When I first joined BF (it feels a long time ago) the Hidden Expedition brand games were the epitome of excellence. One immediately knew, the game would have everything; good story, engaging characters and lots of challenges as well as a far amount of education and definitely entertainment! I am saddened to see the slow decline; now this latest offering is , (although graphically beautiful) really quite dull. During the game play there were many times when I said to myself, "its not the end, YET?" ...I NEVER say this about a good adventure game but THIS game is ugh....an effort......

I know and have loved this particular developer's games. I applaud their ability to make unique games that can stand up to the "big boys". Having said that, this game seemed rather lack luster compared to their other games which were more adventure games (as far as I remember, they featured NO HOG scenes. This is what made them stand head and shoulders ABOVE the game pack. ) However the story is good, and the quests and puzzles nice, but the voices are not good. I know that it is expensive hiring professional voice actors but the woman who does the voice for the main character sounds firstly completely disinterested in the job at hand. Her voice is perhaps clear but she also sounds a bit stupid and as another critic aptly pointed out, couldn't even pronounce, "Heavens" properly...eek.. So not totally thrilled, and hoping for a better effort next time.

This game was SO much fun; I loved everything about it. Normally I don't play HOGS (prefer straight adventure games if I can find them) but this game's hogs were so great...the hidden stuff was appropriate(ie one would find such items in each area, no rubber duckies, etc) and had plenty of interactive elements... The graphics and voices were fabulous and the puzzles challenging but not head scratchingly hard,,,, The story was intriguing( I love druids and adore France) so I was in bliss. It was nice and long and now I am trying to find another to meet its' standards!! Looking forward to the next by this developer!!! :)

I have to tip my hat to these developers....I can see that a lot of love and hard work went into this game, and it shows... The only issue I had was with the bell puzzle, towards the end, by the temple....there was no skip and as no one has written a walk through, I was stymied for a bit. I know a bit about musical notation which helped me in the end but I can imagine that it would be totally frustrating for most... I hope that more games will be forthcoming !
I am truly impressed by Cateia (sp) games; they always seem to offer wonderfully engrossing and LONG adventures. I adore that there are NO HO scenes, and although some of the mini games were HARD I felt like I had really used my brain (and really that is one of the perks of gaming, to keep the brain WORKING!) Oh yes; it isn't a collectors' edition, which I also applaud!! If you like adventure games then this one is for you!
I loved Nirbiru, and this game, Lost Civilization, which as others have said, seems to be a re release of said game. If you have never played Nibiru, then by all means, get this, otherwise, use your credit for the real thing(still available here at Bigfish!)

I hesitated purchasing this as there were a few negative comments... WHY??? I have only played about 10 minutes but HAD to come here and say what a great game this is. I think this is totally charming and well put together: Elephant games NEVER fail to deliver !! I am really enjoying the different type of HOGS found here; placing the items, rather than searching. It is wittily done and entertaining . The graphics are fabulous and the DETAIL in the scenes; even to the first part where one goes to the desk and sees the fist edition book page...I want to linger and savour every thing I come across.... RECOMMENDED!
