Of the 3 Secrets of the Dark games I have played, this one was the most interesting. Not a great game but not a total loss either. Story is fairly well written and easy to follow and looks as though the developers at least tried to please the players.
Graphics are nice until you switch to the dark side then they become dark and annoying.
Some of the creatures and ghosts would tend to maybe scare some of the younger set but when you have been playing as long as I have they are just ho-hum.
HO's are not that challenging other than the fact some of the objects don't look like what they are supposed to. Mini games are a blast except for the one where you have to switch the triangle shaped pieces to make a complete picture. Couldn't figure out how to make them rotate.
This is a recommendation with reservations. I kind of like it but don't know if I would use a credit or spend money on it.
Just play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!
I recommend this game!

I am a fan of some mosaics but this one didn't quite make the mark. Fairly easy to figure out where you should chose and logic and good guessing does come into play. Good thing is you can replay the level and, hopefully, remember where NOT to choose.
Graphics are nice and colorful which I like and some commented on the music which I wasn't even aware of.
I am not going to recommend this one only because I didn't find it that interesting.
But, play the demo and find out for yourself. This might be THE game you have been looking for.
Above all, Have fun!
I don't recommend this game.

After using a secret alias to board the Titanic, things go terribly wrong and you find yourself trapped among the wreckage. In order to earn freedom from your watery tomb you must appease your captor by re-writing history and freeing the spirits trapped aboard the 'unsinkable' luxury liner as well as discover why fate has chosen this destiny for you.

This could be a good game if...the hint did something other than tell you to go somewhere else, there was even a small tutorial or help screens, or if there wasn't so much running around trying to figure what to do. I don't care for back and forth games and the only reason you do it in this game is to figure out what to do. Too much time is wasted.
Graphics are ok but not great and the characters are drawn as though they were an after thought.
I don't recommend this one just because of the difficulty.
Not a fun game.

I'm sure I have played other Maestro games but they were probably as bad as this one and that is why I can't remember them. This is a definite forget me game.
Game play is your typical back and forth find this to do this type of game that gets nowhere and accomplishes nothing.
Kate gets trapped when the opera house starts to collapse and you have to save her but, wait, you have to run off and do these 20 other things first and then, maybe, you can save her. Sorry Kate.
Characters are about as exciting as watching grass grow except growing grass actually moves. No emotion at all except for Kate and hers is limited to a couple hand gestures.
Although this is not drawn in the dark colors that seems to be prevalent in HO's these days, these colors seem to be washed out and bland. Detail is pretty good though.
Although some gamers seem to rate this rather high, I can't agree. The excitement just isn't there for me and I have played probably hundreds of this type of game and this is about average compared to the others.
I don't recommend this game, like I said, because of lack of excitement but I encourage you to play the demo and decide for yourself. But do yourself a favor first, play the demo before you decide to buy.
Have fun!
I don't recommend this game.

I knew this game was going nowhere just by the scenes on the BFG review board. They are dark which usually means poor quality. I was correct.

Of course the game starts with a back story which is fine and there just so happens to be this group sitting around a campfire just chomping at the bit to go to this abandoned mansion and look for a faceless person who steels people. What else would you do on a weekend?
Riding to the mansion in the back of a pickup the girls long hair is barely moving in the wind and she has an actual pad of paper and a pencil, no tablet or even a cell phone. And, of course, she is the first one abducted. Maybe if game developers would come into the 21st century games could be more exciting. I don't know.
Another thing that got my goat was the emergency phone. Is it within easy reach? No, it's 20 feet up a pole that you have to find rungs for and then climb. Please developers, at least pretend your players are smart.
There are just so many cons in this game that I could go on forever but I don't like writing reviews that give everything away. I like to let the gamers find out for themselves.
Graphics are, like I said, dark and without any real detail. Makes for a very boring and unexciting game and does not make me want to continue. I played this game for a total of 13 minutes but I swear this game is so disorganized and flighty it felt like at least 30.
HO's and mini games are typical and not spectacular and, in some cases, confusing.
Oh, and by the way, there just happens to be this old crazy man in a wheelchair in the manager's office warning you of danger. Where does he get his food or who takes care of him? Just wondering.
I do not recommend this one at all. All I can say is play the demo and please don't be swayed by the reviews. Decide for yourself.
Have fun!

