Not enough hidden object puzzles in this one. A lot of very boring 'find task, find object for task in the same area, put the object there' kind of linear gameplay. Plot is not explained or set up very well
I don't recommend this game.

I really enjoyed the story of this one. It's goofy but in a good way. Good amount of hidden object puzzles and the other kinds of minigames/puzzles are decent enough. Definitely worth checking out
I recommend this game!

I bought all of these Dark Parable games a while ago so I've been playing my way through. This one is weirdly blurry for some reason and shorter than the previous installment, being only 8 chapters instead of 10. The plot was creative and an interesting take on some fairytale characters, but the settings were a little mundane in comparison (all inside a castle pretty much). As with the previous games, the only hidden object scenes are 'find parts of an item to build it'. I'd probably skip this one if you're playing through them
I don't recommend this game.

Normally I am a huge fan of games from this developer but this was a bit of a disappointment.
THE GOOD:
* Plenty of hidden object scenes. All are the traditional 'find 12 objects in the scene' which is my preferred style. These were actually very challenging in parts but I'm not sure it's a good kind of challenge. Sometimes things were very well hidden and sometimes it felt a bit mean. Still, definitely worth considering if you find most HO games too easy
* Lots of locations. Not much to do in any of them but you know
* Okay story and graphics
THE BAD:
* This game has so many locations and unfortunately, you will move through all of them many times. There was a lot of back and forth and I actually found it really hard to know what I was supposed to be doing because there were too many details to remember. You might gain two objects at once and one is used in the very first location and one is used in a different location 15 locations away from that one, and it gets very frustrating very fast. I almost constantly spammed the hint button and usually I'll use it maybe once or twice per game
* There is a specific order to things and the game won't let you do something right if it isn't the 'time' for it. Frequently I'd be confused because I would try to use an object and not be able to, only to return after an action in a different place and then be able to do the thing I was trying to do before. Combined with unclear direction, this was a nightmare
OVERALL:
This isn't the worst HO game I've played and there's a certain level of challenge here (for better or for worse) which veterans might appreciate. I did finish the game and I did hugely enjoy the number of HO scenes available, but it still wasn't amazing.
CE:
Not worth it. The bonus chapter is a prequel which reveals what you already found out in the main game. Uninteresting and tedious
I don't recommend this game.

I was very, very excited for this game. I have played both the Alice in Shadowland and Oz games in this series so far, and the idea of entering the worlds in the same game really appealed to me. Unfortunately this game is incredibly lazy.
At the time of writing, I have completed the first third of the game. It is essentially a mini version of Alice in Shadowland, with very little to offer that's new or interesting. The puzzles and HOP are of shocking quality. So far I haven't encountered a single traditional HOP, and they have all involved either clicking on parts which you don't have to hunt for (such as assembling armor) or clicking key words to move forward a story (two words at a time, very easy to find).
There has also barely been anything I would call a minigame. I had to paint a gate which wasn't difficult at all but was a game at least. There was a rope climb which again, was straight-up lifted from a previous game down to it being in the same place.
Maybe these factors will improve but I barely feel motivated to play on and I have bought the full collector's edition. This was clearly an excuse to use the same artwork, minigames and story from previous games but with none of the actual difficulty or effort put in. The voices are fine but don't match the previous games either, which is quite jarring.
Overall, I could not recommend this game. Buy Alice in Shadowland instead as that is actually creative, detailed and has a lot of variety to offer in HOPs and minigames. This might have some appeal if you're new to the series but even then, it's so easy and bland that it hardly seems worth it. I am not impressed at all by this
I don't recommend this game.

This is without a doubt one of the best hidden object games I have played. For starters, it's so long! After playing many games which barely last two hours, this game felt like it had real substance to it.
The plot and atmosphere of this game are what really made it for me. You play as Alice, a woman sucked into Shadowland (formally Wonderland) by someone hoping to overthrow the Princess of Hearts. The resistance fighters are all typical Wonderland characters reimagined into human form (White Rabbit, Cheshire, Hatter etc). The character designs are great and I loved the level of detail in the locations and general design. I found the plot engaging and very unique, which isn't easy with a Wonderland game.
The gameplay is also great. There are a variety of hidden object puzzles with the usual scenes, finding objects to put things together and also finding objects to use within a scene. There are also plenty of puzzles which were incredibly varied and made a nice change from the more repetitive games. Pretty much every kind of puzzle you can think of can be found here. There is also a cool mechanic/story element where you switch locations between your shadow and human form. This kept locations fresh and it was nice to have two inventories. The switching wasn't frequent enough to be annoying or to lose its appeal.
Overall, I strongly recommend giving this game a try for the real in-depth hidden object experience. I can only hope the others in this series are as good because the bar has been set high!
I recommend this game!

I love scary amusement parks as a theme so I was really excited to try this. Unfortunately it has not aged well. The main problem with this game is that it feels very sparse. Many things aren't interactable with and you often don't get any comments from the player character when you do interact with things, making the atmosphere very flat and dull.
The environments are okay but the graphics are indicative of the time and it's quite ugly compared to more hand-drawn environment games.
There is little plot to speak of. You are at an amusement park investigating a bunch of deaths but the game itself doesn't really tell you this, you just end up there. There are no characters for you to interact with and zero voice acting. Sometimes you'll see a ghost clown which is exciting, and a tiny Joker creature which is confusing.
The hint system is terrible. It creates a ring around an object in a scene but I had to use the hint twice for the same object because the ring was so hard to see and I didn't know where on the screen I should be looking. This meant waiting for the long recharge and was very tedious.
I really wish I hadn't bought this game. There are far better examples if you want a spooky fairground hidden object game
I don't recommend this game.

This game delivered everything I want from a solid hidden object game. There were plenty of HO puzzles of a reasonable difficulty. The plot was a ton of fun and very reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean in a good way. The graphics aren't fantastic and tended to go a bit blurry during cutscenes but I don't expect a lot from my games in terms of that. The Collector's Edition had a decent amount of extra content that was appreciated which definitely makes it worth paying a bit extra for. One of my favourite HO games
I recommend this game!

This game started off really strong with some genuinely spooky imagery and some jumpscares for good measure. The story was quite cool and I liked the unique gameplay elements, such as having to find places to hide and creeping across floorboards. Unfortunately the whole game was just too short. As soon as you move away from the initial house, the scare factor drops significantly and it becomes a much more standard Hidden Object game. The HO scenes were decent but took a backseat to the plot and other game elements. I think if everything had been as strong as the initial section of this game, it would be 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately it becomes less creative and challenging after that point.
I recommend this game!
