I really liked this game. Interesting to see a storyline structure rather common in indian stories being used successfully in a game. A variety of HO scenes and puzzles was a plus too.
Some English language errors were the only negative points that I spotted but they didn't bother me too much.
I recommend this game!

Of all the free to play games My Singing Monsters is the one which is still in my playing list.
All "Free" to Play games include an effort to make you pay LOTS of extra cash far beyond what you would have paid for a similar normal game. Some become very boring if you don't pay, others even try to make you pay in covert ways.
My Singing Monsters does all these too but does them with style! If you choose not to pay, this game provides many ways to continue with the game and enjoy it. So you don't feel penalized or pushed.
Having said that, the subject of the game, music, is both entertaining and educational.
Each Island represents a different musical theme and each monster contributes a different "voice" to the whole song.
This educates into the idea of the team play involved in orchestras as opposed to single band music.
Add the resource management involved with breeding, "bed" space, food, happiness etc and you always have things to do for a while, while listening to nice music and a reason to come back after some hours to collect your coins or food and play some more.
The challenge will be for the developers to keep adding islands (themes) at a reasonable rate to keep us coming back.
Probably that is the reason they have made some islands and monsters so hard to get (either this or a gentle reminder to send some cash their way by buying the not free items that speed up things).
I recommend this game!

Like all attempts at something new, this game may catch you unprepared. It has a hand-holding kind of start so you may get the feeling that this will be a linear game but it isn't. It looks like an adventure but it isn't. Or maybe a resource management, but it isn't. If you are observant, you may even discover that it could qualify as a HOG but it isn't. It is itself and you need to try it to see if you like it, but here are some hints so you can give this game the chance it deserves.
You start with simple instructions and an arrow that shows you where to click. So, if there is an exclamation point, you click it and get a quest. When you cannot fulfill the quest or don't have a required item, you see a red X but when you can, there will be a green check mark. Sometimes there is a bag icon, it is either a merchant but also a reward. So the rule is click everything and see what happens. There are no penalties. If you hover the mouse long enough, you may even get some extra helpful text.
By the way, don't skip dialogues, read them! They have useful hints. For example, the hero says to himself something about remembering searching for eggs in the forest. That's a clue! Look among the trees and click around and you will find eggs. Sort of like a Hidden Object although they are not really hidden! You will need the eggs for money but also for quests, so don't just sell them. And in the very early stage you will see something near a big rock that looks very much like coins, click on it! You will need the money!
So the morale of my review is don't be afraid of a game that is not a carbon copy of other games, keep your mind and eyes open and you may find something quite enjoyable.
I found the story engaging enough to guide you through the game, quite a lot of freedom in what to do next, at least in the pursuit of getting some money and doing quests, you need to manage your health, you get achievements, the graphics and sound are adequate and overall the game is very enjoyable and refreshingly different.
I recommend this game!

This is a great game. It's not short, it's not childish, it's not for girls only. Enough with the stereotypes!
You can and should demo it to see what it is about and if you like it but reviews shouldn't just be about whether you like it or not, whether you will buy it or not. I cannot afford to buy it but I was so disappointed that the demo time flew by so fast and I had to come back to reality.
I say it is one of the best because the story elements, and the hidden objects and the puzzles fit well together and don't distract you from one another. There is no random moving around with zillions of things in your inventory without knowing where they are to be used.
This is an interactive story with HOS and adventure elements that flows well together and allows a pleasant immersion in the story. Maps, music, graphics, difficulty, all blend together to form a standard that other games could use and strive to improve.
I hope this review is of help to put things into perspective.
I recommend this game!

I want to bring to your attention that this game is NOT a click-fest type of game. If you try to collect every resource that drops, you will fail. You cannot preplan actions and preclick resources to be picked up when a worker is available, you have to have one available. You cannot undo your actions. There is no timer for the buildings to know when the next resource is ready, you have to get a feeling for it.
You just need to study the level BEFORE you start, find out what the "choke points" are, what resources you will need and when and then execute the plan. Then you will be a "great leader" and win the three stars.
By the way of example, in the beginning you usually need wood to build your buildings, but later you don't need any wood. Don't bother gather it! It is a waste of time. Sometimes you have collected so much food that it is enough to build the rest of the wall, don't bother to send your worker to collect more food.
I am half way through the game and got 3 stars on each level easily with plenty of time to spare despite the pesky dragons and that I am not that fast in clicking them away.
I thought that the above could be of help in understanding and enjoying the game.
I recommend this game!

