Based on the demo, this is an interesting and good game, though not different from the usual HOGs we're used to. Good storyline with interesting interaction/dialogues, good and clear graphics, easy HOS and puzzles, good voice-overs and the usual irritating music. And there is a Hint button in the HOS, a Question mark in the puzzles that tell you what to do, along with a map and a diary with characters, story, and tasks ahead. I think there's plenty information.
Based on the demo, all in all this is an average game. No voice overs, storyline the usuak need to free ghosts to free yourself, HOs not that sharp. The hint button is slow. Puzzles are more than easy. There is a map, the only useful feature in this game. And considering the size of the demo vs the size of the full game, and that I played the demo in just 35 minutes, I very much wonder about the play lenght of this game.
Based on the demo I believe this one to be as good as the previous Shiver in all aspects. My only criticism: you go back and forth, back and forth... and if you leave the game for any reason, either you have an excellent memory or you have to use the hint button (which is very good) or the SG to recall what you have to do / go back next. On the other hand, this will give you a very long play time ;).
This month of March has been a disapointment to me. All games have put me to sleep, but...
Well, this game got me hooked. The storyline is the usual "girl needs to save mother", the music is the usual "better switch it off", the graphics are good but not state of the art. Puzzles and minigames are not difficult, the hint button/instructions very helpful.
So, why did I get hooked? Because all the trivial tasks are presented and treated in a total new manner. And I had to use the logical part of my brain to get through.
So, though common, it is refreshingly different! Most of all, sincere congratulations to the developers for their imagination.
Music is quite bearable, graphics good, storyline interesting.
Not too difficult to play, enjoyable. But no hints, no guidelines, you have to decipher the little information given and play close attention to the sparkles. Meaning you have to use your "little gray cells" :) or buy the SG.
True adventure game but not frustating. Much better than the first. I like it.
I can't honestly say no more. Every person has his/her own likings. As far as I am concerned, this game bored me to death. Couldn't even play the whole demo.
I don't usually give 5* to a game, because I like to save the top rating to an eventual exceptionally good game that may come along.
This time I changed my mind because, though this game is not exceptional nor a mind bender, it is a very good and relaxing entertainment, very appropriate if you're seeking to unwind your nerves from the problems of the real world :).
Lately, it seems that all HO/Adventure games must come out first as CE. Bad sales strategy, in my opinion, because CE's are becoming too vulgar and losing their edge.
As pointed out by other gamers, this game seems to be made by two teams. It is dark and blurry in some scenes, others are bright and clear. But I think that the developers were trying to transmit the idea of different surroundings, only they didn't quite achieve that goal.
I believe this game can be an interesting SE. As it is, I don't think it deserves the extra cash.
