I wanted to like this one, as I really enjoy Mahjong games, as a rule, but this game was simply too difficult. To start with, the game is timed option only, which I don't like...however, I do know that some gamers enjoy that, but if you are going set goals on speed you need a game that moves quickly. Unfortunately, this one does not. You need to click more than once to make a match, which is really irritating, even when you are playing an un-timed game. Also, you need to remove the gold tiles in a certain number of moves, which turned out to be almost impossible. I only managed on the first level. The tiles have some straight forward designs, but some have these little sprout things with tiny variations that are really hard to see. There are some different styles to allegedly choose from, but I could not make them change...might be a glitch. I also had to change from the custom cursor, as the game one just didn't move quickly enough...that might just be my computer, though. There are trophies to achieve and quite a few different arenas, with what looks like 12 layouts each. Some might find the length appealing, as lately games have been of a shorter ilk, which tends to leave one feeling ripped off. The only thing I can add is that Mahjong is supposed to be a relaxing strategy game and this one fails, in my opinion.

This is so much fun, I don't know where to begin! I love the creepy puppet...every time it jumps out on the screen, I just about wet myself! And the premise is pure fantasy, too. I mean, when was the last time you heard of teenagers going to a library? The music is pretty good, too...nice and spooky. The graphics are amazing, naturally, with an offering from this developer (my favourite); I even let them play out in each scene (usually I skip that part). The HO scenes are different from the usual...you put items back rather than finding them. It also seems like there will be lots of areas to investigate, although I have only played the demo so far. I really like the story itself...nipping back and forth between Shakespeare's time and the present...you cannot use items that are anachronistic...LOVE IT...I find this game so clever! You are trying to rescue the victims from Romeo and Juliets' fate by changing the books you encounter and when the characters speak they are using English accents and diction and saying things like "Paris is odious".......so makes you wish that all teenagers could take a time trip to the Elizabethan age! Please buy this game...I want the devs to continue on their creative path. Oh, also, the journal is good and there is a task page...hints are useful, and mini games good so far, but not too tricky.

This game has more than a few aspects I didn't like, such as dreary pastel graphics, really bad VOs and music, and HO scenes that are all picture finds only (no lists). I really dislike that kind of HO scenario and this time not only is it pictures only, but you can't look for all of them at once, some are locked until you find others. The trouble with this is that the items are tiny shards of stuff usually, and they are all grainy grey. It becomes tedious quickly and after a while I began to dread finding HO scenes. As the other reviewer said, there were no mini games except for repairing mirrors, and that was very simple. It wouldn't be so bad if you could at least explore, but the long expositions take up most of the time. The voice of the owl at the ticket office was enough to make me mute the game. Also, it looked as if it had been drawn by a beginner. Probably, our expectations are high due to the excellent art work found in most new releases, so when standard fare is offered it is just not sufficient. The hint button refills quickly though, I ought to know...after a while I was using all the time to finish the HOs.

This seems to be a mostly straight forward HO game with pleasant albeit slightly dated graphics. The VO of the main character you are trying to help makes you root for the bad guy, however...unbelievably whiny and annoying! The puzzles were slightly different than seen before, so that's a plus. There is no map, but there is an 'objectives' button that has a complete hint section to it, which is great. It will show you what you need in a certain scene. The hint button on the main screen will give a directional hint and reloads quickly in the easiest mode. The HO scenes are nicely drawn with some items hidden from view but no interactive objects. While this is a nice little game with some new elements, it does not really give rise to much excitement. Try it, you might like it.

This is the worst game I have ever seen! If you are going to create an M3 game, you have to make it move quickly..nobody wants to play a slow and cumbersome one. It seems you are trying to collect more of one type of food than the other, as indicated by a square on the bottom of the screen. Otherwise there is no change to the board, no coloured squares, no locked in items and no point to the game at all! I couldn't stand to play longer than about 10 minutes, so I am not sure if it improves at a later stage, although I seriously doubt it. I can't for the life of me understand why BF would even consider releasing this one!

I probably would have liked this game about 2 years ago, but it certainly doesn't measure up now. The HO items are tiny, and they have you use the same scene several times, which wouldn't be too bad if they didn't use multiples on the list as well, which I HATE...it is a totally lazy way to compile a list; ie: leaf x 4, fish x 3 and so forth. Also, there is no interaction in the scenes, just straight find the object. The graphics are only good on the cut scenes, not on the HO scenes, which look photographed. The voice overs are annoying...had to mute almost as soon as I started. The mini games in the demo were very simple and boring. There is no map, and the journal records what has already happened and is not very useful. The hint, when used outside the HO scene, is directional only. Overall, I would not recommend anyone buy this without first playing the demo..I have a feeling this was developed long ago and simply recently resurrected. Devs...leave it in the moth balls, where it belongs!

Sorry, but I have to agree with the other negative reviews of this one. Each scene has a nice look to it and I would have liked to explore each one, but as soon as I had completed the task and before I could look at anything else, I was moved quickly on to the next scenario. Some scenes have nothing to do in them; you just walk through them, which I found disappointing. I also hated the quest tab thing which kept popping up to tell you that the task was completed and telling you what the next task would be....really annoying!! I muted the sound almost immediately, and had to skip through the dialogues whenever possible, although sometimes you cannot do this...you have to let the lines run (really slowly) before you can investigate something. Also, I found it way too slow when I went to pick up items....just let me have the darn thing, so I can go on to the next item! Also, it has a lot of back tracking...there is a map but it is not helpful, as it only shows where you have been in segments...you can't see the whole thing as you just collect pieces of it along the way. There is also a side bar where you can look at notes and so forth, but I also found this to be puffy embellishment without a real purpose. I felt, overall, that this game could have been developed in more detail...a lot of nice art work goes to waste as backdrops. It has the feeling of being rushed in development rather than taking the time to expand the possibilities....really disappointing!

This is quite fun, if you are looking for some humour and not a lot of brain strain. The cartoons are cute and the writing is funny. The play is standard up and down form and you have extras earned along the way. A lot of solitaire games offer more but you could sit and play this for quite a long time...enjoyable and easy.

Loved it!! I was totally hooked by the demo..the graphics are amazing, the story is compelling, the HOs are interactive and different and the mini games are fun. You get to find morphing objects and use an interactive map, which is a must because there are tons of places to go! This really has a lot to offer for a SE. True, the scenes are a little dark, but it only adds to the overall spookiness of the story. Some strange disease has rendered most people in the village into a frozen state, while the children seem to be turned into shining eyed zombies....scared the cheese right out of me the first time I encountered one! A lot of fun!

I think I will be waiting for the SE as there are no collectables or other extras that are, to me, worth the CE price. I thought the game was fairly good and the story is interesting; the only thing I found irritating was the interruptions for dialogues (they are way too frequent)...you think you have found the thing you need but before you can go anywhere, an apparition butts in and blathers on at you. There is no map and, so far, a fair amount of back and forthing. Sometimes the cursor changes to a question mark, but nothing happens, not sure the point of this. The hint button produces a straight forward direction as to what to do next and it does recharge quickly. The graphics are excellent and the actors voices are good, although too frequent, as I have mentioned. The mini games are fairly easy but colorful and nice to look at. You can switch between match 3 and HO if you want. I tried both but disliked the M3 as it didn't run fast enough. Overall a good game but not up to CE standards, especially from these devs, who are normally my favourites.
