Time management games are my favorite, so I always try them out. This one is very fast paced and demanding. It didn't waste a lot of time working you up to a more intense level. You get there pretty quick. After the first "area" in the game, I was exhausted and ready for a break.
The colors are bright and cheerful and the upgrades for kitchen gadgets are fun and interesting. There are even some mini-games. It was an enjoyable hour overall.

Though I've kind of had my fill of this type of game, I decided to try it to see if anyone had come up with anything new. They have indeed. There were some levels that were challenging enough that I had to rethink my strategy and start over a couple of times.
The graphics are cute and the map is interesting being vertical instead of a flat sheet. Overall, it was a fun game.

There are three difficulty levels and I played on expert mode. The music is not irritating, and I left it on.
The graphics in this game are different than the typical hidden object games available on Big Fish. I felt like I was in a cartoon and the voice overs and characters supported the cartoon style very well.
While the game maintains good tension and is rather creepy, I found it more disturbing than entertaining and did not finish the demo.
The mini-games that I encountered were not difficult. There is also a 'detective mode' mini-game that was different in that you had to find hidden objects related to a crime without a list. The list is revealed as you find them and then the crime analyzed.

I have not played any of the Grim Tales games because I don't usually like creepy games. Today seemed like a nice day to try something new. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the demo of this game!
The developer, as usual, has done a great job with graphics, animations and voice overs. The mini games are fun and vary in complexity. You can whiz through one, then find the next one will require more thought and maybe some resets. One in particular was so fun, I was disappointed when I solved it because I wanted to keep playing.
There are not too many hidden object scenes. Just the right amount. In addition, so far I have not had to search for an iron, umbrella or kettle (HOG staples). The tasks also seem more realistic than some games. I did not have to try to cut a bush with a lobster, for example. I appreciate that very much.
I was amazed that the hour was up so quickly.
Just a fun note: In the opening scene you can click on a grate that has a butterfly sitting on it. I clicked on the butterfly to see if it would fly away or something and the game informed me that I would need a screwdriver to get it off.

This game has some nice options for controlling difficulty, brightness and screen movement. The music is unobtrusive and I left it on throughout the demo.
Many of the graphics are lower resolution, reminiscent of older games, but not unpleasant. The hidden object scenes are cluttery but they seem to be placed in appropriate places where a lot of clutter might be.
The story idea is good and hoping to find out more kept me playing. The problems really came down to language and story writing. I felt that the dialogue was thin and the narration kept switching tenses. There were gaps in scenes that left me wondering what I had missed. When the full plot was revealed, suddenly and in a few seconds, I was disappointed. I wanted to find out slowly and maybe in a more tension generating fashion. I knew the rest of the game would be gathering stuff needed for the showdown and I wanted more plot.
Finally, mislabeling of objects in hidden object scenes put me on edge - pomade on the list was lipstick, and captain's tube turned out to be a pipe for smoking tobacco.

This game brought back memories of the cartoons I watched as a kid. (Remember the Super Friends?) That was a long, long time ago in a day of simple dialogue and no explanations of weirdness needed, so I'm pretty sure the writers were aiming to make fun of that genre - which they have done effectively.
The game is designed in the style of Roads to Rome and Kingdom Chronicles, though the gameplay itself is much less complicated. The artwork is bright and colorful and the music and sound effects are not bad. I left them on.
This would be a good game for young children as it's very easy and they won't be put off by the silly dialogue.

I'm always on the lookout for something outside of the familiar hidden object genre. This game was definitely different.
On the positive side, the graphics were very nice with care taken in the details. As new areas were opened up, I found them interesting and attractive. Hidden things were often very small, but still relatively easy to find. The storyline is uncomplicated and there is no great skill needed to play or win the game. Great for kids who get frustrated with mini-games or puzzles or someone who just wants simple relaxing play.
The storyline was ok and it was fun trying to help all the different characters. Some problems were interesting and included multiple steps.
On the down side, the English was often irritatingly bad. It was a good attempt at translation but odd things popped up a lot. I also found myself wishing for greater depth in the conversations and more character development. It's a tricky balance between too much conversation and how to give the player information.
The game lasted longer than I thought it would, but was still relatively short. In all, I enjoyed it enough to buy it and play to the end.

It's not often you see a game with such a variety of reviews. After reading several I decided to give it a try for myself and ended up buying it.
I've felt that HOGs have become somewhat stagnant. This game does some new things that brought some life back into the genre. You are still given a list of objects, but they are not all in one place and you can move through a couple of "rooms" before you find everything. This made it a little more challenging - and frankly, I'm tired of finding everything on a list in less than a minute.
Live actors made it kind of fun. I've seen a few games do it well and this one is no exception.
The puzzles aren't really difficult, but things you need seem to be found in logical places and do sensible things. I have not yet had to trim a bush with a lobster (as in another game) - which I felt was really silly.
Kudos to the writers and developer for trying some new things!

I have to disagree with one reviewer. This is not the worst game Big Fish has ever published. Not having SpongeBob in it automatically redeems it...
The good stuff first: Cute sounds, cute bugs, music was appropriate and not irritating during the time I played. The goal was clear and I really liked the cursor being a large marker. You can actually scribble on any part of the screen and erase too.
On the surface it seems easy. You move the bugs by making paths for them. I don't know what kind of algorithm the silly things run on, but even when you've got them completely cornered, with only one way to go, they will refuse to move the direction they are supposed to. Five frustrating minutes into the third level, I was going to find me some bug spray and end the problem.
This is the first game where I've had to download the XNA platform. It's supposed to make game development easier. It's interesting to see how it's being used.
I don't recommend this game.

This game really helped me develop an appreciation for time management games. It has a silly plot and cute baby monsters that can create really big challenges for the babysitter on higher levels. (There were times when I couldn't bandage everyone up fast enough).
Unlike many games I've purchased, this one is fun, memorable and re-playable.
