The graphics were great, music pretty good (though sometimes repetitious when searching a HOG), the object interaction in the HOGs was fun, the story is a bit out there, but okay, I'll come along for the ride and the length was great. It took me about 7 hours and I only skipped one of the puzzles. That circuit board puzzle annoyed the heck out of me. :oP
I only got stuck twice during the game and used the hint to figure out what/where I needed to be. I love that the hint button will direct you to the right scene and not need to be recharged after each click. I hate the games that you click on the hint button, which tells you to go left, only to have to wait for it to recharge again so you can click it and it tells you to go left again. The hint button will take you where you need to go and point out the object you need to interact with before it's depleted. It also doesn't take too long to recharge, if you happen to need it again.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the somewhat repetitious music in the search scenes and because the plot was kinda strange.
Overall good game though. I'll be playing it again.

You're fresh out of high school and ready to start your life as an adult. You'll be faced with challenges posed by former classmates and whoever meets them first, wins the round. If you don't happen to meet one first, you'll keep playing until you do and once complete, you'll receive your next classmate challenge. The challenges are things like: get a job that pays $10, buy a pet, rent a condo, etc.
You'll need to develop life skills by working, attending college, dating and going to the gym, in order to advance.
In the beginning you'll be able to customize your avatar and during the game you can shop for new wardrobe pieces or even change your hair color. Kind of fun to change the look around. You'll be able to customize almost EVERYTHING you buy in the game, which is pretty cool. From your furniture, to your 10 speed bike, to what color cat you want.
I've played this game several times and it's never the same game twice. The classmates and challenges will be the same, but simply changing your first job or a few of your other choices or even when things go on sale, will change the game completely. Your spouse will likely change too.
Summary: Just a fun time management game that can be played again and again and never be the same. Good times!

I originally bought this game when I was a BF newbie and it was a 99 cent deal. That was 99 cents wasted unfortunately. I've learned that not every deal is a good deal.
You'll notice right off the bat that this game was developed by non-native English speakers. Which would be fine, except that the directions can be somewhat convoluted. I'm also easily annoyed by grammatical errors such as "there's no any seeds." The graphics are about the only thing I enjoyed in this game.
The premise of the game is you're a farmer who's trying to save money to build a house while simultaneously growing new breeds of plants. There's a cross breeding chart that you earn a trophy for when you find all the plant combinations. There's no rhyme or reason to the end result. If you cross a tomato with a sunflower plant, voila, you get a pumpkin? Or how about the sausage plant or bread plant? I guess soy or wheat plants seemed too normal.
Cross breeding wouldn't be so bad if your plants didn't start from scratch every time you did it. That's right, after you wait and wait and wait for the two plants to mature, you plant one into the other, and then you will wait and wait and wait for the new plant to grow. There's a daily featured plant that you can grow to earn more money, but the seeds are not available that day and you have to cross breed plants to get them. In most cases, by the time you've grown the plants to cross breed and mixed them, the day is over before you have the matured plant you need. Annoying to say the least.
As if the time it takes to do things isn't bad enough, there's no daily timer. That's right. You have no idea when the day will come to an end and a new plant will be the featured item of the day. Fun right? Try to beat the imaginary clock before it runs out!
While you're tediously watching and caring for plants, you'll have to shoot at crows and shoo rats away or they'll eat your crop. This apparently helps break up the boredom that is this game. But it's not really working for me.
Summary: Very slow, tedious game. It's time management without any indication of how much time you have. If you enjoy watching grass grow, this game is for you, because that's what you'll literally be doing. Please save your money and go buy ANY of the other farming games on this site.

I had my doubts when I finished the demo long before my hour was up but I decided to buy it anyway. I'm glad I did!
The voiceovers were good, the graphics were nice, the music was pleasant and not at all distracting. The plot was interesting enough to keep me engaged and the ending has me anxiously hoping for a sequel, but not in a cliffhanger kind of way; the game ends fine as it is.
The only thing I would complain about is the hint, which I didn't find very helpful when it comes to interactive objects in HO scenes. If you can't find one of the listed red items, the hint will only point out the object you can interact with, not where you need to interact with it. And it's not always intuitive (peacock feather duster anyone?)
Overall, I liked it and the length was longer than I was expecting (I played on expert and it took me several hours). If you enjoyed Phantom of the Opera, you'll like this one, or if you just like IHOGs in general. Worth owning.

I had hoped that this would be a fun little holiday diversion, but I found it to be a little too odd for my tastes. While I appreciate the offbeat, this just left me confused and a little bored. The HO scenes are pretty easy and so are the mini games (match pairs, recreate the painting). The story was just odd and I admit that I started skipping the dialogue after the first 3 chapters. It started out promising, where is Santa, but why Death and his house would be involved in a holiday tale is beyond me. I also felt that the dialogue was used more as a filler to make the game longer since some of the conversations just dragged on for no apparent reason. This game also appears to be pretty short, I was on chapter 14 when my 1 hour expired.
I was hoping this would be more like the Holly Christmas Tale game, but it's not even close. If you want a fun holiday diversion, I would recommend that game over this one.

I liked the first one but this one seemed even simpler and it was also a LOT shorter. By the end of the one hour trial, I had about 15 minutes left to complete the game, if that. I didn't skip the story either and still had 20 hints by the end. Game play is really easy, just searching scenes for various items. The graphics were bright and fun and the sounds/music were fine (though the music gets a little repetitive). This would be fun/challenging for a child who likes HOGs.
Overall: Cute but too short. Okay as a DD but save your credits.
