Reclaim the robot factory and restore freedom to the land by defeating the evil genius, Dr. Badweld. Contraption Max is a fantastic puzzle game for all ages.
I was enjoying this game however it kept freezing on the success screen. Had to keep doing control/alt/delete to end game and start again-it did save the previous game info but that's more work than I want to do to enjoy a game. Looks like I'm the minority here so I won't fault the game itself.
I read a lot of the reviews and figured...gee, since 2015 they should have figured out that this game didn't have the categories available other than kid ones. NOPE, still don't have any categories other than those. Disappointing since it looked like a game I would love.
I had done all the good pictures in my previous puzzle games so when I saw the preview puzzles I was SO excited...and there's more-so many gorgeous photos. One thing they have added that I had asked for long ago is the ability to move multiple pieces at once. Now, I didn't get to the end of a puzzle before the demo ended so I don't know if it will have the same glitch as another game did-my screen just froze up when I tried to do a puzzle larger than 700 pcs. I prefer 1000 pcs for a challenge hence the demo ending-I like having something to come back to for a few nights. Definitely a buy for me!!
I missed Pixel #1-so came into #2 without any previous knowledge. Very easy instructions, LOVED the different sized brushes. Not a fan of clicking to have something autofilled-what's the point of that-the fun is painting it-but the choice of brush makes a big difference in those larger areas. Also loved being able to change the color spectrums-most of my pictures will definitely lean on the side of royal blue.
I have almost all of this designer's puzzle games and LOVE the pictures and features EXCEPT I love to do large puzzles and about halfway through I get this shadow nonsense where it takes me about 15 tries to place a piece-I had thought this was a glitch in previous versions but now see it is in ALL their games even this one which since it has a no time option I thought...great...I won't have to deal with that...well, I was wrong, tonight halfway through a fantastic picture sure enough I have that dang shadow again and can't see where to place the pieces. In previous games they said you can buy more time (I'm also guessing that this would prevent the shadows) but not sure since I can not figure out HOW to add time-and searching online got me no results-I can't be the only person frustrated trying to finish a picture and without any forums for troubleshooting it's upsetting to have to start puzzle after puzzle and leave them halfway through due to the shadows. I can't count how many of them I have partially done in each game and since it seems to be a time related thing-as soon as I get the shadow effects even if I come back to the puzzle later it STILL has it no matter how many other puzzles I do in between-it does seem to give me one shot at placing a piece after I've correctly placed another but if I click on another piece that option disappears. I wish there was someway we could contact someone to find out why this is happening and how to change it. I'm also with Pennmom36 about having an option to pick up multiple pieces to move them-I would say half the time I use up in these puzzles is moving pieces around. Well, I guess I'll just have to be happy with half finished puzzles... :(
my favorite puzzles in hidden object games are the swap/rotate tiles/pieces and this is an AMAZING collection of puzzles/photos. There are categories across the top with food names EACH one has many sub-categories and then there are multiple pictures in each of those. I tried all three types and I do prefer the slider ones with the picture in long lines and swapping those but I also like the others...you can pick how many pieces you have to work with-there is a "number" that counts down but even when it runs out you can finish the picture. There are achievements to earn but I'm not a fan of that so I didn't bother with those-and most look like they are lower level puzzles-I went right for the experts. I am definitely buying this and will spend many months trying to do them all!!
Okay, I LOVE this designer's games but I've noticed something that happens in this and a couple of others...I love doing large piece amounts usually over 800 and it takes me a few days to finish one however at some point when I click on a piece it suddenly looks like a shadow and you can't tell where it's going to land so you can't put it into place. Now I have never noticed a time limit even though it shows that you can buy additional time in the help section but when I go to the main puzzle I'm working on there is no option to buy time so I'm not sure if this shadow issue is time related or not. Unfortunately Big Fish no longer has trouble shooting so we can't get answers as to why something is happening and how to fix/change it.
I've finished Season Marbles Summer & this is very similar although it is a lot more complex right from the start-I do the 3 matches challenge and was pleasantly surprised when I encountered new items to be matched. There's a flower like block that you have to make multiple matches to activate. Took me a few tries until I realized you can make matches all around the perimeter of the enclosure, not just in the area of that block. Aa definite buy!!
It used to be I was just about finished one and the next would appear. I think the last 3 came faster than I could finish one. Again tried to finish the last design to see if I could see the next pics..nope, time ran out..which is a good thing-it means you are investing at least an hour on each of the more intricate designs.
I noticed if I right click the color number it changes faster without any repeated clicks etc.
With the 15th I noticed that when I did the last picture and then clicked on the "next" arrow it showed me the next set of pictures (not sure if it showed all of them-I didn't realize what I was looking at when the time ended) This time I tried to do the last picture to see if it did work and the picture was so big I didn't even get finished in the trial. Even though I do a lot of other games in other genres when I have a little time to kill or at the end of the night if I want to relax I always come back to my pixel arts. Someone mentioned some different ideas...wouldn't it be great to have a whole game where you don't know what the picture is going to be until you've colored it-and no outline either so it doesn't give it away. That would be amazing!! I don't need hand-holding so if I can't find one of the last missing numbers I just enlarge it until I do. It's not rocket science-if you can't find something in one color go to another-I do agree that clicking on the color block does not always seem to register..not sure why since they seem to have it fixed for other games.
