I really liked this gave, I loved the art and the storylines and the collectible objects. If you're a Grim Tales fan, you shouldn't miss this installment. I gave it only 4 stars because of the absence of Richard (who was on vacation). The game just didn't not seem complete without him being there. Other than that I wish we were allowed at the end to go back and find missing screen saver parts or Collectibles that we missed. I got all the collectibles, I missed a lot of screen saver parts (which is really the opposable of what I usually end up doing but all the collectibles. The Gray/Black Family Tree always puzzles me.. My advice to fans is to buy it--hopefully Richard will be back in the next installment.
I've liked all the games in this series, including this one. The plot line gets a little foggy at the end of the prime game. This is not as scary as other games in the series--I wish it could be. It seems like a lot of developers are scaling back the horror. Maybe a rating system would help. Especially the first game had me practically jumping out of my seat, this did have suspenseful scenes, but I felt the horror level was diluted. If they do another one of these I hope that make it as scary as the earlier entries in the series.
I've played almost all the games in this series. This one was better than some, but not as good as others. The story line was difficult for me to follow, leaving me with more questions than answers. This series used to be rather gruesome and very scary--I didn't find anything scary in this one. I hope that the developers will go back to providing us with a true horror game as we've become accustomed to in the new entry.
This games is definitely up to part with the other games in the series. I like them because they are very scary and you don't know what you can expect from the endings. In this era when it seems like really scary games aren't available as much, I'm glad they are still making some. I also like it because they allow you to go back in the end and pick up the collectibles you've missed while playing. I wish all the studios would do this.
I enjoyed this game in this new series almost as much as I liked the last one. The plot line seem somewhat dependent on having played the newest Mystery Trackers Fall of Iron Rock to complete understand what Shrine is and what was going on. That's the only reason I did not give it 5 stars, but I an for give that. It's a fun and good game, get the CE, it's worth it. Beware though if you miss a collectible during the game it doesn't give you a chance to go back and look for it. This is the 2nd one of these that I've missed only one and it's aggravating.
Epix outdid themselves with this game. It was the creepiest and scariest game I've played in a long time. Great artwork, story and music. If you like to play horror games and aren't squeamish this is a good choice for you. The great thing about it too, if you miss any morphing items or collectibles you are given a chance to go back at the end of the game and find them all! I love that feature.
I love the Grim Tales series. I enjoyed this installment as well along with it's high standards of artwork, music and effects. It's not a scary story by comparison with some of the others, but i'ts very good. If I were to have any complaints at all it's that it was too short. The bonus chapter is definitely worth paying for the Collector's Edition.
I have played every game in this series and enjoyed this one because it was a bit different. The artwork, story, and music were very well done as usual. This game got away from many redundant plot points from other games in the series. It is a long game and worth the extra money for the bonus chapter. I'm glad to see the series getting away from very similar stories.
I've played almost every game in this series since the beginning and enjoyed this one very much. It was up to the usual high standards of artwork, music, and animation that sets Elephant Games apart. Beware, if you don't get things accomplished in the correct sequence in the bonus chapter, you can't finish the game. I had to replay the bonus chapter because I could not obtain an needed object at the end, this is an obvious bug--but after checking the strategy guide and online sources, I was able to do things in the proper sequence and finished the game off. Also make every effort to collect all the figures, you won't get a chance to go back and look for them again when you finish the game. The CE is worth the money for the end chapter, the main game will leave you in a cliff hanger otherwise, so I recommend going for the Collector's Edition.
These games take a kernel from Poe Stories to weave almost entirely different tales. I think Dupin is aging in reverse again, he's never looked so dapper. This was a good game, good artwork, music and collectibles. BE ALERT, make sure to pick up ALL the fortune cookies or you won't be able to complete the bonus screen saver. The same is true for the other collectibles; as always I wish these games would allow you to go back and find the collectibles you've missed. One of the better games in this series I think.