Truly this is a CE game but its CE aspects (extra bonus game, wallpapers, etc) aren't worth the name, BUT the game itself was released as part of a promotion giving you the chance to buy any CE at half price. Played well, this promotion can make the real price you end up paying for this game more close to an SE's.
In addition the game itself is a really interesting experiment towards what I could name Interactive TV. Really good quality spots of real actors acting, a new way of hidden objects chasing across several scenes and areas, spotting areas to match across several locations and most importantly fitting logically with what is going on with the story. The story itself ties in very well with the game. All the elements work together and provide a new level of immersion that sets new standards in the HOG genre. Because of its immersion I found that the fact that it didn't have achievements to chase was actually good.
The whole game took me more than eight hours to complete so I found its length very satisfying too.
In my opinion the game is worth the CE price despite not having the CE additions of other games and a lot of the criticism it receives is because of the attempt to fit it in what is usual for other games with which however it does not belong to the same category.
I recommend that you try it and see for yourselves.
I recommend this game!

When I saw this game I thought there must have been a mistake. Haven't we played this game some days ago?
It turned out that another game with a similar title was indeed released some days back and has met rather mediocre reviews.
This one though seems to be different.
Let's get the "bad points" out of the way first. You must be able to stomach yet again a Jane Austen's story. I'm sure at her time what she wrote about was revolutionary but today I find it boring. But that is just an opinion. I also found unappealing the interface of the game. An option to fix the inventory box would have been nice.
Yet the game looks nice. It uses the FROG style, the items are not too difficult to locate, the puzzles are varied.
I particularly liked the graphics, paintings fitting the time period of the story are used in the puzzles and I find this very nice. The music was also nice, fitting and unobtrusive.
So overall the game has sufficient game elements to encourage me to endure through and finally get in a roundabout way what the fuss is all about Jane Austen and her novels.
In that respect we can say the game succeeds in its purpose, as suggested by its title, to bring the novel to life.
I recommend this game!

I bought this game after a few minutes into the demo. After playing it for some hours I had to force myself to stop!
This game is not really a Time Management more like a Sim. It says that you can play as you wish but there are plenty of guidelines given in game which act as tutorial. The speed is not controllable so at times it may get boring, when towards the middle of the game you need many resources to upgrade your buildings or research. I guess a more strategic use of my earlier choices could have saved me of that.
Graphics, music, story are pretty nice and blend nicely together.
I recommend this game!

I have been a fan of this story line since its beginning and I was very curious to see how the story would end. Although the plot is very tough to negotiate, what with time travel, plot twists, prophesies and other such elements, I found it to help the game along. Similarly the game carries along the plot. This mutual enhancement between story and game is what makes the casual game medium such a great contestant in the overall Games industry.
Technically the game is a FROG (FRagmented hidden Object Game), it is not too hard but challenging enough, it has a good duration due to its many chapters, the music ties well with the game and isn't boring or annoying. The puzzles are very interesting and just challenging enough without distracting from the story and the overall game.
I definitely suggest that any newcomer to the game series plays the series from the beginning, although the game provides enough background for those who choose otherwise.
I recommend this game!

I had great difficulty deciding how to grade this game.
As a solitaire game is more than good. It has an interesting story to break the tediousness that usually goes with solitaire games. The music is nice, the visuals great and you get to do some hidden object scenes. So it is not boring. After you finish it you unlock a "cast your fortune" type of game that is really nice and seems very well researched and a freeplay mode which is just more of similar solitaire scenarios.
But.... this game had so much potential that was touched but not worked on that I also considered grading it really really low! Interesting story line, well researched divination meaning of cards, hidden objects, the whole idea looked great. Before buying I thought that game had the potential to be one of those games that we use to set standards of excellence. Yet, less than half an hour after the one-hour trial period, the game finished.
It had the potential of being a great game but it didn't use this chance. It remains just a good solitaire. In a way, that's a pity.
I recommend this game!
