I loved the look of it the most. While Nancy didn't get to go as many places as I thought she would, it was still easy enough that I could get most of the puzzles done without looking them up. (I think The Haunting of Castle Malloy was much harder in that respect#.
I loved finally figuring out how to use the lasso. My favorite part, i think, was solving the canyon hieroglyphs#?) and figuring out the clock puzzles in the living room.
Also, Nancy occasionally got sent home in my case. Obey the rules of the ranch in all things!
The only part I didn't enjoy very much was all the kayaking. It wasn't as bad as constantly driving around the island like Ransom of the Seven Ships though. It did give the game an eerie spook factor, being out there all by yourself and never knowing if the next turn you made was going to send you out to sea forever.
I had a lot of fun with the quiz part you had to do to get the seaman in the cafe to talk to you, and figuring out how to work the card things on the wall.
I almost forgot to add, one thing I also liked about it is it didn't end the way I expect. When I figured out the card thing, I thought certain other things would happen, but they didn't. I liked that unpredictability.
I also wished for a little more for the cafe lady to do. She seemed like a fun character that could have been expanded some.
While I had trouble getting through some of the puzzles (I'm not ashamed to use a walkthrough after I've tried everything else I could think of) I thought the game looked amazing. I felt like I got my money's worth and then some.
I loved finding my way through the corridors, and working out how to use all the elevators and secret spaces.
While my favorite Nancy Drew game is the Phantom of Venice, I wouldn't mind playing this one a second time.
I appreciate all the reviews on the games here. It helps me make the decision of which N.D. game I want to try next.
