I loved the previous "Love Story" games and was pleased to see this game offered.
Simple, yes. Relaxing - yes! Not every HOPA has to be dark and dire. The story is sweet and that is what this game is about. The one thing I would like is for some of the dialogue to not whiz by. I do not read as fast as in my much younger days. This game has no voice over and that is ok as long as I can read the dialogue or at least recall it before moving on.
No map but this game really does not need it. Besides, a little challenge works well, and the hint button is always there.
The scenes are clear and bright.
This game will not be for those who like the dark, dreary, complicated games. This game IS for those who like lighter fare or maybe a change from the darker side of things.
I can get "immersed" in the story and find myself pushing on to see what is next.
I only played 1 "case", enough to know I really did not want to do 12 of them. The game itself had potential - to be different from other HOG games for the story and approach.
Liked no jumping back and forth.
No voice overs at all but actually, I thought the written dialogue helped retain what I needed to come to the culprit conclusion I did.
The scene graphics were ok but the music was repetitive.
No hint buttons - none needed.
The themes of the cases dealt with real life things so that is good. The caution at the beginning was warranted for younger players.
Personally, perhaps from my job background, I felt it just not challenging enough. Or maybe I watch too many crime stories and read too many crime novels. Maybe I just expected more "searching for clues".
Overall, it was not bad. It will be a fast game to complete.
Ok, so my eyes are old and I totally enjoy hidden object games - yes, even with no darkness and a lot of back and forth to find things. So, these Big City Adventure games always rate high with me.
A new twist this time in that you are now looking for 20 gears (don't know why yet# and with 60 rounds, obviously they are not in every scene.
The hidden objects are getting more cleverly placed with each new release of Big City Adventure. So sharpen your eyes and enjoy the fantastic graphics.
The background music is a loop and not pertinent to the game, but I mute it anyway and only listen when the family is interacting #beginning and end).
I agree with a previous review that this game is a great one and do not be discouraged from negative reviews. It is basic, yes. Objects can be small - yes. No voice overs, so what. It is much like the Agatha Christie games but without the seemingly endless dialog. Sometimes, you just need a break from running all throughout a game seeking out an object or clue. This game does just that - gives you a break. The "kiss" theory here - keep it simple, silly. You can always immerse yourself in tougher games after a simple HO game!
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

Following the usual Big City lines, this game is not a brain buster - just fun! No mystery to solve. Just sit back, sharpen your observation skills and learn tidbits about Paris as you go. Some items can be a challenge to find as they blend well into the scenery. This is a nice break from the darker HOS games.
