...and the game did work! Not wanting to risk anything I played it through in one go. Playing a doctor, you are summoned to a remote hotel resort, only to have your car hit by a rock slide. You manage to get over a broken bridge somehow, to find out that there is a killer on the loose and people show up dead front, left and center. What's going on, and what does a fire some years ago have to do with everything?
The Good:
+ game time around 6-7 hours + video quality + graphics + hidden object "circles" fit with a theme + objects usually cleverly hidden in plain sight + ...and if you are still having trouble finding them, there are usually some spare items in every scene (like 3 glasses, but you only have to find one) + diverse mini puzzles + map that shows you open tasks, with many locations
The Neutral:
o mini puzzles (save for one slider) VERY easy o some strange things, like what's the point of the horse, or how did you get over the broken bridge? o map does not allow jumps
The Bad:
- story a bit confusing with a dreadful end (has something to do with a foreseeable deus ex machina and the "requital")
Bottom Line: The game was worth the wait. If you can look past the end I can only recommend the game, especially if you are into Agatha Christie stories.

You are a bored journalist looking for a big story. Your editor sends you to check up on an inventor, who soon turns up missing. From now on the story is a bit out there...
The Good:
+ good game length (for me about 5 hours) + very well done videos and voice-overs + hint system works very good + usually clear what to do next + varied puzzles
The Neutral:
o as mentioned above, the story is a bit out there o no map, but for most areas it's clear that you have no more business there
The Bad:
- most puzzles are a bit trivial - sometimes area exits aren't too clear
Bottom Line: I have seen much less quality in CE games. If you are into ghosts and science fiction, definitely give this game a try!

This game is what you could expect from this developer. However, if you expect a happy end, or some holly-go-lightly and fluffy fairy tale fantasy you will be sorely disappointed.
The Good:
+ very well done graphics + great cut scenes + trademark "click everything out of place" FROG scenes + adult story + (hot!) adversary with comprehensible motive
The Neutral:
o not all locations on the map are actually used o the trademark spider is small this time o some puzzles really easy
The Bad:
- there is a decision in there to make that not everybody will like (I chose the wolves since they've been there longer)... - ...and you can't get around it!
Bonus Content: The Bonus Chapter tells the happenings 500 years before the story and took me about 90 minutes to complete. As opposed to the main game the puzzles are harder and the game bombards you with items to use somewhere. A better distribution would have been nice. I had to use the hint a lot more often (the hint meter refills much slower since the morphing objects boost does not carry over to the bonus game).
The rest is the usual wallpapers, concept art and soundtrack that you click through in about 2 minutes and never touch again.
Bottom Line: Like I said above, if you are into "everything is happy, bright and shiny" you will not like this game. If you are into a graphics-fest with an adult story, definitely play this game. However, I would rather recommend the regular version, since the bonus content does not add much.

So we left our explorer in Devil's Triangle when she crashed into the water trying to escape. This is still featured in the overview map for the game. We will visit three more islands. Washed ashore, you pick up some useful items and it's off to explore. You will see strange things, including the strangest spider I've ever come across. (Hint: Mona Lisa)
The Good:
+ graphics + videos very well done + some very unusual puzzles + a few hidden object scenes are a series of scenes of four words that are based on each other (for example, find a key to a box, then in the next list open the box and pick up four things in it, next set pick up the box etc.)
The Neutral:
o I put it into neutral rather than bad because it might be just me, but some puzzle instructions made me go HUH? - in the end the instructions were far more complicated than the puzzles themselves
The Bad:
- hint system (outside of HO scenes) utterly useless, especially on the final island - tiny to minuscule hidden objects - lots of backtracking because the game doesn't tell you what to do next (again, especially on the final island, but also on the first)
Bottom Line: It might be game funk or casual game burnout, but for me the game dragged on and on and on, and I had to force myself to finish it. Definitely no recommendation from me.

This is one of the games I did a beta for. Back then I complained that this game was falsely advertised as "open world game" and it still isn't, it's just your ordinary HOG or HOPA as you may call it. Bandits enter your house and suck the soul out of your sister, then escape. But they leave a purple globe behind. Your duty: Restore your sister!
The Good:
+ quite good graphics + regular HO scenes mixed with (interactive!) FRO scenes + diverse riddles that are not repeating + good guidance for mini riddles
The Neutral:
o items are placed back into HO scenes o some screens are slowly loading o Sonya looks quite nice
The Bad:
- LOTS of senseless back tracking as the game sends you to areas that are supposedly clear for a long time (without any hint to go there!) - unsatisfying ending (that might be cleared up in the CE bonus content - note: this is just a suspicion, I haven't played it and did not receive an answer in that thread)
Bottom Line: The backtracking is unnerving. If you can get past that it's a good game. We've seen that kind quite often already though, and nothing much stands out.

