I liked this game but I thought I'd love it more. It has everything I like in a game: - good length - lovely graphics - smart puzzles - good hidden object games - different locations/large map - challenging
though something was missing for me. I'd just recently finished the Templar and the Dark side, so this was a little different.
I just don't think the story was strong enough and didn't get me wanting to play. Usually I can't wait to steal an hour by myself, and if it's a good game, I'm thinking about the game when not playing. But I found myself closing it after 30 mins sometimes when I did play.
Overal smart game but just didn't grab me, it may grab you.
This game has everything and a little more. It is the first game in a long time I didn't want to end and will keep in on my PC for a while so I can play it again. The Puzzles are great and challenging and the strategy component is interesting and addictive.
There isn't really much more to say though I did finish it in 3 sittings so could be a little longer, though I didn't go for the collectors edition.
Really liked this hidden object game as there was a great balance between the hidden object and strategy parts of the game.
The graphics and story are strong and the length is good. there are challenging puzzles.
Spoiler... I especially liked...
that you didn't need to go back to the hidden objects a second or third time, this really irks me with games as it feels like a lazy way to keep collecting objects.
After playing a few of these games this has been my favourite. It has a great balance of hidden object, puzzles and strategy. It was challenging enough to need to take a peak at the strategy guide, which I hate doing, and is a good sign. There was a great mix of live footage with lovely graphics. It is a long game so worth the extra cost.
This game has a good storyline and because I'm a fan of the adventure/strategy games, this was very good but for me there were way too many Hidden Object Games.
I prefer a balance of games though this one had so many I was really getting a bit over it. Also the ending, like many games was disappointing and without giving anything away I would have prefered to skip right over it.
There are so many games out there that feel the last puzzle or task is an after thought, and should be a major event.
That being said it is a nice game and does have challenging moments. It was helpful that the book captures all the things you need when you find them.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
I thought the storyline was dark and intriguing, it really kept you going. The map was huge and there were many things to keep you wanting more and I really enjoyed the new style hidden object.
My frustration lies with the puzzles, they didn't seem to have a lot of point some of the time and there weren't clear instructions of the objective. I found myself sneaking a peak at the strategy guide to get an idea. Also the book didn't log all the important things you find along the way like code numbers etc, so I found myself searching for a pen and paper to write things down, really annoying when you've only got 30 mins a day to play. I usually don't buy Collectors Edition as I find they aren't worth the extra money, but this one kept me going for ages. I would like to try it again to see if I have a better chance with the puzzles.
This game has all the makeup of an awesome game though is missing something. There are a lot of rooms to get into though not as many challenges as I'd expect for the size of the map. There is a map that indicates where things are if you want help which I found handy with the map being so big. It would have been nice if you were to help the other patients escape and when transported into another realm, had more to do there. Some of the puzzles were a little easy.
This game had a great balance of hidden object, puzzles and looking for elements to fit together. I enjoyed the different areas and there was always something that was keeping me guessing. The length of play was great too, as I only play a couple of hours a day it took a few days to complete.
I recommend this game!

The first installment to one of the best adventure games on Big Fish Games. I highly recommend this if you enjoy adventure games, there are no hidden objects which I prefer and there is a strong storyline. I liked playing this series in order. Can't wait for the next one.
