What a wonderful surprise to find this game on Christmas Eve! It's as fun as ever, though I must admit to nearly taking a star off for the "global warming" line. (That is SO over-done these days!)
All the old characters are back and the challenges are still there. Thank you for yet another great "Rescue" game! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I wouldn't totally give up this game if I didn't have anything else to do and didn't mind being bored. The items you collect are a bit small and the respawn time leaves you tapping your fingers on the desk. The story seems ok, but nothing to write home about. It's a lot of running back and forth, gathering, waiting, building... but the fun level is lacking.
Some might enjoy this game, but I'm not one. All I can say is "eh".
I don't know how they manage it. Every one of these games is a ton of fun with a lot of silliness and sarcastic characters. This one does seem a little bit slower than the others, but not enough to make any difference.
Yes, it's more campground fun. You keep the eco up and build tents and other attractions. For those who have played this game before, it won't be much new yet it's still a ton of fun.
Ok, so this really is more of the same old Heart's Medicine game. I did like the game, but it's WAY too stressful. There are a ton of side games and I couldn't even get passed the first one. (Finding enough of the hampsters which I have a horrible time finding anyway.)
By the time I finished some of these games I was so stressed out that I didn't want to continue.
I play games to relax. If they had a "relaxed" setting or a "no time limit" setting, this game would have had 5 stars from me. This is a great game for the people who love the challenge of clicking fast and seeing how fast you can spot something... but it's not for people like me who would rather take their time and enjoy a game.
Thanks... but no thanks. (And the story isn't enough to pull the game along.)
I'm one of those who plays games for relaxation and on the "relax" setting. Usually that's a rather fun and sometimes quick moving thing to do.
Not in this case. This game is SLOW. The characters move slowly and do their jobs slowly. The wait time on respawning items is lengthy and you can end up just sitting and waiting.
This reminds me of games from "way back when" ... when computers were much slower. I really could use a new, fun game... but this isn't it.
I wanted to like this game. I love this style game, but am not very good at them. That said...
I kept running out of money! I couldn't afford potions I needed to continue on, I couldn't finish the quests because I always seemed to need something I didn't have and couldn't get.
Ok, so my problem with the story isn't really all that big. It's just... odd. This game has always been pretty much reality based and the sudden leap into sci-fi throws me off.
That said, FANTASTIC game! I still love these games. While some people seem to think they have gotten easier (they have), I find that ok. I enjoy a nice, relaxing game and it's never boring. I hope they make many more of these... and soon!
This series is such a fun, relaxing little thing. The story line is amusing... but this time it ended abruptly. That could use a little work.
All the great characters are there and the gathering is interesting without driving you crazy trying to figure out what you have to get first. The snarky comments are still there and Max... gotta love that dog!
A good addition to this whole series. I hope they keep making them!
I've always hated that the Build-A-Lot games don't have a "relaxed" mode. Only the first two of these games were actually any fun.
As always they have made the timers so short that you can't possibly do what is required to pass the level without playing that level 5 or 6 times and having a lot of luck. At least you don't have to buy the building plans this time.
If you don't mind coming out of a game jittery, aggrivated, and frustrated, then you should have fun with this. Personally... I'd give it a hard pass... unless they come up with a "relaxed" version.
