I guess my title says it all. I absolutely loved the storyline, and I played it in one session, having to know what would happen next. I played about 3 hours. Those were 3 very relaxing hours with an engaging game that was not diffucult.
The graphics were a bit flat, and not all that much action in every location. Therefore, as a plus, I have to say that there was not too much back and forth, the action usually was in 3-4 scenes, and when you walked on, you did not have to go back there anymore, so the lack of a map did not disturb at all. Help-button is not very helpful, just the usual, there is nothing to do in this area....
But I did have a very nice afternoon with this game, so I would advise to try before you buy, you'll see, you'll like it too! Very recommendable as a daily deal or for the use of a gamecredit.
Have fun!
I recommend this game!

I loved this game from the beginning, as the first hour is quite creepy. If you follow the instructions at the beginning, playing in the dark and the sound quite loud on headphones, the atmosphere is very creepy. But there is nothing really scary or stuff that makes you jump out of your chair.
There is no diary, but a book with objectives, and cuttings of other peoples diary's and newspaper clippings that you have to collect. If you really want to understand the storyline fully, it is important that you read them all carefully, and in the complete order! The pages are not found in a logical order, so it's important to start over reading from time to time.
The main-part of the game ends a bit confusing, but when you read carefully what happened in the diary, you will understand.
The bonus-game, about 2 hours of extra gameplay, explains the end a little further and makes a bit more clear what happened to the girl. Can't tell you more, since I don't want to spoil the story!
I can't emphesize enough how important it is to read the diary and not rush through, because otherwise the story will make no sense at all, which happened to a lot of people having read the other reviews.
There are a lot of locations, and a whole lot of HOS, most of them visited twice. Here and there they can be quite challenging! Actually, there were too much HOS for my likings. But still, I found the storyline compelling enough to keep on playing and I didn't regret it!
Puzzles are not too difficult, I could solve them all, which doesn't happen all that often.
SG is clear and helps you out when you get stuck.
I have to recommend the CE, but only because the bonus chapter makes the story a bit easier to understand and makes you feel more for the girl. There is nothing else, and I do like my achievements and collectibles in a CE. This is why I am only giving it 4 stars.
I had a lot of fun with this game and hope you will too!
I recommend this game!

I played this game as a CE, and was deeply impressed by it, and loved every minute of the long gameplay.
Great graphics, good music and sounds, lots of stuff to do.
When you buy this now as a weekly deal, I guarantee you'll have a fantastic game for very little money!
Enjoy everyone!

I absolutely LOVED this game!!
Has to be one of the creepiest games I ever played, seldom had such a great time with a game. This game absolutely enters my top 5!
The storyline grabs you by the throat from the very beginning, with great cutscenes -partially real movies- outstanding voice-overs and unbelievably good music and sound-effects!!
Great graphics, they also add to the creepy atmosphere, nice puzzles, and good HOS. The gameplay is smooth, you never mind to walk somewhere, because you are so engrossed in the game it feels completely natural to walk there.
There are a whole of scenes, and without a map I got lost twice and had to go to the walkthrough. What made it more difficult (but also more fun!) was that here and there some shortcuts came up, and other ways got closed off. But, as said before, I enjoyed myself so much, I never cared.
I really had a ball with this game, for about 4-5 hours and hope you will too. You won't be disappointed!
I recommend this game!

I almost missed this game, as it was released as a sort of 'second' game for today. It wasn't announced yesterday as most games are. Very happy I picked it up in the knick of time!
This is a great game! It feels like a CE, with all kinds of whistles and bells! Absolutely love the searching for money to buy stuff in your flowergarden. And these extra secrets aren't easy to find either! There also are loads of achievements.
The puzzles are different, challenging and pure fun.
The HOS have some twists and turns and are really refreshing, quite challenging to!
Absolutely love the storyline, I was totally engaged!
There is a jump-map, that also indicates where there are actions, and wether you found the 'secrets'
The game opens automatically in widescreen, which is really cool!
I am completely in love with this game, and can't wait to get back to it!
Have a lot of fun everyone!
I recommend this game!

