I like HOGs okay, usually prefer adventure along with it. This game is sooooo awesome! It is VERY long! Just when you think it's over, there's a whole new place to explore. Also, if you play HOGs, you know that as you near the end, everything you pick up has an almost immediate use. It gets really boring. Not this game. You pick up stuff that you need to use in a HOS, and you don't know what until you find that scene. Also, some of the ways in which you use items in the game takes a bit of thought---also loved that! The visuals are stunning, and the storyline good. The minigames are a bit simple, but for once I DIDNT CARE, because the game itself is so good. This game is well worth the money!
I recommend this game!

I know everyone else is like this is the greatest game of all time. Me, not so much. Yes, the visuals are fantastic, and there is a great storyline. What bothered me was that the mini-games, if you can even call them that, were very easy. And instead of searching for objects within the game, every time you needed something you just walk around until one of the HOG scenes is sparkling and it gives it to you---not much of a challenge. Also, I thought the game was going to be longer. When I had collected 6 of the 12 doubloons, I thought "Wow! I'm only half-way through! This is great!" and then the last six come really quickly. Still, if you are a HOG fan, you will love the graphics and storyline.

I bought this one because I have really enjoyed all the other Mystery Trackers games. But this one really fell short. I played on expert, which I like to do because it takes longer to finish and you have to use your brain more. But in this game, the expert level actually SKIPS some puzzles! At least twice I saw a device that I know I should do something with, but when I clicked on it nothing happened. I checked the strategy guide, and Yep! they were puzzles that I wasn't allowed to do on Expert! And it just wasn't a fun game. Either what you needed to do next was so pitifully easy, or completely illogical. If you want a good Mystery Trackers game, Raincliff is my favorite.

This game was okay. I played it on expert and it took 2.5 hours. That is way too short for the money, especially on expert. The graphics were nice, but the game itself was a bit boring. You knew what you had to do, and where to go. No challenge. If it was a long game, I wouldn't have minded so much, but this game really wasn't worth the money.
I recommend this game!

If you liked the Myst series of games, then you will LOVE this game! It is difficult, with a lot of logic required. But 99% of the time once you get it you're like "duh! I should've known that!" It is a VERY long game, which makes it worth double the price of the game. I really hate to buy a game and then two hours later it is over. This one took many days playing several hours a day. BE WARNED: It is NOT like Persian Carpet and Hound of the Baskervilles, both of which I found to be rather mediocre HOGs. This is a large file adventure game, with a LOT of puzzles to figure out. I think that must be why the rating isn't as high as it should be. People buy this game looking for a HOG and an easy casual game, and instead you get a hard adventure game. But, again, if you liked Myst, Riven, etc., then this is right up your alley!

This is by far the best hidden object game I have played on Big Fish. The story is captivating, the graphics great, and you never repeat a HOG scene. The mini-puzzles ranged from easy to difficult, but all were doable. The best plus of all, for me, is how LOOONNG this game took to finish! I hate to buy a game and then two hours later it is done. This game took me several days, playing a few hours each day. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately bought two other Mystery Trackers games without a demo, and I look forward to enjoying them as much as I did this one!

I had played Echoes of the Past: Citadels of Time, and thought it was pretty good. So when Castle of Shadows went on sale, I bought it without a demo. It is short and unchallenging. A few of the mini-puzzles were a bit hard, but the rest were easy. The storyline was weak; in fact there really wasn't a storyline, just retrieving parts of an amulet and then four gems. I played on the advanced level, and it gave you sparkly "shadows" to show you what objects you need and where they went. I can't imagine how pitifully easy the casual level must be.
Spooky Mall is a fun TM game. It is different in gameplay from most TM games, as you are restocking displays, giving info to customers, hiring a stockboy and cashier, and many other things. It is difficult but not TOO difficult----I got the gold on all levels---and doesnt get boring.
