it takes too long to get the lavastones in order to increase the ability to craft items to solve the puzzles.
I have maxed on all the resources & now have thousands of tech points & food but only 29 lavastones. I only get 3 every 24 hours and it takes 300 to get a second crafting bowl. As many items can take up to a day to craft it is just too slow & I get bored wating & lose the will to solve the puzzles
It is a shame as I love this series & was enjoyed the initial building up of tech & food reserves
I don't recommend this game.

Like the gameplay, like the story, like the artwork but, and it is a huge but, I absolutely loathe the live characters. The voices & the acting are dreadful, obviously none of the live people in the game are actors by any definition. What on earth possessed the developers

This is a pretty game from Blam Games & is set in winter, I always like snowy scenes & is a lovely way to spend a few hours without torturing your brain with anything too hard. The graphics & the artwork are very well done & I like the look of the human figures which are sort of elongated. The two main animal characters are very cute little dogs.
There are three modes of play, casual with glints, sparkles & a 40 second hint; advanced with no sparkles & 2 minute hint or hardcore, no hints & no skip button. The hint will point you in the right direction if you get stuck. Whichever mode you decide to play I doubt you will need a walkthrough as both the hidden object scenes & the mini puzzles are very easy. The H0s have some interactive items & occasionally you will revisit one, the puzzles are the usual jigsaw, untangle lines, tile swap, etc.
There is a lot of going back & forth; there is an interactive map but it is only useful if you can remember where you want to go as it does not show where there are active areas. If you want to open a specific lock for instance but cannot recall where it is located then an interactive map is not a lot of help. However the game is not so big that going back through the scenes is a hardship.
It took me around 2-1/2 hours to complete; if I had used the map more often I suspect it would have been much shorter. Still it was an engaging game & worth buying as it makes a nice change from murder & mayhem that usual dominates this genre.
I recommend this game!

This is not one of the best games around & the story telling leaves a lot to be desired; the soundtrack is very repetitive & I know I have heard it in another game.
The graphics are pretty average & the artwork quite medieval in style although rather ‘green’ in colouring. There are 3 modes of play; regular with a 15 second hint recharge, glints on every item of interest & sparkles to mark the HOs, advanced with no glints or sparkles & a 15 second hint or expert which has no hint or skip button.
You get a journal that contains some clues & a staff for which you have to find 10 jewels through the game. The hint is useful; if you get stuck & click on it you will be shown a picture of where to go & a sparkle to show what object to investigate.
Puzzles & finding items to open cupboards, chests & doors abound; in fact you will spend most of your time searching for something to use. In addition you will find that you have to search the same H0 scene more than once which is rather tedious, these are either the usual word list or a variation, put the objects back into the scene. Even though there are a lot of puzzles many of them recur & unfortunately by the time I had played the hour long bonus I was rather tired of the whole thing so I will not buy.
I am however going to recommend this game as if you love to be busy then this hidden object game from Orneon may be for you.
I recommend this game!

My advice is to play the full demo before purchasing as before I was halfway through this hidden object adventure I was fed up with playing & had to make myself finish. The gameplay felt quite disjointed & I couldn’t always figure out what to use the inventory items for so had to use the hint button as an aid. There are a lot of screens to open up & quite a bit of going back & forward to find other items to use.
There are 3 modes of play, casual with a 30 second hint recharge, lots of glints everywhere & bright blue butterflies to mark any H0 screens, adventure with 60 second hint or hard with 90 second hint; both that latter don’t have glints but the butterflies are there.
The few voiceovers are really good & I liked the music; it suited the story telling style. The graphics are average & the artwork the same, neither was as crisp & clear as I like & many of the scenes were very dark. In each scene there are one or two purple flowers to find for which you earn coins, you also earn them for completing H0s and mini puzzle and the coins can be used to buy the sketches used to create the artwork or the audio.
The hidden objects are not too difficult & you can switch to match 3 play if you prefer, the mini puzzles are also pretty easy & along the lines of picture tiles, simon says, slider, etc. You will collect a lot of inventory items & some are kept for ages before use, I had to scroll along to see some items as I had so many at points during the game.
It took me around 4 hours to play but that was because I had to keep leaving the game through boredom & come back later & try & remember what I was up to before shutting the game down.
I don't recommend this game.

Why complain that a game advertised as a hidden object has surprise, surprise a lot of hidden object scenes.
If, like me, you love a good hidden object game then this game from Shining Tales might be your cup of tea; the graphics are really clear & crisp & the artwork is splendid. There are no voiceovers & the music wasn’t so great but I used my own.
The hidden objects are within the main scenes although you also have to delve into cupboards & drawers, there are no sparkles so watch for your cursor to change. The hint will show a picture of the item you are searching for & it recharges in 30 seconds.
Part way into the game you will get a ring that can be used to see the locations in previous time frames; once you elect to use it the cursor changes & as you move around the scene invisible objects become visible & you can click on them.
There are a few puzzles to break up the HOs a little, they are not too hard.
I found that if you leave the game part way through finding a list of objects in a scene it is not saved so that when you return you have to start the list again. The game is also very short; it took me less than two hours to play so I advise waiting for a sale to buy.
I recommend this game!

