I'm going out on a limb here, but I would say that this is probably the best of the Dark Parables games. If you're already a fan, I would highly recommend buying this game. Then settle in. You get what you pay for here. This isn't a game you'll blow through in two hours. If you're new to the series, this probably isn't where you want to start. However, if you're simply looking for a standalone game, this game fits the bill. If you're interested in following the overall story line you can play the games in order, although that's certainly not necessary.
Part 1 - Curse of Briar Rose Part 2 - The Exiled Prince Part 3 - Rise of the Snow Queen Part 4 - The Red Riding Hood Sisters Part 5 - The Final Cinderella Part 6 - Jack and the Sky Kingdom Part 7 - Ballad of Rapunzel Part 8 - The Little Mermaid and the Purple Tide Part 9 - The Queen of Sands Part 10 - Goldilocks and the Fallen Star Part 11 - The Swan Princess and the Dire Tree Part 12 - The Thief and the Tinderbox Part 13 - Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow Part 14 - Return of the Salt Princess Part 15 - The Match Girl’s Lost Paradise Part 16 - Portrait of the Stained Princess
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed the game. It runs along the lines of the previous installments. It is nice to see some familiar faces from the series along the way. While this game is categorized as Hidden Object, it is the HO scenes that are the least interesting of the challenges. Finding bits and pieces of larger objects is my least favorite HO goal. The music, voiceovers, and art are wonderful. However, this game, more than most, was anticlimactic. Play this game for the ride not for the destination.
I recommend this game!

This is an older game...state of the art 10 years ago. However, it is one of the few games that I had to replay levels multiple times to unlock the strategy for an expert score. As a matter of fact, I never got expert on the level 5 despite eventually getting it on the other 49 levels. As an older game it lacks the bells and whistles I'm used to from more modern games, but it's playable and challenging.
I've played all the Phantasmat games and enjoyed them all at 4+ stars. However, this feels like half a game. After playing two hours I found I was 67% done. Sure enough...another hour two days later and I was watching the credits roll. Wait until you have a free credit or there's some incredible sale before investing in this game. Game play was less challenging than other instalments, but otherwise it is similar to previous games.
I've played all the Phantasmat games. This one is typical of the series, with a creepy storyline, HO games, puzzles, etc. No issues with game play. Four stars instead of five because it was very short. Even with playing the bonus chapter I was done in about five hours.
I recommend this game!

I've played a bunch of the Haunted Hotel titles. Actually, when I was looking for something to play I was surprised to realize that I had already downloaded and played six Haunted Hotel games. Like those six, Eclipse is a somewhat forgettable game with the added drawback of being really short. I finished in a few hours over the course of two days. This game has a few good jump scares, but the details of the story line are muddled and the ending is confusing. Honestly, the beginning is confusing, too. Why try to kill the professor outright in the first minute of the game and then keep him alive for once he's been captured. There are surprisingly few HO scenes for an HO game. And the puzzles are nothing new: crawl through the ventilation ducts following a map, fill the bucket with exactly 4 gallons of water, jump tiles to get all of one color on the left and the other color on the right, etc. If you're just looking for a few hours diversion, this game will suit. But don't expect anything new or unique.
I'm a fan of Game House games, especially the Heart's Medicine series. You can tell that an attempt was made to copy the game play of Heart's Medicine. However, this was not achieved. Each level plays out exactly the same as the others. The NPCs enter the screen in threes. The first two have complicated orders and the third has a very simple order. This repeats over and over again throughout the 60 levels. It quickly becomes repetitive and boring. It's a shame because the setting, story line, and characters are engaging. Ultimately, though, I'm looking for a fun game and this game is too repetitive to be fun.
Of all the times to spring for a Collector's Edition! I usually don't bother, but I've seriously loved all the past installments of Cadenza. These are visually stunning and appropriately challenging games. Not so, this time. Graphic were beautiful, game play was <4 hours. Also annoying are the pop-ups identifying your Achievements. You can't click through them and they take quite some time to run their course after each scene. Also, there was some confusion with the story line. How did everyone already know the magician's name? I've played all the Cadenza games, he wasn't in any of the others. And the ultimate bad guy came out of left field with no explanation. Finally, why did the magic "turn on him?" This game was not well thought out.

Shorter and weaker than the first of the series (Queen of Spades), Bronze Horseman still delivers on the HOS and puzzle fronts. The storyline continues the search for SG who is terrorizing a new town.
The ending is abrupt and nonsensical but if you're playing for the games and not for the story then this won't matter to you.

This is terrific, but but it is only a piece of the game. The developers never continued the series, so there's no solution to the mystery, or conclusion to the story.
