I have never almost fallen asleep playing a game but I did on this one.
The story is lame and has no rhyme or reason, the characters are amateurish and almost comical, and the graphics were poor at best.
This is one of those back and forth games that I hate. Took forever to get off the boat and the HO's and puzzles were no help at all.
In the opening scene a fisherman is helping you cross the water and you take a knife and cut his pack and you didn't even offer any apology at all. That isn't nice at all. If that happened to be your pack, why not just unfasten the straps rather than cut them?
There are so many bad things about this game I could go on forever but I won't other than to say I don't recommend this one.
Play the demo and if you give it more than 2 stars then you saw something I didn't. I know it is definitely not 5.
I don't recommend this game.

This is obviously one of the newer Hidden Expedition games because it doesn't have the quality of the first ones. This one has all the qualities as far as graphics and challenges of the first ones but there is something missing that just doesn't lift it up to the excellent category.
HO's and puzzles are great and, despite what one other said, I never had to exit out of one for lack of help. They are fairly easy and fun.
I can't comment on the music since I tune it out and never hear it but the voices are human sounding and match the character and their mouths move when they talk which is a plus.
Nice bright and cheery scenery which is a plus and easy movement between scenes.
If this was the SE version I would probably buy and I do recommend it but I don't pay the CE price if it is available in SE. Play the demo and have fun.
I recommend this game!

At one time I was a huge Hidden Expedition fan owning most of the ones they have put out but this one has caused me to look harder at the series future offerings. I don't know what happened, either former developers moved on or company policy changed but this one is not worth the paper it is printed on.
The story line is weak at best, the characters border on comical and the action is boring. Usually Hidden Expedition has a story and they follow this story in a logical order with HO's and mini games helpinng you along. This one is a hodge podge of jumping around back and forth and useless conversations thrown in to supposedly enhance the game.
They are trying to get this pearl and when they finally do, they don't do with it what you would think. And this is just in the demo!
Graphics are good which is par for Hidden Expedition but that is where the pro's end. Everything else is con. Sorry I can't say anything good about one of my favorite series but it isn't here in this one.
Play the demo, you might like it but I didn't.
Not a recommendation from me.
I don't recommend this game.

SE games have nothing different from the CE games other than fewer bonuses which is fine with me.
This basically gets the same review as the CE version. I enjoyed playing this one and will probably use my credit to get it because I want to see what happens now that I'm out of the town.
I still like the little pirate helper but not so much the rooster and everything I said in the CE review goes for this one.
I recommend this one but play the demo first.
I recommend this game!

I just spent the complete demo in the town. As soon as I was able to leave the town, the demo was over. Only 40 out of 60 minutes. That is a total waste of time. If that is the case, this game should take forever to play. The Ho's are not that great, however, the mini games offer some interesting challenges and are enjoyable.
Graphics are pretty good and the characters, at least the statues, are drawn well. The people on the other hand...
One of the biggest pro's in this game is the little hint character. That little pirate gives 'verbal' hints which I am in favor of. Makes you think. The rooster is another story. Roosters don't fly and can't lift the weights he is lifting. I know it's only a fantasy game but come on people, let's be a little realistic. Maybe an eagle would be better.
I recommend this one, again with reservation, and suggest you try the demo first.
This is the CE version so I'm going to try the SE to see if my opinion changes.
I recommend this game!

This is an interesting game. Story line is typical and not unique but getting through is. This is almost a childish game but I found it intriguing to play.
Not too many HO's and mini games but they are thought out and fun to play and they actually add to the overall gaming experience.
Graphics are ok, a little dark for my liking but not bad. Characters need a little work in that their animation is on the ridiculous side but they are well drawn.
I don't think I'll be paying for this one, maybe a game credit instead.
I would recommend this one with the only reservation being that you play the demo first to see if it's your cup of tea. Have fun.

Just about finished the demo and I'm still on the fence with this one. I like the overall look of the game but some of the characters need work. Story line is acceptable but not great.
Most enjoyable part for me is the HO's and mini games. Seems someone actually put some thought into them and they actually help the story along.
Colors and graphics are borderline being not too dark but not too bright either.
I have reservations on this one. Don't think I will be buying but at least try the demo before you decide. Don't be swayed by reviews.
Recommend with reservations. Have fun!

A poem for the dead. This game fits the definition. It is dead to play, dead story, dead characters and hard to follow. HO's and mini games are a joke and add nothing other than waste time. The people are cartoonish at best and add nothing.
This is one of those games that flits back and forth opening things and has no purpose.
I don't recommend this one at all. Try the demo if you like but I couldn't even finish that..

This is one of those games that looks good at first but turns to junk when you start playing. It is one of those back and forth games that I dislike. Find something to do something else and back and forth and back and forth with no real goal.
Story is not coherent and goes nowhere and the characters are truly unbelievable.
One redeeming item is they use colors and not just darkness and gloom.
HO's and puzzles and mini games are not challenging and take no thought at all.
I don't recommend this one at all unless you are into boredom.

Same as so many other games I have played hoping for something great. Not here, just finding things to open other things, etc., etc., etc. This is getting so boring I may have to start playing kids games. At least they have color and are joyful
Graphics are poor at best and they need to give the reds and yellows and other bright colors back to the developers. I thoroughly dislike dark games.
HO's and games are boring and do nothing to really enhance the game.
I don't recommend this one at all. Play the demo if you want but I don't think you'll even finish that. I know I didn't.
