Just back to back HOS really. Also lots of mini games/puzzles with very quick skip button. Most of the mini games are really easy, fun and quick to solve. I love the hidden object scenes. There's a lot of re-playability in this game for people who like really relaxing HOS games and can play them again over the years, to chill when required. It was the quirkiness in the scenes that made me buy it. I liked the intriguing and interesting posters and also the cereal boxes ! It reminds me very, very slightly of the very early mystery case files games.
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!
This is a slow burn game and a long game, with good value for money. There's a lot of to-ing and fro-ing. You will walk a lot of miles. Your pedometer will show that you have walked a thousand miles but it won't be linear. It will be back and forth, back and forth, over a short distance and it will almost drive you insane. Almost. I played the demo and thought, 'This is great game play, nice relaxing HOS, and HOS where you put things into a scene, add to it, rather than take things out. Nice pace and atmosphere and environmental sound effects. There are also a lot of skippable mini games/puzzles. When I bought it and continued playing it, I felt a sense of panic, like what have I got myself into? I'd committed to something big that I couldn't get out of, and I had to see it through, whatever the cost. I wasn't far wrong. This game requires commitment. If you have problems with a sense of direction, this game may not be for you because it won't hold your hand and lead you in the right direction. It's character building for sure. Are you prepared to do the hard work over time? There are no quick fixes. This game is about the long haul, the slow burn. The opposite of dumbing down. There are many moments when the hard work pays off, and you eventually find the area where the puzzle is, or the object needs to be used and that moment is so sweet, almost joyful after twenty minutes of running around like a maniac, on a wild goose chase...but eventually everything makes sense and you will be left with a sweet sense of achievement.
I like these quirky old games that have a uniqueness about them. I don't normally like the painted graphics style but this is sort of borderline, transitional, and some of the scenes are really interesting and intriguing and have a good atmosphere. The objects could be challenging to find though and this one was mostly wall to wall HOS.
I bought it for my husband after we played the demo because he really liked it. So we ended up playing it together and that's always a nice thing to do but I wasn't really into it for some reason. It was a little too busy for me and probably a little too modern, but it has to be said, it has good graphics, atmosphere and game play.
The pace in this old school game is really good and builds up a good suspense. I think that's rare these days, especially in some of the newer HOGS but these developers nailed it. The graphics aren't up to much but that's just because of the age of the game. I also liked it because it was relaxing with lots of hidden object scenes.
I loved the scenes in this game, well executed and thought out. Great characters. Graphics are nice. It exercises the grey brain matter. It's not a relaxing game but if you want more of a challenge with a lot of humour and fun thrown in, this could be the game for you.
Prepare for a mind-bending journey into the realm of the weird in Haunted Halls: Revenge of Dr. Blackmore! Brace yourself for the unexpected in this exciting Hidden Object adventure!
I much preferred the others in the series as there were far too many tedious mini games in this one which really stilted the gameplay and pace for me. Also, there were hardly any hidden object scenes. Saying that, it had its memorable moments. I enjoyed the kangaroo reading the newspaper. It also has really nice graphics and atmosphere and is a fairly lengthy game.
Spellspire is a thrilling mashup of word game and action role playing game. Pick letters from a grid to spell words and shoot them from your wand as spells. The longer the word, the bigger the blast!
Initially, it's sort of that weird mix between stressful and fun, and then it just gets stressful. Great idea and with good potential but it needs to be more user friendly. I've has some fun times playing it but they were fleeting. It was disappointing because it's not fair gameplay and the first rule of a good game is to be fair.
Nice back to back hidden object scenes. So relaxing that it's in danger of becoming a little boring. I liked the bonus game at the end, 20 substantial levels of a matching pair memory game and that too yielded another bonus, in the form of an ending/cut scene in anticipation of a sequel perhaps, but was there ever a sequel?
Really good game play and cute clear graphics in this tycoon type time management. It delivers more than it promises, much more! I'm not really into these types of games but this one is different. So much fun and highly addictive.
