Happy gaming!

The Chronicles of King Arthur Episode 1 – Excalibur is a very good game but unfortunately the developer has taken a lot of liberties in retelling the Arthurian Legend. I am not a purist when it comes to computer games but I think that the developer should have presented the legend of Arthur a bit more accurately. Aside from that the Chronicles of King Arthur is a very good Match 3 game which is why I gave it a 5-star rating.
The graphics and voiceovers are excellent which all add to the atmosphere of the game. As another reviewer has mentioned the game is basically the same as all of the other “Chronicles of” games but that is not something that bothers me at all. I so absorbed in the gameplay that I was surprised when the demo seemed to end so quickly - LOL. A good indication that this is a game I must have.
Even though I think this is a terrific game, as always, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy it as much as I do. Happy gaming!

Meadow Story is a TM game that I have been waiting for. I know that some gamers will think this is a childish or very easy game but for those like me who are fairly new to the genre I find this a perfect game. Yes I have some other TM games that I really like but for me this is a fun and happy game.
The graphics are bright and really cute. I love the pace of the game and find it easy and relaxing to play. If you are new to playing games here at BFG and would like to try the TM genre of games then I highly recommend that you give Meadow Story a go. It is not too difficult for those who are new to playing TM games and even for some TM veterans it is perfect for when you don’t want an overly challenging game. I have found it fun to collect resources and to build a new town for the Halflings. When I play TM games I always choose the easiest mode of gameplay as I am not yet comfortable with playing a timed mode.
As always, please download the demo to see if Meadow Story is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Rainbow Mosaics keeps on getting better with each new game and now our garden helper has found his match – lol.
There are so many things that I love about the Rainbow Mosaics series and only one is that this game seems more challenging. It looks like the developers are hearing what we have had to say about wanting more challenge in mosaic type games. As I played through the levels it was apparent right from the beginning that this is a mosaics game that would require a bit more logic to figure out where the tiles should be placed.
When it comes to tiles, the developer of this series has provided many sets of tile options and I have fun changing my tile set as I play the different boards. As I fill in the tiles I sometimes know what the completed board will represent but it is nice that we are shown the completed board along with a label so we don’t need to guess what our completed board will look like.
I play a lot of mosaic games and when I am bored playing my favorite game or if I have only a few minutes to take a break, I will often go to Rainbow Mosaics. I love the theme of Helper’s Valentine and since this is the month of love, it is a perfect game to play.
If you are new to BFG and to the genre of mosaic games, I highly recommend that you try Rainbow Mosaics Helper’s Valentine. As always, please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Puppet Show: Porcelain Smile is the 15th game in this long-running series from AMAX/ERS, another that has fallen victim to this producer’s love for ENDLESS series. That being said I did decide to give the demo a try, promising myself I would do so with an open mind as I am predisposed to dislike the interminable series that are simply cookie-cutter games. As it turned out, even though there are some things I dislike about the game, I found myself involved in the storyline and the gameplay. Okay, I realize that some long-time players of HOPA games will find the game far too easy for their tastes but at least for me the game did require some thought.

When beginning to play we select our game profile from an array of either male or female photos. There is a “Custom” game mode available that is better than what we find in most games. The hint and skip times provide a better time range with the lowest being 5 seconds, which is more to my liking than the usual low of 10 – 15 seconds. IMHO, there is no other developer that creates such beautiful and realistic characters for their games, which is what attracted me back in 2009. Sadly the voiceovers have not always been the best and those in this game are downright awful, from the wanna-be cowboy voice of Otis to the squeaky high-pitched voice of Dee Dee. Unfortunately the soundtrack was not that good either and I had to mute the sound while playing one of the HOPS because it drove me batty.
This might not come as a surprise to those who have read my reviews in the past but I loved the HOS in Porcelain Smile. I have become bored by all of the storybook scenes that developers now use in most of their games and I find it quite refreshing that this developer used mostly the “original” list style HOS in Porcelain Smile. The HOS are interactive and one of the early scenes had me using the hint button – something I rarely do in HOS.
The mini-games were a bit easy but I did enjoy almost all of them that were in the demo. A lot of my favorite puzzles were used such as the one where we move tiles on a board to create an opening large enough to remove an item. For me the puzzles seemed to flow well in the game and did not seem to be thrown in simply to extend the gameplay time.
Although Porcelain Smile is far from the best game in the Puppet Show series, I found it enjoyable and one worth adding to my gaming library. In the past several years I had more or less given up on the Puppet Show series as many of the games were quite dark, and although there is a warning at the beginning of Porcelain Smile that some of the scenes might be disturbing or contain violence, I’ve not seen anything in the game that was out of the ordinary or even bothered me. Even though I might have found some things in the game that I did not like, in the end I found it to be a very good game and one that is a buy for me. As always, please try the demo to see if Puppet Show Porcelain Smile will be a game you enjoy. Happy gaming!
