I agree with some of the other reviews...the graphics are not all that great. That being said, I loved it anyway! It seems to be one of those games that is just SO cheesy and absurd so that is the appeal. I don't understand why, but it is what it is. I do not think many will like this game as to the factor of absurd may irriatate some, while others, like myself & Sheerija, get enjoyment out of it. I URGE anyone to try before you buy!
The gameplay is very nice. ~There is not a map, but there are "bubble locations"(I cannot figure a better discription for this part) above the hint area that you click on to transport from one area to another. Big bonus for me, as I get tired of spending a good portion of my games clicking/walking everywhere. ~The hint recharges quickly. ~Standard inventory at bottom with Journal to the left. ~Pretty straightforward of where to go or what to do. Very nice when your brain is overworked and you just need something goofy and relaxing to ease the stress. ~ Careful with the HOS: some items are mislabled and slightly confusing. ie: a feather duster was listed as a Whisk, etc... another scene was a safe with jewelry in it. One of the items you are to find is a necklace. I clicked on all of the necklaces until I got the right one. All in All, I bought it with the 30% off deal. I like it.
My husband & I have been waiting for the new WM. I bought it 20 mins after it came up as "Tomorrow's Game Today". Couldn't wait. This is a game that you either like or you don't. Try any of the demos before you buy, but I always recommend trying ANY game before you buy. Looks easy enough, but it makes you double check your counting skills from time to time. World Mosaics may look boring, but give it try first.
I like this game. It is a typical "Find a missing person". I have Pros & Cons about it. Pros: --The graphics are wonderful. --The HO scenes are not very cluttered; some objects easy to spot, while others are partially behind something. --Extra bonus=find 20 "Eye of Horus" symbols throughout. --Achievements can be met, ie: Blue Diamond for playing 5 HOS without using the hint", etc. Cons: --The cursor was sluggish/lagging in places. (may be my computer being slow. Not sure. Didn't have a problem w/ other games right before this one.) --Maybe I'm just tired, but I used the hint a lot to figure out where to go or what to do next sometimes, ie: Not very obvious progression. (Some fish may LOVE this as a challenge as it doesn't do a lot of handholding.) All in all, except for the cursor problem, I would recommend this game.
The scenes were nicely drawn...I can't think of anything else. You are playing as the Professor's assistant. Obviously the Professor doesn't like to do ANYTHING. eg: "Assistant, why don't you fix the steam pipes as I always break out in hives from steam." or "Look for more clues. My eyesight isn't what it used to be, you know." Why not retire? --Alot of reading what looked like comic strips, then alot of reading dialog. --The map only shows photos of rooms on the ship, no room labels or hint on which one to go to. --The tutorial is straight forward...until you get to minigames or interactive scenes. I had to figure out the instructions/what to do myself. --The cursor is very particular. I clicked and clicked all over before it finally grabbed onto an item. The minigame with the reconsrtuction of a photo: the cursor would pick up random pieces and deposite them randomly. I finally had to skip. I would not Recommend This Game.
I read the "Help" guide to understand the rules. I started play, then I don't understand what happened. I just don't get it. For those of you that are willing to give this a try, I URGE you to reads the "Help" section first. THAT is the tutorial. Pros: It IS challenging, (for the players that really like a good challenge in their game)
Cons: The music sounded like a mix of "Christmas stuck in a 90's discotech". The font used looked like a chessy version of a japanese spoof type The "mover sphere" sounds like pacman while moving.
This is not a game that I would usually buy, but I'm hooked! The storyline is great. The mini-games are challenging...not impossible, but not easy-peasy. The extras that hooked me where that the player is also shooting random bad guys that pop up(earned extra hints for each one) & the clovers throughout the game to collect. The trophies are a neat bonus: i.e. trophy for finishing a level without any misclicks, spotting 15 items in under a minute, etc. A very well put together story, game, graphics, mini-games, etc. I would recommend this one for the simple fact of the relaxing factor. It's fun, yet relaxing. It's challenging, but not frustrating.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
I read A LOT of the reviews and was completely into it! I'm sure I'm not the only reviewer posting about the "Custom Game Options", So I'll skip that part. It is GREAT, by the way. That's where it ends. I just really couldn't get into this one. I am one of the fishies that looks for the unique games to purchase. This one fell flat. The game does not hold your hand. You really need your thinking cap for this one. Last, but not least...Another game where it seems like you spend more time walking to different areas than actually playing.
This review is based on playing a demo: I wanted to like it, but too much running around in circles and going back and forth. It made me dizzy after half an hour of playing. The graphics were well done. The map was helpful. That's about it. There was hardly any sound. ALOT of the same HO scenes over and over. I played the demo for 30 mins, then quit. I was too lost and completely turned around to finish. I spent more time looking at my map trying to figure out where I was and where I should be. It's a No Buy for me, even with the DD price.