I started on this game because of reviews I saw elsewhere and because the opening cutscene of the elephant was great. Then they showed the guy riding in the elephant talking and no mouth movement and I knew it was downhill from there.

Despite reviews, this turned into the oh so familiar back and forth back and forth. Some of the objects you have to get make no sense at all like a door key buried or hidden nowhere near where it needs to be used and puzzles that make no sense.
The HOG's are not that challenging and, there again, you acquire something that makes you scratch your head.
Luckily, other than the spirits or whatever they are, you are the only person in the story so depictions of people are not an issue.
Graphics need a lot of work. Not only were they dark but they are on the fuzzy side and detract from the whole theme.
I don't recommend this game despite some of the good reviews.
Play the demo first before you decide to buy or not.
Have fun!

Not a big fan of most time management but this was a fun game. Not quite as good as Royal Envoy series but close.
Graphics are good and pleasant to look at, characters are small but have good detail and overall scenery changes with each level.
There are the typical collect the food, wood, and gold tasks but they add some more to put in some diversity. Have to save the pandas, fight off the baddies, diffuse bombs and open doors.
I enjoyed playing this one and may go on my buy list.
I highly recommend this game even for the gamers not crazy about time management. You might like it.
Have fun.

When I first started playing I thought "What is going on here?". Very minimal opening instructions and then it's just move around and click on things. But then I figured out the hint button and things started to come together. Still didn't make it that much easier but it helped and I finally got to the moon.
Graphics aren't bad and some are actually fairly interesting. Looks as though the developers might be interested in science fiction.
The game can be a little frustrating but I'm sure, with perseverance, it can be played. Just need a whole lot of patience.
No characters to deal with other than yourself so no issue there. Oh, when you do get to the moon, watch your oxygen. I didn't and ran out.
I kinda, sorta recommend this one but only if you have patience. I don't so it's a no buy for me but might be a 5 star game for you.
Have fun!

I just finished the third in the series and I must say, it is the best of the three and instead of writing 3 reviews that are basically the same this one will be all inclusive.
First, graphics are great with the quality improving in the series and the colors are mid way-not too dark and not too bright. Characters, in this case mainly animals, are drawn with attention to detail and are not comical or unintelligent.
The hint button can be a little annoying at times. Rather than show you what you need or point out where you need to go, I just tells you what or where and you have to hope you understand. Occasionally it will show on the map but the map is not interactive and won't transport you which is a waste of time doing all the back tracking to get to a certain place.
The HO's tend to be a little difficult at least for me and my aging eyesight but are not dull or overly challenging. The mini games and puzzles are some of the highlights and I found them mind expanding.
Music is nice especially if turned down and left to play in the background. Not really a tune, just nice background tunes.
I would recommend the series even though it is a little hard to follow at times.
Another recommendation is to play all 3 demos or you'll miss out on the story.
Have fun!
I recommend this game!

This is another HE game that sure looks bogus but, after checking, it's not. Evidently Hidden Expedition has switched to poor quality games like this and Everest, 2 of the worst games I ever played.
This one starts in some Mayan (I think) site and from there jumps to New York. (?) That is where I quit. Graphics are ok and the music is nice but that's it for the pluses. Again, hard to find items, limited hints and timed game make this a no buy for me.
I'll make this short and sweet, if you like wasting money or credits then buy this game. However, if you like using same for good, leave this one alone and, by all means, do not base your purchase on reviews.
I do not recommend this one at all but try the demo if you want. Maybe you'll like it.
No have fun here because you won't.