This is the latest offering from Elephant Games; I find that I either really love a game they produce or it is mediocre, this one is the latter.
I was looking forward to playing as the setting is a snowy town & we haven’t had a good winter landscape for ages but I found the graphics a little blurred; it felt as though I wasn’t wearing my glasses. It was difficult to make out the items in the hidden object scenes which were rather like junk piles. Maybe it was the colouring I had a problem with as it was all rather blue, grey, brown & it was hard to distinguish where one object began & another finished.
There are some great features in the game; 3 modes of play with or without sparkles, the most helpful hint ever (it tells you exactly what to do next if you get stuck) & an interactive map. There are a lot of puzzles as well as H0s to solve although the puzzles were pretty easy during the demo hour.
Although I won’t be purchasing as the graphics were not to my liking I am recommending as you should definitely try it out; I suspect that most people will like this game.
I recommend this game!

Well to say I am underwhelmed would be to exaggerate; this hidden object game from Legacy Games is pretty boring. There are 2 modes of play, casual with a 30 second hint & sparkles or expert with a 60 second hint & no sparkles; you get a map of the town which is used to move between areas.
The graphics are crisp & the artwork colourful & mostly in cartoon style; sad to say the main characters only bare a very minimum resemblance to the TV series. There are no voiceovers & the people sort of whoosh in & out of the scene while their dialogue is on screen.
The screens seem to load quite slowly & often the cursor turned into an egg cup as it seems I was finding items too fast, clicking on an item was a bit hit & miss as to whether it would be picked up immediately.
The hidden object screens are quite small & sit in the centre of the main scene, the items are not too hard to find. Some of the words on the list are hidden & you have to find a ‘trickster ghost’ to get the word uncovered. There are also mini games along the lines of create a picture, match items, etc.
There are two episodes to play but I cannot judge how long they will take as I only played for 40 minutes; that was long enough for me to know that I won’t be purchasing this particular game.
I don't recommend this game.

This is definitely a game for hidden object lovers; N-Tri Studios has created some great ones in this game. There are not only excellent interactive items, many of the objects are well blended, hidden behind other objects, very small & some of the H0 have mini games within the scene. Even though the scenes are really nothing but junk piles they are put together so well that it doesn’t matter.
The mini puzzles are the usual types, open locks, pipes, jigsaws, circles, Simon says, etc. & they vary between easy & moderately difficult, there is a skip button.
There are no options for game play, just the one mode with light blue sparkles for the H0s & some subtle glints for active areas. The hint recharges at 30 seconds & keep an eye out for bulbs in the shape of the hint; if you click on one it adds to the number of the hints you hold. If you have more than one you won’t need to wait for it to recharge.
You get a notebook & an objective list although I didn’t use either, some nice light melodic music (except when the villain appears & the notes become discordant), no voiceovers, very crisp graphics & clear brightly coloured artwork.
There isn’t really much of a story, the gameplay is pretty much lots of hidden objects with a few tasks & mini puzzles. I loved it because the H0s were so well put together & it took me around 3 hours to play.
I recommend this game!

This is from one of my favourite developers, Artifex Mundi & as ever their team have produced crystal clear graphics & beautifully rendered artwork. There are good voiceovers with clickable dialogue & quiet melodic music & nice background sounds.
You get a journal with a task list & little way into the game, two maps; these this will show active areas & where you are in easy mode (which has a 20 second hint recharge) but only where you are in expert (40 second hint). It is not interactive so you will have to go back & forth rather a lot to find the inventory items you need to complete game tasks.
This is a game with a lot of hidden object scenes, some items are interactive & in easy mode these have glints which is a little too much hand holding for my taste. If you prefer you can ‘toggle’ to play mah-jong instead; this consists of finding matching tiles & clearing the board. I did find the corners of the H0 screens rather dark, you will return to some H0s but you will find that the objects you removed before do not reappear when you go back so you are not looking for the same items.
The mini puzzles are the usual pipes, simon says, gears, create pictures, etc. & there is a skip button if needed. As an additional task you have to collect 12 doubloons & if you give them to the pirate holding on to the chest in the main cabin he will tell you the captain’s story.
This is a pirate story of kidnapping, confronting the captain's ghost & rescuing the girl; it had a good storyline & I enjoyed playing. It was a long game & took me around 4 hours to finish, the ending was satisfactory so this Standard Edition was fine, I don’t think I missed anything by not getting the CE.
I recommend this game!