You find a letter and then a mechanical firefly comes to life, which leads you to a strange house. A relative of yours used to live there. Soon after, your task becomes to escape said house. Hindering you is a strange robot, helping you is a voice over a communication device. What is going on in that big cellar of the House of Brass?
The Good:
+ rarely used and interesting steam punk setting + find 12 HO scenes that have no words but categories (like Find 12 square Items) + diverse riddles
The Neutral:
o riddles repeat often o items are put back into HO scenes o the storyline just takes up 20
The Bad:
- some riddles use the SAME approach (number combination to press) - thick black bars to the left and right are a no-go for a CE
Bonus Content:
The bonus gameplay tells the prolog of the story. Duration is about 1 hour. Other than that you get 5 wallpapers, some audio replay and unlimited replay of all mini puzzles. Some you have to unlock by finishing the bonus gameplay.
Bottom Line: The story didn't really capture me and the cellar seems a bit small. It still took me about 3 hours to complete. For some rotating puzzles I had to refer to the strategy guide, which was adequate. All in all I can say, I can not recommend the game as CE - maybe in a sale for the regular version or as Daily Deal.

This is the third installment of the Redemption Cemetery series. As usual, this game has nothing to do with the 2 games that came before.
This time around the lead in is that you are dragged to an island waiting to be killed, only that your murderers are killed before you. In order to escape the island, you have to redeem three ghosts. Sounds wacko, but serves the purpose well.
The Good:
+ graphics well done + three different stories + they tried a new way for HO scenes, works quite well + integration of real people flawless
The Neutral:
o sometimes slow
The Bad:
- most mini puzzles ridiculously easy
Bottom Line: You will get more of the same ERS stuff that you came to expect from this series. For a change you don't have t forge anything. ;-) The story works well, but sometimes it's unintentionally funny (see: shark!).

Review based upon finishing the story with 5 achievements to go.
Floyd the Farmer had to take up a loan to finance treatment for his ill wife, and caring for her put the farm into disarray. Enter the bank who wants the loan back, and fast. The only solution? Win Farmer of the Year!
The Good:
+ long game + very cute + Rusty (at least that's how I named him) the Golden Retriever + humorous cast and quests + lots to do: ploughing, upgrading and repairing the farm, selling crops + rudimentary economic system + varied puzzles that got harder and harder...
The Neutral:
o ...although not as many as in Tales of Lagoona
The Bad:
- two access errors (second one could be ignored) - Minesweeper without telling you how many mines there are is a no-go - game ended before I was able to do all the quests
Bottom Line: A very cute game that you - apparently - also can lose. Less variation makes it slightly below the quality of Lagoona, but there is more to do on the farm than at the orphanage.

Finally finished the game, and I should have done so earlier. What a great game! So, as you came to know from me, here goes:
The Good:
+ very decent game length + high quality videos + Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite as audio + cute nutcracker, candle and cat + even the rats were very cute + map that showed you where to do tasks next + ...which also let you jump there + interactive HOG scenes, not repeated + achievements + lenient with the "No skip" achievement - I completed it despite skipping the animal puzzle
The Neutral:
o would have liked to see the final video again o two minor graphic bugs when displaying fire o while the packed achievements were a nice touch, and fitting with the theme, I prefer to know what I am supposed to do
The Bad:
- I should say limited appeal outside the Christmas season, but forget that, nothing bad at all with that game
Bonus Content:
The bonus chapter tells a different story, that uses most locations again. It features wolves and very cute cats and took me about 2 hours to complete. The cats had kinda strange voice-overs though. The rest of the game is the usual stuff: Watchable videos (not all of them), Concept Art, Wallpaper, 4 songs in the soundtrack (savable), Screen Saver and "Cat Cave", which is just the final picture of the Bonus Game again.
Bottom Line. For me, the second best casual game of 2012. Like anybody else probably said: Buy this CE, now!
I recommend this game!

Finally managed to finish the game.
Well, what can I say. Santa's trapped in ice and you are summoned by his elves to save him.
The Good:
+ cute game + videos well done + varied puzzles
The Neutral:
o some items hard to find due to the first "Bad" comment o very easy even in the harder setting (you are still getting very detailed tasks and diary instructions)
The Bad:
- some items misnamed - short game - limited appeal outside of the Christmas season
Bottom Line: Respect where respect is due, this game has been programmed by just one person. It's on the very easy side, so great for beginners and a delightful Christmas afternoon with the kids.
