Review upon finishing the game.
As far as I remember this was one of the first IHOGs, when you first collected some things out of a HO scene that you had to use elsewhere - so this is as basic as a IHOG can get. In this case, stars tell you where you have to place your objects, and once you click the item either snaps into the correct place or a silhouette tells it for you.
The Good:
+ graphics adequate + storyline not run-of-the-mill + areas no longer relevant to the storyline are locked (although sometimes it's still not clear where to go next) + useful globe indicator on the left and right sides for placement of hidden objects
The Neutral:
o mini games only consist of finding 5 differences on tarot cards (the rest are more or less auto-solved) o game not overly difficult
The Bad:
- storyline moves too fast (missed some of it) - what did the bad guy even want? - lame final showdown minigame - some items hard to find in a little foggy areas
Bottom Line: Game mechanics moved on a lot since this game was published, so I can only recommend it for a sale.

Review based upon completion of the game.
This game is supposedly about the stories of Hieronymus Carl Friedrich of Münchhausen (1720-1797), a German nobleman. In German speaking countries he is known as "The Lying Baron" - at least it is said that those famous stories (the ride on a cannonball for enemy reconnaissance and changing to another cannonball mid-flight, dragging himself and his horse out of a swamp by pulling up his own hair) were told by him. In this version you try to get to a castle and reassemble a gem, ensuring a kingdom's prosperity, and of course save a princess in distress,
The Good:
+ bright, colourful graphics + association game + part-time FROG + very well done voice-overs, including comments when trying a wrong action
The Bad:
- has nothing to do with the original stories, they are hinted at, at best - very short game (about 2 hours)
Bottom Line: If you can live with a short game duration I can really recommend this funny game.

Review based upon finishing the game and the bonus content.
This is the second game in the series that pits you against an evil witch who causes mayhem in peaceful kingdoms. In the first installment you uncursed a sleeping kingdom, and now you run into her again on an island that has a beast on it and lots of frozen roses.
The Good:
+ graphics + game length + lots of devices to construct + helpful hint system that tells you where you have to go next + diverse mini games (had to skip only one slider that trampled my nerves, the rest was fairly straightforward) + journal provided hints
The Neutral:
o no more fractured objects! (I like those games) o journal leaves pages blank that you fill up later, which can become confusing o Spider Warning! The strangest one I have ever seen in the main game (giant!) and a big one (that you have to shrink) in the bonus content
The Bad:
- walkthrough not really good (list, does not bookmark your game progress) - no direct interaction with evil things - not always clear what do to next if you are not using a hint
Bonus Content:
- good sized bonus adventure (find a kidnapped inventor), 1-2 hours duration, 13 walkthrough pages - Wallpapers in 5 different sizes, rotating, thus difficult to select - some concept art, sliding, not bad to select
Bottom Line: If you can get over the fact that there are no more fractured objects and don't mind spideys too much I definitely recommend this game.

Big City Adventure goes IHOG! We are taken by the hand and walking through the streets of London this time...
The Good:
+ story + still brings you the classic BCA treatment with historical facts + quick-travel function using the map + indicator on the map where to go next + helpful walkthrough (just ask the appropriate question for your situation) + game duration (about 5 hours for me) + voiceovers! + some really clever riddles (Presidents!)
The Neutral:
o it seems to me that the London map is not quite correct in the placement of the locations o mostly easy o some riddles trial and error (Shakespeare! - although I guess you are to place the books in chronological order, but I did not want to tab out and wiki this)
The Bad:
- expected story twist near the end - some items not placed in a logical way, e.g. I'm running all over the city to find a lock combination, open the drawer, and find... A PACKET OF MATCHES! *rolls eyes*
Bottom Line: The best Big City Adventure yet - bring on a new city!

Review based on non-cheated timed mode.
This game is the follow up to Plan it green. Instead of a town this time you improve a whole island. Again, there are different districts to improve from existing pollution to bring in tourists and make inhabitants happy. In addition to that you learn a little bit how to live greener yourself - a very important point, especially for countries who put economy in front of ecology.
Differences to the first game:
- Finishing levels in timed mode nets you coins, which can be used for cheats that make the game easier or even more difficult.
- Catastrophes like floods or hurricanes that have to make you repair your buildings (unnerving!).
- Buildings do not carry over to the next level. (I liked the old version better.)
Bottom Line: The intent of the game was well meant and is important, however, in my opinion the first game was better than this.

Review based on finished game.
Actually there is not much to say about it. If you've played the original Ravenhearst you know the story, only that it's told three times over. At times the story is a bit creepy, but the end did not make much sense to me. I like FROGs, so there is a lot of fragmented stuff to find. As usual, finding objects that feel out of place is not very tricky, some objects are cleverly hidden though, sometimes on the edge of the screen, where you tend not to look.
Anyway, in this game sometimes it's not that complicated finding the fragment, but rather where to place the finished object.
Minigames are varied, but very easy throughout the game.
Bottom Line: Only recommended if you are desperately trying to find another FROG.

Review based on the complete game.
This is the second game in a series of now 4 games, preceded by a story about Edgar Allen Poe. This time it's about a man named Hawthorne, which I - unfortunately - do not know.
But everything that made Poe a great game is back. You are approached by a ghost, who drags you into the story. The trademark raven is back. The lantern is back.
Graphics are very good and clear, the story intriguing. In addition to the completion of the story you can collect items and finish achievements.
Bottom Line: A very good installment of this series; you will get a CE version for the price of a normal game. (If you count achievements as CE material.)

From the developer that gave us the Big City Adventure series. Review based upon completion of the game.
You get what you know from the BCA series. An introductory game (Puzzle, memory, mahjongg, alternating). New was a black and white scene in which you have to place back coloured versions of the item, and an IHOG variant after the standard two junk pile scenes in which you have to figure out the goal of the level. So we get: Intro game - black and white scene - 2 junk scenes - IHOG scene. Rinse and repeat 19 times for a total of 20 levels. All this is held together by tarot cards and a story of an "introduction" as Tara walks around the country guided by a peacock. To be honest, it did not make much sense to me.
Graphics were okay, objects were a tad bit blurry when playing in full screen mode on a 23'' screen. Wide screen mode was available, and objects were sharper, but in that mode there were VERY wide black bars to the left and right.
Bottom Line: The game was okay on its own. If you like games by that developer, get it during a sale. No recommendation for full price though given that it's 3 years old.

Well, it looks like a bright adventure game with some Hidden Object scenes strewn in, which for the most part you don't have to do. (You can revisit some scenes in exchange for hints.) The ones you actually have to do fit in with the story - like finding Kellie's makeup stuff and applying it in the next scene.
The Nitty and the Gritty:
- comic style (items keep repeating) - some surprisingly challenging minigames - outside of minigames very easy (cursor changes when mousing over needed objects) - hidden object scenes optional if you need more hints (usually not necessary, objects in rooms seem to change) - short game, completed within 2 hours - main character drawn in a kinda cute way - some translation (a mobile phone is called "handy" in the game - which is the German word for it) and grammar errors
Bottom Line: I'd best compare it to the professional "Runaway" adventure series, which are the better games, but have a far bigger development team behind them. This one seems to have been created by 5 people. I'd recommend you getting it during a sale.