Absolutely LOVED this game. Everything in it is great.
I enjoyed myself for about 5 hours with this game.
Very good and satisfying ending.
Wanted to play this before I'm off to playing the sequel, Enigmatis, Ravenwood, and I'm sure I'll have even more fun!
Don't bother with trialling this game, it's good, you can buy it with your eyes closed! Have fun!

What a great game this is! I've just finished playing it, and loved every minute of it! Took me about 4 to 5 hours, so I don't understand other reviewers called it short...
The storyline is enormously immersive, you get drawn it to it from the very first second of the opening cutscene.
This is mainly because the VOS are perfect!! They are very, very good, and make the game believable and real.
Lots of HOS, but I liked them, and I never felt as if there were too many. Lots and lots of different locations, but still not too much back and forth. There is a good map, that shows you where there is something to do, but it's not a jump map, so you'll have to walk there, which didn't bother me at all. I liked the graphics too, and in the HOS everything is nice and clear, which doen't mean they are easy, sometimes quit challenging even, but I liked that.
The puzzles are sometimes new and some new takes on known theme's, but i found them all to be very fun! I'm going to play the next Nightfall Mystery now and hope it will be as good as this one!
Vast games is a very good dev, so my hopes are up really high!
Have fun with this game!!
I recommend this game!

Nice game, with some really creepy effects! I jumped up several times.... sorry to say that I sometimes also jumped up from the tasklist, that really 'sprung' in your face, that was a bit too much I thought. The idea of the tasklist and how it was presented I liked.
The 'turn around' locations were great too, you don't see that often. Gameplay was a little challenging, there are games around that are a lot easier! Nice touch!
I really liked the different styles of HOS, the morphing objects variety was a lot of fun.
A lot of screams, whispers and sighs, sometimes some scary violin music.
Yes, the storyline is known, but this take on it was very nice!
I had great fun with this very atmospheric, creepy game! See if you like it too!
I recommend this game!

I've just finished playing this game, including the bonus chapter. Took me about 5 hours, but I'm a slow player. I did it in one sitting though, could not get away from it, had to know what was going to happen next!
The game is creepy, but not scary or dark. The music really adds to the atmosphere.
The storyline is really great, the dev's obviouslyt thought long and hard about this one. Not a second I got bored or wanted the game to be over. The graphics are very beautiful, handdrawn. Sometimes I even stopped playing just to gaze at the fantastic scenes and get the 'feel' of the landscape. Cutscenes are sometimes spectacular with great VO's and sound-effects.
The maingame has a very good ending and wraps things up perfectly. The BC is a prequel and not necessary for the story, although it's been done really well and actually is scarier then the maingame, and has some fantastic effects in it!
There is a very good interactive jump-map, and once you get out of the mansion, you really need it, or otherwise you will be wearing out a lot of shoeleather!
Hint is fantastic too, really helps out when you get stuck.
Puzzles are really fun, some very new ones, and range from easy to fairly difficult;
HOS are easy and clear, and interactive in a very fun way.
There are no special extra's, no achievements, no collectables, no morphing objects, just the "normal" CE-extra''s. You can replay the puzzles and HOS afterwards.
Not really worth the CE-price, but with the sale today at 8.99 it was a great deal!!
I really had a fantastic time in a beautiful, but slighly grim world and hope you will enjoy it too. Have fun!
I recommend this game!

Just finished playing this game, and I had a great afternoon, I played quite a long time, about 5 to 6 hours, including bonus-play.
The storyline is fantastic, the game really grabs you from the beginning and really, you can't cut loose until you know how it ends! And the story gets better and better after the demo has ended!
Beautiful, crisp graphics, nice music, sometimes with nice effects, but I really missed voice-overs, they would have made this game really come to life.
No map, no problem for me, but I can imagine you could loose your way.
CE offers achievements and bonusplay. If you're not really in to that, you can easily do with the SE, the game comes to a very nice and conclusive ending, the bonus is a bit of overkill and mainly HOS in only a couple of new locations, some new puzzles too.
I had loads of fun, try it and enjoy!!
I recommend this game!
