Just when you start thinking hmm maybe it's just that I play too many of these games and they don't seem that great ..along comes Sable Maze. Good graphics, very well done VO's, an actual storyline and some pretty tricky inventory objects. Loved the collections.. 7 different ones located in a book where each one lights up and offers info when you complete it. I liked that it also had real achievements. The game is a very decent length and the extra chapter is a continuation that you must play to complete the collectibles. Quite a few mini games. I especially liked moving the stolen knight around the board and the other putting the various shapes in place. Highly entertaining, beautifully done game with an actual story. Loved it.
I recommend this game!

I liked the steam punk type atmosphere of this one. The storyline was the old stop the evil whoever from destroying the town. You had a companion bird oddly named Matthew that flew to things out of reach and you collected bugs as you went along. Some achievements mostly associated with the game. I would say this one was cute. Not overly long. The graphics were crisp and clear and you did get to fly on a glider. For me the storyline kind of lacked credibility but it is just a game. it was fun, light hearted and not bad. No epic adventure but not a dud either. I was kind of middle of the road on this one. Good but not great. Nice atmosphere, fun to play, kinda short.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed the magical aspects of this game. The artwork was great and the VO's were really well done. I liked the little dragon and the cut scenes were interesting. There was a lot to do and a fair amount of new locations to explore. The plot started out well but soon turned into the old must rescue this person theme. But regardless, I did like the amount of detail in this game. Right down to if you clicked on an apple in the scene, something would begin taking bites out of it. You are in love with a creature from the magic forest. This is forbidden by the humans. Along the way you find out you may not be as human as you once thought. I really enjoyed the making of all the potions. Much fun. Overall this was a light, fun, kind of whimsical game that was enjoyable. If I had one critique it would be the amount of reading. Too many notes etc. even in the diary. No achievements, not too difficult but what was there was bright and enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

This is only from the demo. I checked for achievements and found none, there were collectibles.. some silver statue things. This started out as another standard game. You are a detective called to a town overrun by evil ghosts who seem to want the town's young girls. Must be carried over from their time as humans as why ghosts would want them I dunno. Of course only you can rescue the town...yawn.. oh sorry. This is missing.. this is locked.. you know. Ho scenes are clear and graphics are nice. Jump map and a good hint system with objectives. The diary holds some mini games. For me if it doesn't have both achievements and collectibles it's a no CE for me. Will wait for the SE version. This one made me find out about the collectibles in a round about way saying I had to buy the full version so maybe in the full game there are achievements but for me if you want me to buy the CE you have to show me up front what I am buying. It's Elephant so it should have a decent length and graphics but I will wait for the SE or a two 4 sale
I recommend this game!

Let me just say that I own all of the previous games in this series and really enjoyed them but this one seems lack luster at best. The storyline is barely there and it just becomes an endless search for missing pieces. It starts our pretty well.. you escape from your captors and begin the next leg of your adventure. However it goes downhill from there. The best part of this series has always been the mini games but this one... not so much. Some were ridiculously easy and the rest were really difficult ..not because they were complex but because they were nonsensical. One, where you must turn some dials to match the colors/designs made no sense whatsoever. Even after staring at the solution in the SG I could not see any connection. This happened a few times with different mini games. It was also true with some of the inventory objects. This game lacked both flow and any drama at all making what to do next not always obvious and you sometimes forgot why you were doing all this back and forth. Not my favourite addition to the Awakening collection. By the end I just wanted to be finished and was getting quite impatient with the whole thing. I didn't bother with the bonus chapter. I own at least 400 games and usually like most things but this one lacked any reason to care about what you were doing. It's okay but certainly not the best one so far.
I don't recommend this game.

This was a game with a lot of fun factor. Charming and entertaining with all the extras. Collectible cupcakes, achievements and some very cool locations. Loved the graphics, all the mini games and the HO scenes were crisp and bright. I played on challenge mode. If you're a seasoned player you may want to play on the harder mode but I like the objectives. This games is much too easy to be played on casual though for anyone but a real beginner. The storyline was a bit same old for me.. your children guess what? yup go missing and you must rescue them from the evil witch. Regardless I did enjoy this one. Enchanting and different. Nice change from the run of the mill game.
I recommend this game!

This was an okay game. Short but bright with pretty graphics. It had the standard..no this can't be..demise of the bad guy at the end. Peeve for me was no directions for the mini games at all. I did manage to figure them out after some trial and error but still. You are called to the usual deserted town to figure out what happened and follow notes and a couple of ash ghosts to all the clues. Mix of HO's with some lists and some silhouettes. I liked this one ..it was fine for what it was. A short, pretty looking. rather average game with nice music.
I recommend this game!

This looks like it will be a good game as a SE. On first glance it looks as thought there are collectables and achievements but that can be deceiving. All but one of the achievements are game related so you earn them by just playing the game. There are no extras to strive for like find ten items in ten seconds or finish a mini game in a minute for example. Just play the game and you'll earn these ones. Quite disappointing. As for the collectables there is only one --15 potion bottles-- and they sit right out in the middle of the floor. So no real achievements to strive for, not much in the way of collectables and no morphing make me think I'll wait for the SE version. The storyline is also the same as the others that came before it. The witch has returned yet again. On the plus side the graphics are lovely, I've always liked the music and even in the first hour there were some fun puzzles. For sure a buy for me as soon as the SE comes out. This developer should take a look at all that the best games we have seen lately have had to offer and come up to speed. If they were to present a more complete package these games would once again be really great as CE's but for me this CE just doesn't quite measure up. Will write a review for SE when I buy it.
I recommend this game!

This game has it all. Three different collectables including one morphing, beautiful graphics, achievements, detailed storyline, a jump map and a great length. Like the first game, I loved this one. I loved the treasure chest and it's goblin guardian. I liked how he told you more of the story for gold coins. And the story was front and center the entire game. It starts out with lots of drama and suspense and for the most part maintains it well throughout. I really liked mixing the sleeping potion for the guard who should " go wench himself" . Lol nice touch. A really good mix of HO scenes, adventure play and mini games. Don't miss this one. It's well worth your time and money.
I recommend this game!

Played through this one in advanced and quite enjoyed it. Scooby-do type cartoon graphics, really good VO's and a suspense storyline. Loved the recreation of the crime scenes from the 9 clues. Lots of HO scenes that were list based but the objects were all spaced away from each other so very easy to complete. Lots of mini games that didn't require any skips. Also a very good jump map that showed areas with things to do. Was nice to have a gun to protect myself. Really enjoyed this one. it was not overly long but well worth the free game coupon used. For a SE it was a good entertaining little game.
I recommend this game!
