In this ghostly continuation of the Fear for Sale series, you've discovered a luxury ocean liner bears an eerie resemblance to a ship that vanished years ago.

I have been playing big fish games for many years and have always relied heavily on the reviews. I felt bad recently that I seldom ever leave one and so decided to start making copious notes while playing (I play so many that sometimes I forget by the end each detail that deserves kudos or even critique) so I could start doing what some reviewers have done that led me to purchase a game after trying. So I'm not gonna be one of those reviewers who gives you game details (I'll leave that for those who do it so well). But I definitely want to shout out to the devs and other fishies just why this game is beyond anything I've played so far. First, the demo was 90 minutes and by the time it ended and I knew I had to buy, I feared I was over halfway through the game. NO WAY! Whew, I never saw the next part of the saga coming after investigating the murder. This storyline was so fantastic and I played for hours last night and all day today (since 8 am; it's now 5:30 pm) and just now finished main game and getting ready for the bonus game. Worth every cent here. The music was sooo relaxing. The voices were realistic in their roles. The picture quality/art? Let me say that after using the cannon in the ship cemetery, I was MESMERIZED by the ocean water. After backing out, I stepped back in just to view that amazing ocean view and it felt like I was, literally, on a beach watching the waves sparkle. The storyline was so involving and I especially loved the point system; kept earning major points for doing what we always do in HOAs. The puzzles were fantastic and I admit: I still consider myself only an intermediate because of puzzles. My logic is just not that great there, but I keep pushing myself to not skip them as they build logic as you keep playing them. If I have to have a start, I look at the guide and only view the 1st 2-3 steps of 15 or so and from there I can usually finish them. These were some tricky ones (probably why the game lasted so long for me) and full of fun. The entire game has me waiting with bated breath for this company's next release. I will point out that in the differences puzzle, 2 items were different that didn't count towards the 8 to find: black branch above and left of jack-o-lantern; above that a branch on the left hand side was missing from the right hand pic. The lower left hand branches differed from the right hand pic.
Do NOT miss this game if you love a great storyline, calming music, atmospheric scenery, and engaging puzzles and hops.
I recommend this game!

I have never played a game without an interactive map is that is my own hint system I use when I'm stuck. So this one not telling me locations that needed my attention at first put me off. Of course, I could always use a walkthrough since this was an SE, but BFG didn't have one. Yes, orchid games did, but they didn't give puzzle solutions, only HOS pics to show locations. But everything about this game was like a CE. And I did find that the hint button would not even empty sometimes after it had led me several paces to another location. All in all, these things made the gameplay enjoyable and quite challenging. I spent several days to get to the end of this one. The one thing that was different was if you couldn't figure out the solution to a puzzle, you couldn't get a hint, only skip it. That's part of the reason it took me so long. I HAD to figure out the puzzles without any help and ended up only skipping a couple. I will say that although this was in France, no French accents were used. Some were normal, others more British. But I loved this game and look forward to more from this developer.
I recommend this game!

As other reviews have stated, and the reason I chose to purchase this catch of the week, this game is mind-blowing. The graphics were amazing and you did indeed feel like you were watching a movie with all the cut scenes. The puzzles were just the right challenge for me and the level of skill required in some of them made have to go to the walkthrough. I always use maps to help me get around as well as telling me where I need to go next and only use hints if I'm really stuck. I had to use hints in this game more than any other I have played as I couldn't even find some of the objects in the HOS. The only thing I didn't anticipate was the ending and was surprised by the lack of some kind of conflict or showdown between Vanessa and the traitor (whom I did not suspect until she found the object in the study which jogged her memory).
I recommend this game!

At the time I downloaded the demo today, there were NO reviews. After playing the demo, I knew I had to have this game and play it to the end in order to write a thorough review. I was thrilled with the quality of puzzles, as most were unlike the standard variety in HOAs. The hidden object scenes were great and not too many for a HOA. The music was relaxing yet invigorating and there was NOT a lot of running from one end of the kingdom to the opposite to retrieve or use items. It took me a while to realize that and to begin looking closeby for where I had seen that place I now needed to return to and use a newly acquired object. I have not played any of the other Hotel games, and hope that going to try them now won't be a let down in terms of the storyline nor in the beautiful graphics and unique puzzles.
I recommend this game!

I finished the demo before the hour (only included 2 chapters) and felt I would enjoy this game since it did not have sooo many HO scenes. The puzzles are good, though I suspect fairly easy for super puzzlers as I am not a whiz at them. The only issues I had with the CE was a) the strategy guide had one mistake in it (I did a complete search and never found reference to where to find the cotton) and was annoyingly 3 levels down from the journal (meaning you had to click out of it 3 times if you were looking at a puzzle solution) which for those of us old fishies, can be the difference between remembering all the clicks you just saw and tried to keep in your head. LOL. The other thing was a few items were nigh impossible to use, even though you KNEW this was what you should do, even after several attempts being told this was not the use for this item and checking the strategy guide to confirm you were right, it was all about a seemingly EXACT point you had to have your cursor on when, for instance, you wanted to crack the plastic egg in the nutcracker. Otherwise, the game was pretty simple in logic and didn't have you traipsing all over opposite ends of locations to get and use things. I even bought another one of the Dana Knightstone on a special purchase since I felt confident I would love them. I will say one thing that happened to me, though, I had downloaded the demo of this game quite a while back, I guess, because when I bought it on the site, it downloaded the game and there were actually 2 now in my game manager. When I opened the purchased version, my demo info was not there. I tried to open the demo I had played and activate it as already purchased, but it kept erroring out on me. So I just went ahead and started over on the CE I bought. Just a note in case someone else does the same thing.
I recommend this game!
